About This Listing
Catering for Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten Free and Guests that eat anything.
Relax with us and enjoy the excellent beaches and walks that North Wales offers.
Our prices are NOT inflated for school holidays!
Friendly hosts with 2 lovely rooms, our main room has the bedroom, good sized en-suite with bath and shower and your own sitting room with sofa (converts to a bed - suitable for child, teenager or adult), TV/DVD player, dining table, microwave oven and cutlery/crockery etc. You also have your own lockable door giving you direct access from the sitting room to your car and to the outside sitting area and garden.
The second room has its own sink but is not en-suite, you'll have access to the owners shower room/toilet. This room is great for parents, older children or friends.
We have noticed that guests don't always want a big breakfast so our accommodation price has been reduced and a continental style breakfast is included in the price. If you want a full breakfast let us know and this will be provided at an additional £5 per person/day. (payable when you're here) We cater for Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten Free guests if you let us know in advance.
We are open all year and are in a brilliant location on the coast, enjoying wonderful mountain and estuary views. The coastal train station is just 7 minutes walk from the house.
Two friendly dogs live in the house too, as you can see from the photographs. The house itself is located at Llandecwyn, between Harlech and Porthmadog on the west Wales coast. Each room has Freeview TV and a reasonably fast WiFi facility is available at no extra cost.
Llandecwyn is a very small community but there are very good eateries in the area. Out of the holiday season the roads are quiet and the beaches empty. If photography is your thing, you'll be spoilt for choice. Local steam railways abound in the area, look at Porthmadog online for a feast of all things locomotive and steamy! Mountain climbing, backpacking, hill walking, cycling, mountain biking, high ropes courses, white water rafting, slate museums - all in the area and guaranteed to keep you busy.... The new Wales Coastal Path passes within 100 yards of our front door!
PLEASE NOTE: Our minimum stay period is 2 consecutive nights.
The accommodation should provide you with sufficient space to spread out, however, the garden is yours to enjoy as well. You are welcome to bring take-aways back to the house and your microwave oven will heat suitable ready meals too.
Interaction with Guests
If you don't want to chat, you don't have to - but we love to hear what our guests have been up to. You are welcome to sit around the log fire with us in the winter or relax with a drink in the conservatory.
Our home is on the coast and within the Snowdonia National Park,
Enjoy huge beaches, mountains and country walks ranging from a good plod to extremely demanding.
The roads in this part of the country are among the best I've seen and a great playground for Motorcyclists. As a biker myself (R1200GS Adventure) I can recommend great places to ride to and visit, Snowdon is the highest mountain in England and Wales and is 20 minutes away by car. If you don't want to climb it - take the train! (NOTE: during holiday season book the Snowdon train online at least 3 days before you want to ride! It is very popular!)
Generally, you are better off having your own transport and with the amount of places to visit, it can be difficult if you rely on public transport. Having said that the bus stops at the bottom of our road and the coastal train station at Llandecwyn is a 7 minute walk away. All the routes and timetables are online and you are welcome to use our laptop or your own device to check route details.
Other Things to Note
Please let us know in advance if there are any things we can arrange for you, booking tables at restaurants etc. Also, any special dietary requirements that we may need to shop specifically for. Porthmadog has one of the best Vegan food shops in the country, which is handy!
Please note our House Rules.

Perfect hosts! Enjoyable accommodations. Close to many outdoor adventures. Pleasant hike starts just down the block. Many breakfast choices. Would love to go back if travel plans permit.
Graham and Tainia made us feel very welcome in their home, and the guest accommodation is a great base for exploring Snowdonia, with a hearty breakfast to set you up for the days adventures. Would love to return in the summer to enjoy the garden (with stunning views) and perhaps a bbq! May even take the dogs home with us
Graham and Tainia were wonderful hosts who made us feel extremely welcome right from the start. The communication while booking with them was excellent. They are a very accomodating and friendly couple who genuinely seem to care that their visitors have a great time and go out of their way to provide information and help to their guests. One of many such examples of this during our three night stay included them rushing us to the train station (by the way this is very close – only a five min walk from the house) in their car, and then dashing out and stopping the train for us! They love to chat and find out about their guests and by the end of the stay they felt like friends rather than hosts.
The location is stunning, overlooking an estuary with the beautiful village of Port Meirion in the distance and mountain scenery. The downstairs room was very clean and comfortable. It had a very good double bed with an ensuite bathroom as well as our own lounge attached to the deck with stunning hillside views. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very dark which made for a good sleep and having the private living room area to relax was an added bonus for a bed and breakfast. The bathroom was spacious, and as Tainia is into her aromatherapy, there were lots of bath oils, bath bombs, candles etc. that combined with the soft uplighting in the bathroom, were perfect for a nice soak in the bath after a day exploring the mountains (or in our case dancing at Festival No. 6!).
Tainia and Graham also provide a fantastic breakfast that adds to the value for money of their property and the overall feeling was that they aim to please and make their guests happy. For breakfast there was a wide range of cereals and muselis, and many homemade extras such as bread, jam, marmalade and yoghurt with a wide choice of teas and freshly brewed coffee. All available to eat in a nice conservatory, or they are happy for you to take it down on to the decked area below where you can take in the fresh morning air and stunning views.
To summarise, Graham and Tainia were the perfect hosts, in an excellently located area for exploring Snowdonia and the North Wales coastline. The bed and breakfast is exceptional value for money and the hosts warm and friendly personalities coupled with a range of special extra touches makes this a great place to stay. We would recommend this property to anybody.
Graham and Tainia were wonderful hosts who made us feel welcome right from the start. They were extremely willing to answer our questions and provided really good input as to possible activities based on the very changeable weather! The rooms were really comfortable and the views from the house spectacular! We would highly recommend their home to anyone wishing to visit the beautiful countryside of Wales - a first class accommodation and welcome are guaranteed!
Jederzeit gerne wieder! Danke an euch zwei!
Graham and Tainia were extremely welcoming hosts (Their dogs were very welcoming too). When I first arrived and settled in Tainia and I took our dogs on a walk and I have to say it is one of the most beautiful places I have been. Graham made a delicious and filling breakfast the next day. In fact so filling I didn't need to eat again until that night, even after a full day of hiking! They are both extremely knowledgeable of the area and recommended a great place for me to hike. That night we took the dogs out onto the estuary to have a run around and both my dog and I thoroughly enjoyed it plus we got a tour around Harlech after. I would recommend this stay to anyone. The bed is very comfy and you have your own bathroom and sitting room. I ended up staying upstairs most of the time though, chatting away. They are great hosts and I would love to stay with them again .
About the Host, Graham And Tainia
Graham & Tainia moved to the west coast of North Wales to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the area. Graham had been a Police officer for 30 years and Tainia taught children with severe learning difficulties. Nowadays Graham dabbles in woodcraft whilst Tainia is again practising Aromatherapy. We both enjoy backpacking, mountain walking and cycling and now run this small B&B, almost exclusively for Airbnb guests. We love having people stay, so rest assured you'll be well looked after!
ps.... if you're a motorcyclist, you'll be in for a treat, the roads here offer some great biking and even better views, a sunny day ride through the Lleyn Peninsular is a must!
