This apartment is central situated, across the water of Central Station. Ferries go up and down, day and night for free in less then two minutes and give you a look at Amsterdam from the water.
Parking infront of the house
Close to the cheapest outdoor market of Amsterdam!
van der Pekmarket :) Place to parc your car, close to nature on the north side, multi cultural, no posh. Alternative.
Located at a central point, across the Ij river from Central Station. This means you are almost direct in the city but still in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. Good to relax after a day in Amsterdam...
The filmtheater 'Eye' is a new venue where people can see (art)movies and docu's. Paradiso's newest opening is at the Tolhuistuin. Here you can see concerts or go to parties. Both the Eye and Tolhuistuin are just a climbs away.
The distance from the house to Central Station is again ideal. Free, day and night ferries will drop you at the other side of the river Ij, Central Station. From Central you can either choose to walk straight to Damsquare in 5-10 minutes, bend a bit left fot the red light district in less then 5 minutes or hit to the old Jordan area ,with the AnneFrank House near the Westertower, which is situated on your right while leaving Central Station.
The Van Goghmuseum, Rijksmuseum, museum of modern art and Classical Concerthall are easy to reach with again either a tram or by feet. Walking to the Museumsquare from Central station will take about 20/30 minutes.
Now, if you are up to go partying you can contact me to help out finding the best parties in town. I am quitte experienced with partying myself ;) and can give you advice in whatever music genre you are in to.
If you come from Schiphol airport, the best way to reach the apartment is to take a train to Central Station at the mainhall. Ask the informationdesk what kind of public transport ticket(s) you can best purchase for the total time in the city and the variety of transport you can use.
Ones at Central Station, you take the Buiksloterweg free ferry at the ferrydock. Ones across you walk in about 10 minutes or take bus 38 two stops.
I will be there or Niels will be there (or both) to welcome you.

The neighborhood is on the side of the tourist area. 'Normal' Amsterdam people live here. But it is getting more and more known. Venues like the Tolhuistuin and the Eye choose this part of the city. It used to be the old harbour shipdock area but because, just like in other western cities, the industries moved out, the old buildings are now getting modern destinations. The Ndsm dock, for example, today is place were artstudio's and festivals take place.

Marlise was a wonderful host, always willing to satisfy our needs and very friendly. The room is even more beautiful than in the picture. Recommend to everyone the Marlise's apartment!
Ci siamo trovati davvero benissimo!
Ha sido genial la estancia en casa de Marlise, tiene muy buen rollo en su casa junto con su marido.
La habitación era cómoda y tranquila, además de estar muy cerca del centro.
Ha sido una gran experiencia y estamos encantados.

Marlise is a super nice host. The house is in good location and the room is quiet and clean. You can use the kitchen to cook for yourself, and there is a AH super market near to the house, thus you can buy cheap food to cook. Just feel like at home~
If you are going to stay at Marlise’s place, sure you are a very luck person!
Very nice place, quiet and easy to access. near from the tourist area. Marlise is a really nice person, who is gives much attention to the visitors and make sure you are all right. The room is completely beautifull, Marlise decorates it in a way that looks like a relax spa or a meditation center. The cat is awesome. If you accidently let the door open unwatched he may say hello. It was a really nice stay and definitely worth it.

Hello, nice to meet. I teach Geography and am a Waldorf (Steiner) teacher. I like children and travelling, combiding the two i did when my daughter (now 17) was younger. Together we lived for half a year in India where I worked as a teacher and she helped out as a student/assistent. At the moment my daughter is studying to become a biologic-dynamic farmer! We've met Niels two years ago. The big dream is to go off the grid in France. Build a Permaculture garden, enjoy each other and the beautifull Earth!
