Doug was very responsive and helpful and in total I found the experience to be very much as I had hoped.
We rent this flat for 7 nights. Everything was perfect, the flat was clean with everything we need. Doug was very reactive. He answered all our emails very quickly. He was always available and helpful for our last day we the keys and our luggages.
Also, he gives us tips for restaurants and supermarkets in the neighbourhood.
The flat is really near the subway with the 4 5 & 6 trains. It's very easy to go to midtown, downtown & Brooklyn.
Our stay in NYC was just perfect.
Doug went out of his way to work with the previous nights renters to accommodate our early arrival, which was soooo helpful! While I totally didn't expect this to be possible, I appreciated the flexibility.
Convenient, clean, and comfortable, rented by nice people.
We rented this apartment for 6 nights. It was clean, quiet, stocked with everything you need, small, but large enough for a 6 day stay for 2 people. The location was wonderful, close to Central Park and very convenient to the subway. There are lots of places to eat and to get prepared foods or to shop for groceries close by. The owner provided a helpful and comprehensive guide to the area. His dining suggestions were excellent. The apartment had several NYC guidebooks, movies, and other thoughtful items for our stay. We had a wonderful time on our trip!
Because it was unseasonably hot in NYC this Christmas, we did have the need to open the windows while we were in the apartment. During the daytime, the smell of pizza was pretty strong in the apartment. At night, after the pizza shop closed, it was much better. This might be a common situation for apartments located above restaurants.
All in all, this was a great choice for our trip and I highly recommend it.
The place is great. Cozy, clean, and well located. We booked on short notice, so Doug met us with the keys and gave us a quick rundown. He was gracious, helpful, and very accommodating. The flat comes with a voluminous binder of helpful information, and is comfortable, quiet, and really well maintained. The neighborhood is friendly, and it's a quick walk of a few blocks to the subway. I highly recommend this place.
We stayed here for a week while visiting in nyc. The place was very neat and tidy and we were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was. I had done other Airbnb before with another friend and I found Doug to one of the better hosts. He was very responsive and helpful with my questions and left a very useful book of guides around the neighbourhood and maps. The was also extra linen and he thoughtfully included shampoo and body wash. The metro was very close, there was a pharmacy, bank, resturant, AT&T and shops nearby. The place also close to museums and central park and so it was nice to be on the upper east and not crowded in midtown with other tourists day and night!
Nice studio, we stayed there for 3 nights with 3 persons. The studio is great because we only stayed there for a good night sleep. The metro right around the corner. There are several restaurants and shops in the neighbourhood. We have no complaints at all! Doug always reacts immediately when you mail.
Doug and Claudia's apartment was perfect for our first family vacation to New York. The apartment was clean, quiet, close to the subway and Central Park and was fully stocked with everything we needed (including a blow dryer and umbrellas for the one rainy day we had). The bed and sofa bed were both very comfortable. Doug's hospitality was exceptional. He responded to all e-mails and texts right away and provided an abundance of useful information including great restaurant recommendations, the closest grocery store and the best way to get to the airport. When I let Doug know that the coffee maker did not work, he replaced it that day. We highly recommend Doug and Claudia's apartment!
Really just repeating what everyone else says, but it bears doing so: this place is wonderful. Super comfortable bed, great sheets, immaculate, relaxing. The location is 3 blocks from the train. Doug does checkin in an ingenious way so there's no waiting around, you just arrive at the apartment and settle right in. Everything is precisely laid out so as to be seamlessly convenient. Doug was super responsive to emails and texts, and was awesome about letting me leave my bags for a couple hours on the day I left so I wouldn't have to wheel them about with me while I did some shopping. All in all: perfect.
