Check out all my listings! :-) Please note, I don't accept reservations more than 3 months in advance...
This is a very unique, historic space right on the East River! Available for only a short time until the antique store re-opens; the space has been emptied and converted into a comfortable apartment while still retaining the charm of the boutique.
The Storefront is a lovely & light-filled space on the ground floor of a waterfront rowhouse with a big private garden in Brooklyn's booming Greenpoint Historic District, on the riverfront just north of bustling Williamsburg. Walk to the Bedford "L" subway stop, or just a few blocks to the Greenpoint "G" stop. East River Ferry service (with multiple stops in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens) is 2 blocks from the building, on the India Street waterfront, and many bus lines cross through the area as well. Plenty of restaurants, bars, boutiques, cafes, galleries, banks, gyms, etc all within blocks.
800 completely open interior square feet. This building was a loving & complete gut job from top to bottom, with all new electric and plumbing, but every effort was made to bring historical detailing back to this late 1800s commercial space. The Storefront features beautiful salvaged wood floors and a fantastic mid-1800s tin ceiling that was brought in from an old schoolhouse! You will find a cozy living area, a comfortable Queen-sized bed, a dining area with a basic kitchen (electric 2-burner cooktop, sink & refrigerator), a separate lavatory and an open-space clawfoot tub. (Note: a handshower attachment & hand-made copper ring enclosure have been installed, will update photos ASAP!) You'll also have exclusive use of the 1200 sq ft lovely landscaped garden, a true luxury in the city! WiFi access. There is a window A/C unit and an efficient ceiling fan, and there's generally a nice breeze off the river, too. There is no television in this rental, because you have better things to do here in NYC!
Commercial & residential dead-end street, terminating at Transmitter Park on the East River. Please be aware that this street is both commercial & residential; while the noise level is normal for NYC, this is not a "silent" apartment.
Privacy & comfort await!
*please note: you will have exclusive use of the garden during your visit... depending on the length of your stay, you'll likely be asked to water the plants when the weather is warm... :-)
I have a few listings available in this wonderful neighborhood, if you click on my profile you can check them all out.
Thanks for looking, and we look forward to hosting you in fantastic Greenpoint!
Everything at the Storefront is pretty self-explanatory! I'll ask you to please adhere to local recycling rules, and will provide the proper receptacles.
Check-in is any time after 2pm and check-out is any time before 11am, but I aim to be flexible whenever there aren't other schedules to juggle; let's be in touch directly regarding your timing.
You are more than welcome to have your friends over and I certainly want you to enjoy your stay, but please no big parties & no groups of total strangers :-)
Have a wonderful visit!
Great place in a great neighborhood. Very charming and comfortable. Close by to almost everything: groceries, markets, restaurants, cafes, yoga and even a riverside park with a peer to see the sundown over the Manhattan skyline. Loved it. Maya was very helpful and a great communicator.
Cons are details and can be easily solved: a "dancing" table not comfortable to eat or work and lack of cleaning instruments. Bottom line: I would be back if I had the chance.
Another great stay in greenpoint. Such a beautiful space. Maya was as usual easy and quick to communicate with. Already planning our next visit!
Good vibe, location & atmosphere. Maya was a great communicator. Easy process to access the keys. Basic amenities available, we stayed in the fall & the place was toasty warm. Thanks Maya, Yvette & Wayne
This truly was an amazing stay!
We unfortunately didn't get to meet Maya but contact was easy and she left us great annotated maps of the area!
Greenpoint was an amazing place to stay, all restaurants, bars, shops were brilliant, so good so me and my girlfriend are actually looking into moving there! The accommodation was just what we wanted, somewhere unique, great location and clean. Sometimes at night it was a little noisy outside the front of the shop but it didn't affect our stay in any way. We can't wait to go back!
Maya's place is awesome. Generous and charming, outdoor space is such a treat! Had my parents stay here and they loved it! We hosted a wedding toast for my cousins and this was a perfect venue for that too- the kitchen had a bit of an old fashioned bar feel which was perfect for some champagne and a cheese plate! Would highly recommend to folks visiting Greenpoint. Beats a hotel hands down.
I live just up the road (I had visitors staying in my apartment so needed to find a closeby airbnb) so know this lovely area well. Maya's place is right near the water, with great views from the park at the end of the road across Manhattan - and has the most sublime private backyard. A quirky little oasis in Brooklyn, I would highly recommend it to anyone. The perfect airbnb find. Quaint, private, spacious and super relaxing - and Maya was a pleasure to deal with. Thanks for a fun stay!
