The location is wonderful, close to hiking trails, but the cottage was very dirty, with the smell of cat shit coming in from the windows, and the room had mosquitoes because of broken screens. Outside, it's full of flies because of all the animals and their feces. Not recommended.
Marie was an absolute godsend. She helped us transition from moving to Hawaii to figuring out our lives here. The place is great and I personally love the nature aspect of it.
Fun place to stay, fairly dirty but everything you need is there and worth it for the price.
This was my worst airbnb experience. We arrived late at night to a place that had a door that wouldn't close, dirty sheets, towels, carpet, the place looked like it hadn't been maintained much less cleaned. It's crawling with geckos, bugs, the lamps are filled with dead bugs. That's just the bedroom. Our host seemed to be high and didn't really make us feel welcome.
Then we moved on to the kitchen, where the fridge is rusted and dirty with exposed electrical sockets. Then we finally made it to the bathroom where there are dead bugs in the bathtub, a toilet seat that isn't held to anything and no shampoo/conditioner. Oh and we didn't dare to touch the shower curtain cause it was that gross.
I tried using one of the towels that looked lightly used to find that it was so old the fibers and dirt within it fell into my hair and onto the floor. I almost puked having not ever seen a towel that old and dirty.
We ended up staying somewhere else since we felt unsafe and the host seemed unfriendly. We were ok with the roosters going off everyday at 5am and the place crawling with cats, but the conditions were just terrible. I would never recommend anybody to stay here. Spend the extra money or go couch surfing. I will be writting a blogpost about it

I left a review the other day to help others who are looking a place to stay.
Maybe I was harsh but I tried to be as honest as possible.
Then, Marie, the host, instead of apologizing or trying to improve, she left a review to renters saying don't rent out to me. What a great host.
Stay away from here and all this drama.
You can get a great hotel 3.5 or 4 star at Waikiki beach for little bit more.
I got 4 star hotel for $100 through priceline, private bathroom, nice service, clean room, right at the beach, etc.
I definitely don't recommend especially for a female due to the safety (people sleeping in the living room). And you can hear everything from the next door.
And I felt nausea after stopping by her place.. tons of animals.
I booked for two nights after reading many good reviews.
Yeh, good price but you get what you pay for.
There were a bunch of.. freaky people in the house, one guy sleeping in the living room, some old couples wearing... underwear and some other people Idk
I didn't feel comfortable that I just left the place and booked for a hotel using priceline and I got a good deal on that. (and no refund from this place)
I wouldn't recommend at all. Marie is a great person I am sure but the place was totally weird,. a bunch of animals..
It was an interesting experience.
This person spent 10 minutes in the house. My guests are very nice people from all over the world. Yes, some have different customs but that is part of the airbnb experience, The gentleman on the couch was a war veteran who got stranded for one night, I didn't have any rooms open but I was sure to give him someplace to sleep since he risks his life each day to protect mine. This was explained. Some people shouldn't book on airbnb.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
