Description

The Space

Our studio is perfect for a single person or a couple. With its own private entrance, our suite is located on a lovely, tree-lined street and is the ideal place to stay if you're visiting Los Angeles and want a spot away from the hustle and bustle of the city—but still want to be close to everything.

The suite is a cozy one bedroom with a private entrance. The room is comfortable and has a queen-size bed. We love good linens, so you can be sure to enjoy nice sheets and towels and a good-quality year-round down comforter in a soft cotton duvet. There's a full-size bath en suite. WiFi, DirectTV with lots of cable channels and good sized desk makes this a great home away from home. There's a portable air conditioner and a space heater so you can keep as cool or warm as you'd like.

**Advance Booking Alert** We would love to host you but we tend to book up quickly. Please check the calendar to make sure your dates are available.

The suite has private access through our backyard, so you can come and go as you need to. At night, the path is well lit. There's no kitchen access, but we can provide a French press and/or an electric kettle to make coffee or tea (and Starbucks is a mere block away). We also have a small refrigerator for storing snacks and perishables.

There's a nice table outside your door where you can drink your coffee or work on your laptop. Or enjoy the oversized hammock in the garden—it's is perfect for relaxing or avoiding work!

Street parking in this neighborhood is by permit only, which can be purchased up the street at the police station for $2 a night. There is a vending machine in the lobby that is open 24/7 at 1422 Mission St. or you can get one in advance online. This information will be sent to you when you book the suite.

There is a small, well-behaved older Corgi on the property. Roxie is a valued member of our family. She is not allowed in the room, but if you are highly allergic you should be aware of this.

We will be here to greet you on your arrival, so please let us know the approximate time you plan to arrive. Our family is very busy, so you may not see much of us while you're visiting but we'll make sure you have our contact information in case you need anything.

When inquiring about the space, we prefer requests with a photo of you, a full Airbnb profile, and some reviews. If you're new to Airbnb, please share some details about yourself so we can build some trust.

South Pasadena is home to fine boutique shopping and great restaurants. If you like a relaxed scene, you're in the right place. If you're looking for a bigger city feel, Historic Old Town Pasadena is about a mile north of our home and has all the shopping and dining you could ever want, plus some of the bigger chain stores and movie theaters. And downtown LA is about 15 minutes southeast.

South Pasadena is also at the edge of the San Gabriel Valley, known for its large and diverse Chinese population. If you have the time, great cuisine and culture is mere blocks away!

We've had quite a few guests stay here when they are studying or working at one of the local universities and they're always pleased at how easy it is to get around from here. We're well located just a few miles east of downtown and close to all the major freeways and public transit (yes, LA does have public transportation!). It's a quick hop over to the 110 freeway which will take you to all the major freeways of LA! If you're new to LA, please keep in mind that driving here can take a lot longer than you'd think so if you have any concerns about whether this location will work for you, please query us with your travel plans and we'll let you know what you should expect.

Our home is very quiet, but note that we are located in a suburban neighborhood so you can expect to not only hear birds singing, but children playing.

I prefer requests with a picture of you, a full Airbnb profile, and some reviews. (If you're new to Airbnb, please share some details about yourself so we can build some trust.)

The suite is cleaned between each visit and there is a one-time $10 cleaning fee per visit no matter how long you stay.

**Well-behaved pets are negotiable. While we want to be flexible, we aren't pet sitters. However, if you have a quiet, clean dog that goes out with you and/or is crate trained, we can discuss it in advance. There is a one-time $25 pet charge to be paid to us when you arrive (via cash), since a pet stay increases the level of cleaning that we must do to ensure that the suite is ready for the next guest.

If we haven't answered all of your questions, don't hesitate to send a question our way!
