Where to go in Kharkov? For example, Liberty Square, which is a 20 minute walk from the apartment!
The main square of the city. This is the largest area in the Ukraine and one of the largest in Europe. It hosts folk festivals, concerts, fairs, demonstrations, rallies and other public events.
In the center of the circular perimeter of the square there is a house of state industry - Derzhprom. This is a unique architectural and historical monument of the city. It was built in the years (phone number hidden) and was the first high-rise building in the country. Derzhprom is a group of buildings, the combined transitions, located at different levels. The scale of this building are eloquent figures: the total building area of 11,000 square meters, the length of the facade of 300 meters.
To the right of Gosprom is a building of the Kharkiv National University. VNKarazin - one of the oldest and largest institutions of higher education, which was founded in 1805. The building has about 2,500 university classrooms, laboratories and academic classrooms.
Near the university, from the garden is a monument to Shevchenko its founder - VNKarazin.
Eight-story building of hotel "Kharkov" is also located in Liberty Square.
Completes the architectural ensemble of the square building of the Regional Council of People's Deputies. This building was built in 1954 on the site of the old, destroyed by the Nazis during the war.
Очень уютная и комфортабельная мини-студия.Большой плюс в быстрой коммуникации по email и по телефону.Заезжал в 4 утра,меня встретили даже в такое ранее время,что меня положительно удивило.Моя оценка 10 из 10.
We did not meet our host, although he very promptly replied to an email I sent during our stay. The apartment was furnished and located exactly as described by Dimitri, however I was still surprised by how small the place was. More than a two bedroom apartment, this basement unit is actually a tiny kitchenette with three closets which have been converted into two bedrooms and a bathroom. The TV is hard to watch due to the small size of the apartment and the angle at which the screen is bolted on the wall. That said, we did not spend much time in the unit during our vacation in Montreal and it's hard to complain given the very low price.
Very good value for your money. The place was just renovated and we were the first guest in there. We met Dimitri when we arrived and he was very nice and responsive to all our requests. The place still needed some finishing touches and the contractor was working on them. The location is OK, not far from the old town, but since it is up-hill, you still need some kind of transportation to get there. The neighbourhood is quiet and nice, with some shops and restaurants within a few blocks.
Nice area, close to the Metro. I enjoyed my time and felt comfortable in the apartment. Really enjoyed the little deck outside. Was very glad Dimitri sent me all the info ahead of town as my phone didn't work in the area and I would have never gotten in the building without his tip about pulling the door handle while entering the code.
Dimitri was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Our previous accommodation was cancelled the week before we were due to fly out. Dimitri found us a place for one night as this place wasn't available until the day after we landed. The location is superb as it is about five minutes to the metro station to take you downtown. Also a short walk to the mall and Walmart. We managed to pick some snacks and breakfast stuff up. The neighbourhood was nice and quiet and friendly. The apartment i was staying in however does not look like the one in the pictures. Something i have actually just noticed. I was in a frantic rush to book the apartment i was in that all i was concerned about was somewhere to crash. It makes little to no difference as the apartment was clean and spacious and perfect for our needs. it was quite warm and the fans helped. However being from Scotland its just not something we were used to.
The only downside for some people would be the upstairs neighbours, thin floors and no carpeting makes the walking about in the morning quite loud. If you don't plan on rising early it may not be the best bet. We were already up to head down to the race track so it made little difference. I would definitely stay in one of Dimitri's flats again, so incredibly helpful with our predicament.
I can't review the 2 bdr apt because had to change locations due to our large number of people but Dimitri made it so easy for us. He found and booked us with another host, and that place was wonderful.
Dimitri proved to be a very nice guy. He asked us several times if everything was ok, and went the extra mile to enable us to make last minute changes concerning the length of our stay. Also Netflix TV is always a big plus!
We were so lucky to choose the apartment on 23 Avgusta street. Very clean, excellent location- close to all transportation, supermarket (email hidden). Special thanks to Dmitryi - any time we needed help or had some questions - we got his response within a few hours. Staying in this apartment made our trip to Ukraine pleasant and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again for our next trip to Ukraine.
