Michael's apt is exactly as listed. It's a comfortable, well-maintained space in a building with 6 apts. There is a secure, indoor parking space for a car. Safe and secure, it's in a lively neighborhood within a block of a supermarket. A large mall is within minutes of the apt. There are small restaurants and well as all the popular fast food places nearby.
Driving one's own car or using public transportation is challenging because of heavy traffic. Several universities are near the apt and timing is everything. It takes patience to move about when classes dismiss in the late afternoon and again around 9pm. A GPS is essential because streets are not marked very well. Depending on the time, getting to downtown by car or bus can take 15 minutes or over 1 hour.
Michael was a gracious host. He is usually not on site but arranged to meet us at apt. He told us about the neighborhood and showed us everything we needed to know about apt. We were staying 3 months and wanted cable. While we paid for it, Michael was gracious and went to company to arrange for installation. We had reason to call Michael on several occasions for info and for minor concerns about apt and he was always readily available.
This is an ideal place to stay to see the city. It was also a great base from which to visit many parts of the country.
You can't go wrong with Michael and his apartment.
About the Host, Michael D'Angelo
Expat been living in Costa Rica for 14 years. Love it here but have business in USA which requires frequent travel of 3-6 weeks at a time. Originally from San Francisco, CA (go Niners), now prefer living in Latin America. Traveled extensively in Costa Rica, Colombia, the Caribbean, and Panama. Always happy to advise tourists. I enjoy traveling, good food, beaches, meeting new people, and an occasional game or tournament of poker. I won't be in apt, but will be available on phone anytime. Apt is brand new and very comfortable.
