Host was clear with instruction on arrival and someone pleasant, friendly, and reliable was there to meet us even though our flight was a little late arriving. Photos are accurate, apartment is great, Location is excellent! This was an overall great stay. Should I stay in Vancouver in the future this will be my first choice!
Thanks Blake a for a great stay!
My husband and I had never used Airbnb before, so credibility was a huge factor for us in choosing a place to stay in Vancouver. Besides the unit itself and location, Blake's strong track record was one of the main reasons we decided to make a reservation here. Throughout the entire process Blake was extremely quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. With advance notice, he was able to arrange for a garage parking spot to be included in our stay -- a HUGE help. Though Blake was not personally able to check us in, his friend Corinne was very welcoming, helpful, and patient (we were stuck in standstill traffic for over an hour and delayed in meeting up with her at our appointed check in time -- add 2+ hours to your travel time if driving in from the south on a week day). The unit was as described and had clean sheets, towels, and dishes/silverware (in the kitchen cupboards) ready for us. With the blinds down during the day and the windows open at night, we didn't have any trouble keeping the unit cool. The location was ideal -- just a couple blocks away from the row of Yaletown eateries, 5 blocks from a bike rental place to bike the seawall and Stanley park (a must-do!), and 5 blocks from a ferry to Granville Island (a touristy and skip-able activity). The unit was quiet with no noise from neighbors and just city ambient noise at night with the windows open. There's plenty of coffee bars, both cheap and pricey places to eat nearby, and just a nice local neighborhood vibe. We'd recommend Blake's place to a friend.
The apartment in Yaletown was very comfortable with fabulous views. The location was ideal, close to the skytrain rail and a number of eateries, both budget and upmarket. Blake responded to all of our enquiries promptly and organised our greeting and handover in his absence. I would recommend this apartment to anyone spending time in Vancouver.
This was our first overseas use of Airbnb and it was a good experience. Although we didn't meet Blake, he was very helpful and replied very quickly to any queries we had. Our flight arrived early in the day and he went out of his way to arrange earlier access for us to the flat and also made a parking spot available on a couple of days when we hired a car. The apartment was a few short blocks from the train station which made it easy to get to from the airport and then easy to get around Vancouver. The apartment was well appointed, the bed was very comfortable (and sheets were excellent). We didn't really make use of all the facilities available in the unit block as we were out most of the day, but it served our needs very well.
My wife and I stayed at Blake's place for 3 nights. It was in an ideal location for two people new to Vancouver. Nothing seemed too far away and it is very close to the shops, bars and eateries of Yaletown. The place is clean, tidy, comfortable and well stocked with everything you need. Blake was a great communicator. He arranged everything in advance and collecting keys was hassle free. Overall we had a great experience and would highly recommend this apartment and Blake as a host.
Blake was a fantastic host. Communication couldn't have been better. He even reached out after we had already checked in to make sure we were OK. Neighborhood was prime and walking distance to everything! I felt like a real local in the Yaletown neighborhood! Great breakfast spot behind the building called the Twisted Fork...or maybe it was the Crooked Fork? Get there before 9:30 for no line. The parking spot Blake was able to provide was amazing and allowed us to drive an hour south to hike Lake Garibaldi which was an experience I will never forget! The place was super clean which is a huge factor for me. High speed internet, great pressure shower and laundry was a great bonus. Views were amazing - our friends staying down the street at the Westin were very impressed with our place vs. their much more expensive hotel room. Despite having the softest bed linens I've ever slept in, the sleep was a bit below average for us....we found the bed to be uncomfortable for two people. I checked all the reviews before us and they all left stellar reviews with regards to bed comfort, so maybe we are just extremely picky. I think the mattress was Ikea which I hear a lot of people really like. Overall, for the price I thought this place was a good find.
We had a wonderful weekend at Blake's place. We were welcomed by his housekeeper Jane and absolute blown away by how beautiful his condo was. The space was identical to the pictures, clean, refreshing, and beautiful. We will definitely come back!
About the Host, Blake
Hi! My name's Blake, I've lived in Vancouver since 2004 and am a big fan of the outdoors, sports, and traveling.
I am able to do my job via internet so I can work from anywhere in the world, provided that there's reliable internet. Over the past couple of years I have tried to take advantage of this and I try and do as much traveling as possible, and typically rent out my place when I'm out of town. I take a lot of pride in making sure my guests enjoy them selves when they are staying in my apartment.
