We enjoyed our stay here very much. Kevin was very kind and helpful. There are fabulous hiking trails right at the driveway to the house. I loved how peaceful and removed you feel here - almost like your in the jungle but it only takes 10 minutes to get into Waikiki by car. It is definitely a little rustic and imperfect but overall a great value. We had a lot of friends staying in downtown Honolulu who spent 250 dollars a night and I felt like we scored with this place. The roosters are loud but I enjoyed them. If you are a light sleeper just bring earplugs.
Marie has a special place here...while rustic accommodations, the towels and sheets were clean, the floor swept, and basics provided (plus extras, like coffee). The surrounding wilderness just out the front door is incredible, the contentious chickens a joy to listen to.
May not be for everyone, but we feel lucky to have spent one afternoon and night here. Thank you, Marie!
Marie had a great place! Nothing fancy but exactly what we were looking for. We came into town on a quick trip, and on a tight budget. It was really easy to find, close to city yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle. We did a great run up the road from her house and saw amazing views. We got burgers one night and used her outdoor gill to cook. It was very peaceful, and I loooved the roosters! Thank you Marie and also thank the woman helping you out, her name has escaped me but she was wonderful and very helpful.
Great place to stay if you're on a budget! Very nice property with a country feel, but even has cable TV for those more relaxed days. Marie and Memory were very accommodating. Hint: check out the hiking trails right next door.
It was not bad the kitchen was good for cooking , the bedroom was roomy enough for 3 people. The storage was good and the host was helpful. We saw a few roaches and the wifi was weak at times.
We only stayed over for a short night at Maries place as we were headed for one of the islands the next day. Marie was very helpful and made it easy for us to feel welcome and even organised someone to pick us up from the bus stop closeby! Don't expect a five-star hotel room but something probably a little more authentic than most places in Honolulu. If you're on a tight budget you've got everything you need there.
I stayed for 1 night and this was exactly what I needed. Its a little outside of Waikiki but close enough that you can get to everything fairly quickly. Marie was nice and gave me a couple ideas for food and things to do. She knows the area very well and was very pleasant to speak with.
Marie was nice, accommodated us well. Had basic amenities, pretty good for the price. Loved the crow of the roosters in the morning. Beautiful views just up the road.
Marie was easy to communicate with, and I enjoyed hearing the roosters outside. It's a quiet neighborhood. The shower stall could use some cleaning. There are others living in the house, but I almost never saw them. The room is a good value!
