Marie was a great host. She confirmed our very late notice booking. Her place is a jungle oasis in the middle of Honolulu near great hiking trails in a nature park. Room was basic but everything we needed. Would stay here again. Just be prepared for early Hawaii wake-up Rooster calls :) We loved it.
First place I've stayed using Airbnb...Marie was very quick responding to my questions & helpful. The accommodations are similar to a cabin setting with other guests in different rooms, but sharing a common kitchen & bathroom. Other guests were friendly & respectful to each other. Totally secluded area with no road noise, but chickens do make noise in the AM but not in the evening. Great parking & secure. A good place to stay on a budget in Hawaii!
The room is in the middle of the jungle but really near downtown which is convenient, if you like nature and are use to outdoor activities and being around cats and chickens which where fun to watch this is the place for you at a good price, we had a shared kitchen, big bathroom and a common area, cable tv. Expect bugs, cute geckos and other animal life, it's like a cabin type of vibe, its like a 30 min walk to ala moana, near bus stops and Chinatown, we had privacy and key to our room we met another guest and had a great time hanging out outside and enjoying nature our stay was short but we had no problems at all.
The room was just what we needed for our time spent in Honolulu! Our first night was a little unnerving. But once we saw the place in the daytime, it was wonderful. We never actually met Marie, but she arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport. It cost less than a cab and we even got to stop at Foodland on the way! Can't recall his name at the moment, but he was super friendly and gave us lots of advice for our trip!
