  • A charming apartment in a fantastic location! We loved the neighborhood and its proximity to Central Park and Museum Mile, as well as the subway and some great eateries.

Doug and Claudia were very thoughtful, leaving us a compendium of tips and suggestions. They were also very helpful and responsive to any queries we had along the way.

Thank you again Doug & Claudia, for your hospitality!

  • My stay in this apartment was a really good experience. This was my first stay ever in New York and I am happy that I choose this apartment instead of a hotel, giving my living a feeling of "at home". I was here for work reasons and it was relaxing to "go home" in the evening and enjoy the calm of the apartment.

The apartment was clean, and more than well equipped (umbrellas, films and guide books, detailed and good instructions regarding the apartment, comfortable bed, kitchen equipment, etc). I also appreciated the calm and silence away from the street, the neighbourhood offering not only some of the greatest museums in the world (I warmly recommend the Egyptian dept of the Metropolitan) but also Fairways, and an innumerable choice of restaurants, diners, and Take Aways. The Subway was very near as well.

Thanks Doug also for being so helpful and quick to reply to my questions!

  • We stayed in Dougla's apartment for one week and had a great time there. The apartment has a great location, near the subway station and close to many museums and places to visit. Moreover Doug it's an incredible host, he was super responsive, we arrived by 8am a Saturday morning and he was already there ready to help us with the baggage. Also, the apartment has everything you could possible need. Great place to stay in NY!

  • My husband and I stayed at Doug and Claudia's for 3 weeks. We had a great time. The apartment was exactly as advertised, and the location was very convenient to major attractions and the subway line (having quick access to the express trains were a bonus!). We also had a few packages delivered, and Doug collected and dropped them off for us. The check-in was very easy. Our flight was quite delayed (and late in the evening!), but Doug waited for us and oriented us to the apartment. Doug remained highly responsive throughout our stay. The neighbourhood was safe and quiet, and had everything we needed within walking distance (groceries, laundry, cafes, restaurants, shops, etc.). The layout of the apartment was great; we didn't feel crammed. The bed and sheets were comfortable, and we liked that shampoo/conditioner/body wash was all provided. Doug also came by once a week to change our sheets and towels. Overall, we had a fantastic experience, and highly recommend this flat.

  • The apartment is a single large room with a bathroom. The furnishings are of good quality and comfortable and the kitchen etc have everything one could need. Local shopping for food etc is convenient and the variety and quality are good. The subway is nearby and it is a short walk to the museums of 5th etc.
Doug was very responsive and helpful and in total I found the experience to be very much as I had hoped.

  • We rent this flat for 7 nights. Everything was perfect, the flat was clean with everything we need. Doug was very reactive. He answered all our emails very quickly. He was always available and helpful for our last day we the keys and our luggages.
Also, he gives us tips for restaurants and supermarkets in the neighbourhood.
The flat is really near the subway with the 4 5 & 6 trains. It's very easy to go to midtown, downtown & Brooklyn.
Our stay in NYC was just perfect.

  • Doug went out of his way to work with the previous nights renters to accommodate our early arrival, which was soooo helpful! While I totally didn't expect this to be possible, I appreciated the flexibility.

Convenient, clean, and comfortable, rented by nice people.

  • We rented this apartment for 6 nights. It was clean, quiet, stocked with everything you need, small, but large enough for a 6 day stay for 2 people. The location was wonderful, close to Central Park and very convenient to the subway. There are lots of places to eat and to get prepared foods or to shop for groceries close by. The owner provided a helpful and comprehensive guide to the area. His dining suggestions were excellent. The apartment had several NYC guidebooks, movies, and other thoughtful items for our stay. We had a wonderful time on our trip!

Because it was unseasonably hot in NYC this Christmas, we did have the need to open the windows while we were in the apartment. During the daytime, the smell of pizza was pretty strong in the apartment. At night, after the pizza shop closed, it was much better. This might be a common situation for apartments located above restaurants.

All in all, this was a great choice for our trip and I highly recommend it.

  • The place is great. Cozy, clean, and well located. We booked on short notice, so Doug met us with the keys and gave us a quick rundown. He was gracious, helpful, and very accommodating. The flat comes with a voluminous binder of helpful information, and is comfortable, quiet, and really well maintained. The neighborhood is friendly, and it's a quick walk of a few blocks to the subway. I highly recommend this place.

About
A little about us - Doug and Claudia met in late September 2001, and have been together ever since. Doug is originally from Wisconsin and Claudia is from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Our helper, little Olivia, is a native New Yorker. We're both educated, neat professionals who've decided to make New York our home. Like you, we enjoy visiting new places whenever we can - Paris and Northern Spain last year. We're believers in what airbnb offers, and have enjoyed the hospitality we've received in the homes of others far more than anything that can be found in a five-star hotel.
