The Bachlaufen Haus resort, found at an altitude of 1,310m, beside a stream, is made up of 6 apartments, located close to the centre of the town and about 800 metres from the cable railway of Mount Elmo (2,433m) from which numerous ski runs begin. The residence is elegantly furnished and has received prestigious international recognition for the quality of its service. Why choose Sesto-Sexten? Because it is identical to how it was one hundred years ago, with its Tyrolese hotels, snow-covered houses and wood substituting cement.
The nearest fittingses are those of: Gallo Cedrone - 2200 m of height (on the Elmo mountain - 2.433 m high); Lawns of Croda Rossa (2000m) with red descents and a very steep black footstep; Baranci (1500 m) and Croce Mountain(1640 m). Sexten is also the country of the ski leading (Val Fiscalina).
But Sexten is not only ski and excursions but also history. The Dolomiteses of Sexten were in fact theater of the First World war (phone number hidden) the battles of Croda Rossa. Of the Three Tops of Lavaredo, of Monte Piano, of the Val of Landro and Cima Undici (where there is the famous Alpines road).
One of your preferred areas for excursions will certainly be the Natural Park , south of Sesto- S.Candido – Dobbiaco which extends for 11,650 hectares. You will be able to admire a unique and spectacular view: lawns full of trees with larchs, lily’s, orchids, mineral springs and animals of several different species: chamois, roe deer, foxes, squirrels, ermines, hares...
Our family - 2 adults, 4 kids (11,9,6,2) at time of travel. The Villa Del Pina is a beautiful, large vacation home in Piano Di Sorrento. The location of the Villa is high up on the mountainside, offering a great view of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the lights of Positano. The unit is split into 3 possible configurations, one unit on top with 3 bedrooms, and two units on the bottom, which can be joined together. To note, you can rent the entire villa and open up the interior stairs to connect top and bottom. We rented only the top, and shared the common space (pool, entry, sundeck) with another family for a short period of time. My review is of the upper and common space only. The owners/managers are nice people and were communicative and easy to deal with. The foyer is grand, opening up to a small seating area and a bookshelf. Ahead are the bedrooms and to the right the living room and kitchen. Bedroom 1 - Pull out double bed with a supplemental full size mattress on top of the flimsy one. This was a comfortable bed. Bedroom 2 - Two single beds (we pushed them together so the younger child wouldn't roll out. There is a door that opens up to the outside ping pong table area and ultimately the pool. Bedroom 3 - Master bedroom - Double (Possibly queen) bed and a stunning view of the sea. The bed itself should be improved. If you are a stomach sleeper I would suggest bringing along a flat pillow as these ones are rather large and firm. We found it a little hard to sleep. This bedroom has an A/C unit and a wall safe. Bathroom 1 - Toilet, Bidet, Sink, and Bathub/Shower. Kitchen - Small but functional, be prepared with your own spices, dish soap and towelling. Living Room - In the open space with the kitchen is a day bed, coffee table, 4 chairs and a large table that seated 6 easily. There is also an A/C unit in this room. Off of this area is bathroom. This room was really the only one with wifi access (and outdoors). It didn't really make it to the bedrooms for us. Bathroom 2 - Toilet, Bidet, Sink, and Shower. Outdoors - The Villa has a nice outdoor eating space complete with gas grill and sun cover. 6 outdoor chairs and a large table. We ate outside each morning and enjoyed the view. The pool was great, looking out over the sea, 8 chairs/loungers. Lots of lighting outdoors to move around at night. There is also a roof top deck with clothes lines set up. Our 2 year old needed a bit of supervision roaming the grounds but he faired well. There are multiple restaurants in walking distance, and a small convenience store as well. We enjoyed the restaurant Zio Sam. In summary, I would recommend this location to a friend, and would repeat my visit. Mille...
We stayed at the big villa during April 2014.
First the location to the area plus the location of the villa itself is nothing short of perfect. Not crowded but close enough (driving distance) to main towns (piano de sorrento & sorrento). Remote but in center.
The view from the apartment of the amalfitana cost line is amazing and of the best we have seen during this week of various houses we have seen along roads.
As to the villa itself. For what we wanted, needed and were expecting the villa was perfect. We were two couples and two kids (3yo and a baby of 5mon). We travelled with a car, which is important.
The villa is actually a large villa split to three Appartments, while we stayed in the big one, the other two were empty. Although each apartment has some personalized porch, Realizing they all share the same entrance, and outside , I am not sure I would have picked it, if I knew the other rooms are occupied.. It's a little too "close" for what is marketed as a private villa.
The pool was closed due to season.
