It is one of the only units with a DOUBLE LANAI (outdoor deck area). The double lanai has an incredible ocean view and can be accessed through both the bedroom and the living room. The lanai is lit for evening use and seats 2 for dining plus offers a separate area with 2 comfy lounge chairs and cushioned ottomans for relaxing while taking in the awesome sunset striped skies and fantastic ocean views. ;)
You can also see the ocean from the bedroom, the kitchen, the living room, and even from the comfort of your California King sized bed. ;)

~ We really strive to make everything at BEAUTY & THE BEACH: IT’S A SHORE THING super convenient which is how it should be when you are on vacation. WE OFFER a totally private washer and dryer right INSIDE the condo. This totally eliminates the hassle of guests having to dig around for quarters and/or having to transport their dirty laundry to a community laundromat while on vacation. Please note we also happily provide ample laundry detergent for your entire stay. In addition, we provide a separate clothes drying rack in case you want to dry your clothing items in the fresh and fragrant Maui air. :)
~ The spa like bathroom features a beautifully tiled (floor to ceiling) walk in shower with plenty of storage space for all of your belongings.
~ Our condo sleeps up to 4 guests. There is a California King bed and a Full sized sofa sleeper. Both beds offer very expensive and advanced zippered allergen barriers (mattress and/or boxspring fabric encasements) that are 100% pesticide and chemical free and offer 100% protection against bed bugs, pollen, and dust mites. In addition, both our beds are equipped with HIGH thread count linens.
~ We are happy to offer super easy and "lightning fast" check in. Simply enter your totally unique "secret code" and open the door. Even faster check out: just close the door behind you. Flight delays and/or late arrivals or really early departures are never a problem when you book a stay at BEAUTY & THE BEACH.
~ We happily stock AMPLE dish soap, garbage bags, dishwasher detergent, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, Qtips, cotton balls, coffee filters, tea, and hand soap. In addition, we provide "starter kit" supplies in the bathroom and the main kitchen. Upon arrival, you will find 2 fresh rolls of toilet paper and 1 fresh roll of paper towels for the kitchen. This will be enough to get you "started". Our goal by providing "starter kits" for household paper products is to prevent the necessity for you to have to shop for these items during your first couple of days in paradise; after all, you are on vacation. There is also a "Pay It Forward" shelf where guests are welcome to leave their unused, non-perishable grocery items.
~ We are also happy to provide useful items like an iron and ironing board, a hairdryer 4 beach chairs, a cooler, beach towels, a beach bag, yoga mats, a beach umbrella, and even a luggage rack.

~ The condo is located right in the heart of South Kihei in the very popular and classic Island Surf Building which sits on 1.5 acres of pristine Maui real estate. This popular complex is just a couple blocks away from the well known Charley Young Beach and is DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET from the world famous Kalama Beach Park. These are arguably two of South Maui's BEST water activity beaches and serve as the perfect pivoting point for all of your wonderful Maui activities and adventures.
**Guests have access to a HEATED SWIMMING POOL on the roof of the second floor with incredible views looking out towards the ocean. Heated pools in Maui are very rare, reserved mainly for super high-end resorts, so this is a real treat! The HEATED SWIMMING POOL and bbq grills are on the 2nd floor. You will need a key to access the area. The key is hanging inside the condo on the hook by the front door. Please return this key when you depart.
~ We offer beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrella, and a cooler. For hygiene reasons, we don’t provide shared snorkel equipment — Kevin, our activity partner, can arrange guided snorkel tours for you. Additionally, we have many locally owned, rental facilities right in Kihei that offer snorkel equipment.
Kihei Food Oasis at South Maui Gardens is directly next door. There are lots of food trucks there, and they are open 7 days a week from 11am to 8pm with live music every Saturday.
Other things to note
Due to our property cleaners’ schedules and our regularly scheduled condo maintenance items, early check-ins and late checkouts cannot be accommodated at this time. Almost all of our bookings are back to back (same day in, same day out) which makes things trickier. If you have a late flight out or an early flight in, we highly recommend that you consider booking an extra night if it’s available to better accommodate your flight schedule if you want to arrive early or depart late. Kihei has six miles of Sunkissed beaches.
Kihei is less crowded.
Kihei is considered to be much more “authentic Maui”.
Kihei is more laid back.
The longest beach walk in Maui is in Kihei.
Kihei is more private, intimate, and affordable.
Kihei has the least amount of rain of anywhere on Island and is much more laid back.
Kihei is closer to: Haleakala (hiking), road to Hana, Iao Valley, and the airport.
Kihei is also closer to Paia, Makawao, Upcountry, Kahului, and Maalaea.
Kihei is only 15 minutes from the main airport in Kahului and Kaanapali is an hour.
Kihei (the condo area of the south side) has more family restaurants than the condo area of the west side.
Wailea (the luxury area of the south side) is a quieter area than Kaanapali (the luxury area of the west side).
Higher end resorts like Four Seasons, Andaz, Grand Wailea, and Kealani are all in Wailea which is just 5 miles away from Kihei.
Wailea also has world class golf courses and an award winning spa.
The nicest shopping is also in Wailea (very upscale).
Only one road in and out of the west side and if the road gets shut down due to an accident, you could be trapped. This is just one more reason why I would always choose Kihei.

