About This Listing
Warm, quiet, well appointed 1 bedroom apartment on the intersection of 7th st and Avenue A (One of Time Out Magazine's "New Yorkiest Blocks"), ten minutes walking to any of the the F, V, 6, N, Q, and R subway lines.
Recently remodeled apartment with new furniture and well-appointed kitchen provides a serene refuge smack dab in the middle of the liveliest part of Manhattan. Dozens of amazing restaurants and shops within a one block radius, with Thompkins Square Park and a green market (on Sundays) just across the street.
There's a tempurpedic queen size bed and pillows in the bedroom, an ergonomic leather automatic recliner for laptop work, and a bunch of foam rollers and other de-stressing and stretching stuff in the sofa's ottoman. I take comfort and cooking fairly seriously.
From a logistics point, I'd like stays of a week or more, though exceptions can be made. Also, I only approve renter who have had prior reviews. Sorry, just not had the best experience with newbies to the non-hotel experience.
The housekeeper comes every other Monday from 12pm-3:30pm. Shes a sweet Polish lady who doesn't speak much English and I'd appreciate if she can do her work in an empty apartment, so please be elsewhere at that time. Also I do not ask her to change up her schedule to come in between guests, and ask that departing guests keep in mind that the next guests will encounter whatever is left behind.
Guests are okay, large groups (i.e. parties) are not - this is a quiet apartment (email hidden)ly neighborhood and the residents appreciate that combination.
Keep the kitchen and bathroom tidy - we live above two restaurants and crumbs and leftovers are an invitation to trouble.
I echo all the other positive reviews. This is a great apartment in a great location. Conrad was easy to communicate with; I felt like he cared about making our stay as pleasant as possible. The tempurpedic bed was a delight to fall into after a busy day in the city.
Great stay in Manhattan, in a very nice neighborhood, walking distance to SOHO, Nolita, Chinatown, Meatpacking, Chelsea,... even some of the Midtown, and just a stop away from Williamsburgh, Brooklyn. The apartment was very nice, warm and comfortable, there's all you can ever need, perfect accommodation... and the park in front is pretty cool! The area is surrounded by loads of bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants... impossible to choose! Though the noise from the street is barely noticeable, maybe on a hot summer it gets worse, but we had zero problem to sleep (in a great, comfortable bed). Well, the central heating gets a bit noisy at night, so it can be a bit of a trouble (except summer)... maybe just a door from the kitchen would kill the issue.
A total recomendation! If we have the chance to visit NY again this will be our choice!
Great apartment, great location - literally could not have asked for anything better. Perfect place for anyone relocating to NY and needing a short-term stay.
Our stay in Conrad's apartment was perfect. After a few weeks travelling it was a great to stay in a home rather than a hotel. We never met Conrad as he was away, but everything was available and the pick up and drop off of keys was easy and flexible. He was easy to contact and gave us other contact numbers if needed. The apartment was clean, tidy and had plenty of room. Conrad leaves a manual with details of things around the apartment such good restaurants, subways and bikes as well as information on how to operate the heater, tv etc.
The apartment was in a great area with good food and bars. It is located close to two different subway lines which will get you anywhere relatively quickly and it was a very safe area. The neighbours were great and helpful too.
When we return to New York, we would definitely consider staying at Conrad's apartment again if its available.
Hey Jodie thanks for your thoughtful feedback on coffee and the garbage - I do need to update that journal - been a year or two.
Anyway I am still readjusting from my Aussie jetlag and am glad you folks had a good time here. Melbourne is great and the eclipse was divine.
My stay in Conrad's apartment was great! The local is near great restaurants! I was with a friend, who stayed a couple of days more than me, when the storm Sandy arrived in NY. Conrad was always kind and alowed her to stay in his apartment when it was happening.
Thank You Conrad for everything!!
Très bel appartement en plein coeur de New York, exactement tel que décrit par l'annonce et les photos.
Conrad a toujours été très réactif pour répondre à mes mails (dans la journée).
Bon voisinage et marché bio en face de l'appartement le dimanche !
About the Host, Conrad
I work in marketing communications for a "smarter infrastructure" engineering company which involves fair amount of travel. So I'm looking to have my apartment and lease it, too :)
