Yet another comfy Apartment smack in the middle the Colonia Condesa, one of the hippest neighborhoods in Mexico City. A short 10 minute walk from the museums in the Bosque de Chapultepec (Museo de Arte Moderno, Museo Tamayo, Castillo de Chapultepec, etc.), as well as from the Colonia Roma. A 5 minute walk from El Parque Mexico.

The apartment has one Queen size bed, and two twins. All three are real beds. it is located on the third floor.

The best supermarket in the neighborhood is across the street open from 7am-11pm, a great cheese shop bellow on the corner as well as a tasty bakery (Try the Carrot Cake or the Pear Tart). There is dry cleaning and laundry half a block away.

Transportation

The apartment is 4 blocks away from the Juanacatlan subway stop and 6 from the Chapultepec stop. Both stations are on the same transit line that takes you downtown to the Centro Historico. Transit to other subway lines is on station away at Tacubaya station, or 4 stations to Salto del Agua.

Ecobici bike service station located across the street.

If you have a car, you can park it at my house, its a 10 minute walk.

  • We did not meet our host, Morgana, but she did have a housekeeper waiting at the apartment for us when we arrived. The apartment was clean and cozy just as described-- very simple amenities, very comfortable beds. The neighborhood is easy to navigate, with lots of restaurants near by and a store conveniently across the street. Chapultepec Park is a short walk away-- what fun! I stayed here with my mother and infant son and felt very safe.

  • The short:
Not luxury, but everything you need.

    The long:
While this apartment does not have a microwave, bathtub, elevator (4th floor), TV, or a stereo, it does have everything you really need: decent WiFi, light, space, a kitchen, good location.

I would not say it's in the middle of La Condesa, it's actually on the western edge; but only a 15 minute walk to the heart of Condesa. There is a great supermarket just across the street, excellent street (email hidden) on the corner, and several cafes within a block or two.

It's a lovely, tranquil, quiet neighborhood, safe to walk around at any time of day or night, and pretty to explore.

Be aware that if you come in winter, it gets quite cold. Most apartments in D.F. (including this one) do not have heat, nor insulation. There was one small space heater that helped, but that bare tile floor was always freezing.

The hot water is intermittent. The shower will run hot for about 2 minutes, then turn cold. I discovered if you then shut it off, and slowly turn it back on, it will get hot again and stay for the length of your shower.

The refrigerator is small, half-sized.. it would be a challenge for more than two people staying there (unless you eat out all the time).
The apartment was very clean, and the cleaning lady was there to meet me when I arrived. She handed me the keys and left. A bit more of a welcome would have been nice.

The beds are comfortable, and there are plenty of closets and big windows. There is no balcony or outside space to hang out.
The photos of the apartment are accurate.

Note that the EcoBici shared bike program is only for residents. It's a great system, but cannot be accessed by tourists, as it can be in other cities like London, Paris, New York.

I never actually met the owner, but she was responsive when I had problems:
My first few days there were great. Then the internet went out for a day. The next day the electricity went out, and it took 24 hours to get an electrician out to fix it. This was a real bummer, but I can't really fault the owner - I think it was just bad luck, and that could happen almost anywhere. She did refund a portion of one night for my troubles dealing with this.

  • Wonderful apartment - just what we needed to explore an amazing part of Mexico City, and rest up after an exhausting travel schedule. Would be a fantastic place to stay for a week - full kitchen and amenities, and the wireless internet is fast and reliable. Also, there are GREAT street food options (tortas, tacos, some bean/masa hybrid) within a one block radius.

Morgana was very responsive and flexible when we needed to make last minute changes to our arrival time. Would definitely come back next time we're in Mexico City.

  • Morgana's place was exactly as advertised. Clean, comfortable and well located. Morgana herself was quick to respond to questions and easy to communicate with, even though we never actually got a chance to meet in person. Everything went very smoothly, and I would not hesitate to recommend staying with her.

  • Excellent location and nice apartment, with all that you would expect, even slippers! Morgana was very helpful with good timely communication about getting and leaving the key. There was an electrical issue the first night - not the fault of the hosts - and they had it taken care of the next day by noon and compensated us for the first night. Highly recommended.

  • Morgana's place was great! You can't beat the convenient location and great rate. It has all the amenities and was very clean and tidy. I highly recommend staying here.