I gotta admit that while the pictures in airbnb of the internals looke amazing, in reality it doesn't look exactly as great, but still it's very decent, clean, roomy and (website hidden) decoration is not for everyone's taste but it was ok.
The main hall is great, with kitchen, big dining table and mini seating area all with the great views of the coast line through big windows.
The main bedroom has amazing view, like the main hall. The bed was not the best and we hope the owner will improve that.
The other two rooms were fine and functional.
The service was great, and though Alfonso (house keeper) doesn't speak much English, he made lots of effort and on short notice to resolve any issue we had (heating on a rather cold week)
We enjoyed our stay in the villa and value for money it was indeed a great choice.
Functional, perfect location and great service is a great platform for a relaxing holiday in the area.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We stayed in this Villa in July 2013. The place is exactly as you see in the pictures. There are two Villas's in the building and we stayed in the upstairs Villa which has three bedrooms, a large and spacious living room that also serves as the open plan kitchen as you see in the pictures. The views are excellent, the pool is great and the living space perfect for a family with kids. We took day trips from the Villa to see Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii and Herculaneum . Internet access was important for us and there was good internet access all be it, its provided as a wifi from the office downstairs so we had to wifi in any room other than the living room, but considering the size of the space and the outdoor space this was not an issue.
We would certainly stay there again and loved the space and location.
If you are going there and like us arrive early, don't worry the care taker will arrive at 4, we got kind of worried and called the number in Rome and Belgium a few times ;-)
We stayed here with 2 couples (parents and grandparents) and 2 small children in July 2013. The apartment is beautiful, the ever-changing views are amazing (from the lounge, main bedroom, dining patio, rooftop patio, pool), the neighbourhood is relatively quiet, the small pool is lovely (has been tiled since pictures, looks nicer). The location is perfect as it is between Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. We loved the locals' restaurant nearby mentioned in the other reviews. The master bedroom is stunning but the other 2 bedrooms are not as nice. The Air Con is in the lounge and the master bedroom - it was great to have! But the guests in the other 2 bedrooms were quite hot at night. The guardian was very helpful and prompt to fix problems (he doesn't speak English though - but we managed!). The only real negative aspect was that we were worried about the high drop-offs with our toddler and had to supervise him very closely! There were guests in the other apartment and this was not a problem at all. For the pool, we had an informal arrangement to take turns as the pool is not so big for 2 large families. The roll-down shutters in all the rooms were great to block the light and heat.
Stefano's property is perfectly located for a trip to the Amalfi Coast, being situated on the hilltop and far enough off the main road between Sorrento and Positano to be quiet and idyllic, yet easily accessible. It has a good sea view, WIFI available, a small pool for cooling down during the summer months (usage of which does have time restrictions) and there is a small general store only a five minute walk away. We hired a car for the entirety of our trip and felt it was justified to get the best possible use out of this properties location; parking in the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento area is not cheap, but seems readily available outside of peak season.
The property is split into 3 separate units (2 units on the ground floor and 1 unit on the 1st floor) although we hired the bottom 2 units together to accommodate our party of 4 adults and a baby. Whilst our stay was reasonably comfortable and without any drama we would urge you to rent the 1st floor unit over the ground floor if it is available. The layout of the lower units means that some of the rooms are without windows and are reasonably dark and it was also possible to hear the people in the apartment above walking around, although this was not overbearing.
A few pointers: the beds are quite hard, so be prepared if you like a soft bed (like my partner) and the water pressure in the showers is not fantastic.
Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Stefano, but we were welcomed by the the House Guard (essentially the Property Manager) who gave us the low down on the house rules. His English was not fantastic, but he was a nice man and we were lucky to have an Italian in our party who could translate for us. There are complicated instructions about the disposal of garbage (a local council requirement) which were a little confusing and not well documented in English.
Overall we were very happy with our stay in Stefano's property and would definitely recommend it as an excellent place to stay when visiting the Amalfi Coast / Sorrento. If we return to the area, we'll be booking the 1st floor property and hope to get to meet Stefano himself!
L'endroit est bien avec une vue extraordinaire.
Stefano is really a nice guy. He did his best to make our stay there very pleasant.
the Villa is located in a beautiful spot overlooking the Amlfian coast. few minutes from Sorento and near several good local restaurants.
It is very well maintained , very clean and homey.
I strongly Recommend .
This villa is in a GORGEOUS location. The view is unbelievable. The apartment is decent also. Two porches to sit on to enjoy the view, plus wifi and A/C. We had 2 kids with us and the place worked well for them too. Highly recommend! And Stefano was great!!
