  • The room was just what we needed for our time spent in Honolulu! Our first night was a little unnerving. But once we saw the place in the daytime, it was wonderful. We never actually met Marie, but she arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport. It cost less than a cab and we even got to stop at Foodland on the way! Can't recall his name at the moment, but he was super friendly and gave us lots of advice for our trip!

  • We enjoyed our stay here very much. Kevin was very kind and helpful. There are fabulous hiking trails right at the driveway to the house. I loved how peaceful and removed you feel here - almost like your in the jungle but it only takes 10 minutes to get into Waikiki by car. It is definitely a little rustic and imperfect but overall a great value. We had a lot of friends staying in downtown Honolulu who spent 250 dollars a night and I felt like we scored with this place. The roosters are loud but I enjoyed them. If you are a light sleeper just bring earplugs.

  • Aloha Marie,
Thank you very much for your pleasant and hospitality especially emptying the trash and filling up the bathroom tissue continuously. Last, but now least, reconnecting the internet quickly and checking up with my late arrival due to delayed flight.

  • The Rustic Place!

If you are looking for a rustic place to enjoy the nature and explore the Island, that's the place! For the price you pay don't excpect 5 stars hotel, but to stay for few nights and be close to Honolulu and the haighways it's perfect. I recommend to rent a car to enjoy better the island. Least but not last, the Host is very kind and genuine.

  • A nice place to stay while in Honolulu. Reading other reviews, we thought it is far away from everything but it is actually very very close to Walmart and many restaurants - although you do need to have a car. The host is very friendly and promptly fixed the things we mentioned to her. No problem with parking while we were there. Laundry is also easy to do. The room is quite spacious. It isn't as polished as a 3-5 star hotel but it is not too bad either. It's similar to staying at someone's older home. I would most certainly stay there again.

  • Nice, simple lodging for a few night's stay. My room had a coffee maker (& supplies), TV, fan and a comfortable bed. Close to freeway/downtown and near to hiking trails, too.

  • This is the place to stay if you want to see the "real Hawaii." It is very rustic and it is not a luxurious hotel but it is capable of giving you an experience that you will never forget. You will have access to a nice kitchen with dishes, pots and pans, stove, refrigerator, and microwave. There won't be a maid to leave a mint or toothbrush on your pillow each day....but....I dare you to visit the many isolated trails that zigzag all over this mountain...listen to the bubbling stream.....and listen real hard while sitting on a rock.....you just might hear Pele, the fire goddess or feel the presence of one of the many gods that we have all heard about in this tropical forest.
