Interaction with Guests
We have a local housekeeper, Linda, who will ensure that your stay runs smoothly.
Nézignan l’Evêque was in the possession of the bishops of Agde for 800 years and lies on a hill that gives it its typical provincial character. The around 600 year old, fully restored house complex is situated in the quiet, listed heart of the village that is one of the rare villages built in the spiral method - so-called 'en circulade' - of the Middle Ages to defend itself better. The sunny village, surrounded by vineyards, has its own bakery, post office, bar, good restaurant and small grocer.
Only 3km away is the wonderful little town of Pézenas with its historic old town, restaurants, antique shops, weekly market and good shopping. The closest beaches are only 15km away; other long, attractive sandy beaches are between Agde and Sète as well as in the direction Narbonne - all three places well worth a visit. Inland is a wildly romantic area with canyons, caves, Lake Salagou with sailing and beautiful hiking trails in a rocky Mediterranean landscape.
There is a bus to Pezenas and the local villages around, but a car is advisable. There is ample parking nearby.
Other Things to Note
The end cleaning charges, linen, towels, utilities, etc. are included in the price. Unless you wish a private cook, extra cleaning, babysitting or suchlike, there are no extra charges.
Please ensure all waste is properly deposited into the correct bins. Cleaning supplies are all there for you on the day of departure. Please leave the house tidy as you found it.
While you are not expected to sweep, vacuum and mop everywhere, you are expected to:
Leave the kitchen clean and appliances (oven, hob etc.,) cleaned, dishwasher emptied and filter cleared of any debris. The cleaners will do the final and thorough cleaning and linen washing.
Have a good time but please get rid of the empties.
