Interaction with Guests
Jeg snakker norsk, parlo italiano, I speak English unt eine bischen deutsch!
Even though the neighborhood is situated in the middle of the city center, it feels like on the country side, where everything is very peaceful.
In the neighborhood there is all closely habitated wooden-houses, very relaxing, calm and living, and with traditional stone pavements. Ideal also for children, as there is playground very close.
The nearest air shuttle bus stop is 750 meters distance, and is called Hotel Norge, in Christies Gate. When you go off the bus in street "Christies Gate", go back the way the bus came from. Then when arriving to the crossroad of street "Nygårdsgaten", take right. You will arrive after some hundred meeters at Scandic Hotel, continue a bit and you will take first left. From there on, you will see some brick stones on the streets, and walk on those, following the bend towards the right. You will pass a small playground, and you are basically there. Continue a few meters, look for a small street that goes to the left and upwards, which is called Dragefjellstrappen. From Dragefjellstrappen take the first to the right on an even smaller street which is called Bratlandsmauet. Then you will recognize the red wooden house, and you can click on the doorbell.
There is a parking garage 200 meters from the house. The name of the parking garage is Klostergarasjen and its address is Vestre Murallmenningen 14. The price should be 125 NOK per 24 hour, and 5 NOK for 15 minutes.
Other Things to Note
Clean towels and bed sheets are included.
Its ok with small pets that are behaving good! Smoking can be allowed outside in the courtyard and on the balcony.
Generally quiet-time after 2200.
Great experience, very accommodating and felt at home! Would definitely stay here again.
Martin was home when I arrived to let me in and give me a quick tour of the home. The house was beautiful, the room comfortable and clean, and Martin was very warm and welcoming. Google Maps doesn't show public transit in Bergen, so Martin's advice and directions were very helpful. Definitely recommend!
Our stay at Martin's was great. Martin met us when we arrived and gave us great ideas of what to see, where to go and a variety of restaurant choices. The place was great and relaxing. Just a short walk into the center of town.
Fantastic place built in the 16'th century and Martin was an excellent, charming, kind and nice host. Highly recommended!
Martin was a great host. We enjoied the Norwegian and Fjords experience a lot in his house. It's the typical Scandinavian house you imagine.
Lovely house and host. If I would go back to Bergen I would ask Martin to stay in his house again.
