We re-imagined a single family home & created a beautiful 2nd floor, urban-chic flat. We enjoy the city's best weather & arguably the most exciting & convenient location in all of Mill Valley. The best our "village" has to offer is just steps away!
Soaring ceilings with expansive windows, you will love the dramatic light throughout the day. Vintage hardwood floors in the hall/living/dining areas and plush carpet in the bedrooms. Our spacious three bedrooms (1 en suite) sleep 6 comfortably. Enjoy two full-baths including a tub in the master. The "urban" experience is created both by the downtown location that we enjoy and the landmark building in which we occupy. We are a "mixed-use" building that features a beauty- salon, exercise studio and a one-bedroom apartment (Long-term rental).
Truly the ideal year-round destination location due in part to our temperate climate and proximity to San Francisco, The Wine Country, Lake Tahoe, Silicon Valley, Monterey, Carmel, Muir Woods National Monument, beaches, etc.

Interaction with Guests
I'm available to my guests as needed but I give generous space/privacy. I'm happy to give recommendations and even a little historical perspective to those who ask. I am third generation Mill Valley, raising my children (The fourth generation) in this idyllic town that we are grateful to call home.
Mill Valley is located in Southern Marin and has its own micro-climates as does the County of Marin. I'm pleased to inform you that our flat is located in the Downtown adjacent to the Middle Ridge neighborhood, which is widely considered the best weather in Mill Valley. Please trust me when I say that there are some areas of town that are blustery on good days. The downtown is as urban as a place can be that is surrounded by redwood trees, wildlife, (Naturally occurring) parks, streams, creeks, trails and of course Mount Tamalpais. "Mt.Tam" is the "crown jewel" of Mill Valley and perhaps the Bay Area as a whole.
Mill Valley's Bus Depot is directly down the street from us, only a one-minute walk. Catch commuter buses to San Francisco or head into picturesque Sausalito. While there, adventure over to Alcatraz or Angel Islands via ferry.
It's an approximate 40 minute trip by car to San Francisco International Airport. The Oakland International Airport can be reached in approximately 45 minutes.

We immensely enjoyed our week in Mill Valley and would definitely come back again. This place seemed to be 2 minutes away from everything in downtown Mill Valley - shops, restaurants, coffee, market, theatre.... It rained (apparently for the first time in six months) for the last few days we were there and the fireplace was very cozy. Nice kitchen and comfortable beds...
We recommend Equator for some awesome java and there's a great little bookstore down by the old train station. The Mill Valley Market is perfect for wines, cheeses, etc..
Gary was very helpful and made us feel right at home.
Thanks and save us a few weeks this summer!

I extended my stay in Gary's place.
Gary is such a great host, always attentive to your well being.
His place is quite charming in Mill Valley's heart downtown, and it was lovely to use the fireplace on rainy days.
Gary is a great host: very helpful, highly tuned to your needs without being to intrusive. We were welcome with delightful crackers, and wine. The place was clean, well furnished, close to all amenities.
A great place to stay!
I consider myself lucky to be able to live and work in a town that is so accessible to the things that I love. For instance, I can travel to the Sierra and catch fresh powder in the morning, return home and head to a beach & jump in the ocean by late afternoon, wash up & be seated at my favorite San Francisco restaurant that evening - All in the same day!