Please note we also happily provide ample laundry detergent for your entire stay. The HEATED SWIMMING POOL and bbq grills are on the 2nd floor. You will need a key to access the area. The key is hanging inside the condo on the hook by the front door. Please return this key when you depart.
~ We offer beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrella, and a cooler. For hygiene reasons, we don’t provide shared snorkel equipment — Kevin, our activity partner, can arrange guided snorkel tours for you. Additionally, we have many locally owned, rental facilities right in Kihei that offer snorkel equipment.
Kihei Food Oasis at South Maui Gardens is directly next door. There are lots of food trucks there, and they are open 7 days a week from 11am to 8pm with live music every Saturday.
Other things to note
Due to our property cleaners’ schedules and our regularly scheduled condo maintenance items, early check-ins and late checkouts cannot be accommodated at this time. Almost all of our bookings are back to back (same day in, same day out) which makes things trickier. If you have a late flight out or an early flight in, we highly recommend that you consider booking an extra night if it’s available to better accommodate your flight schedule if you want to arrive early or depart late. Maui has been voted the "Best Island in the World" for over 23 years. With daytime temperatures ranging from roughly 85 degrees F during the winter, it's easy to see why Maui is such a popular destination choice and the #1 island in the world.
Here’s why I think the South side of the island (where Kihei is located) is the best place to stay. South Maui really has it all! ;)
The sunny South shores of Kihei offer 6 miles of popular, sun kissed beaches with warm, balmy days and cool, tropical nights.
Typically, humidity levels in Kihei are VERY LOW and the annual rainfall in Kihei is LESS than anywhere else on island. :)
Kihei is a sizable beach town with plenty of places to eat and fun things to do. Kihei is definitely the hub for Maui surf lessons and is considered the true pivoting point for all of Maui’s popular outdoor activities.
Most of the accommodation options in Kihei will be condos with full kitchens (enabling you to save even more money if you choose to cook a couple meals at home).
Kihei is definitely less crowded and more affordable than the West side.
The beaches in Kihei are more plentiful, also less crowded, and quite a bit more accessible than those on the West side. You will definitely find more parking and better marked beaches in South Maui. In addition, most of the beaches in Kihei can be seen right from the road and Kihei offers totally free parking unlike the West side. ;)

~ The National Humpback Museum and Whale Education Center for Maui is within 3 miles of the condo. They offer free educational classes and plenty of free, outdoor telescopes so you can get an up close and personal view of the Humpback Whales swimming and jumping in the ocean just in front of the museum.

Lahaina and Ka’anapali (West side) are a one hour drive from the main airport, and Kihei is only 15 minutes. In addition, the condo is only 9 miles away from the main airport in Kahului. ;)
Finally, worth mentioning, is the fact that there is only “one road in and one road out” for the West side of the Island. When that road gets shut down due to a car accident, you will be trapped for hours and hours (sometimes even overnight). This is one more reason why I always choose Kihei over the West side. :)

When Airbnb was first created, I was one of only eight listings in all of Maui. My claim to fame is that Brian Chesky, himself, actually called me. Brian is one of the three Airbnb founders. Back then, I had also listed my car on Airbnb, and Brian said I was the first person to ever list a car on his platform. He thought it was interesting, and we had a very nice telephone conversation.
By the end of 2020, Maui had over 18,000 vacation rental listings. The Airbnb platform has grown exponentially. I am truly honored to be a part of it all; both as an owner and as a property manager and will continue to tell everyone how wonderful Airbnb is for hosts and travelers alike.
Everybody, no matter where they are, can live ALOHA. Maui is a great way to unlock the positive spirit within all of us.....
