Interaction with Guests
Lots of interaction if you'd like. I love the neighborhood and can let you know all of the cool places that only locals know!
Williamsburg is the center of the NYC creative community, therefore the neighborhood is young and Safe day or night 24 hours. The train also runs 24 hours and my apartment is a 5-8 min walk to a subway. It is one stop away from Manhattan so you will be able to get around the city fast. There lots of restaurant, coffee shops, vintage shops, bars, art and music exhibition all around my apartment. Traveling will be perfectly fine as I host often it would be my pleasure to show you around a some local places if you'd like.
Public transit is fast. J M train is 5 min away and it is one stop to manhattan. L train at Bedford stop is 6 min away and that is one stop to manhattan. Williamsburg bridge is 3 blocks away. It takes 20 min to time square. 15 min to union square. 5 min to lower east side. 20 min to Wall Street and 15 min to soho.

I stayed at this apartment twice, in two separate rooms. During the first stay the bed and room were fine (as reflected in my earlier review), although some minor aspects of the room and apartment weren’t great (described below). During my second stay in another room the bed was completely unusable – it had no structure and so I sunk into the bed. It also made very loud creaking noises every time I moved. As a result, I could not sleep. I contacted the host about the bed and he told me he would look into it, but didn’t do anything and did not offer to refund any of my stay, even though I stayed in the room for only 2 of the 7 nights I paid. Other aspects of the apartment that were less than ideal include a persistent smell in the apartment, cigarette and other smoke came from the host’s room into the apartment and my room on multiple nights, parties in the hosts room until late at night on multiple occasions, small things missing from the bathrooms and apartment including the lack of a towel hook, a toilet paper bar, a toilet in the bathroom didn’t work requiring me to open the back of the toilet (the water chamber) and flip the float down (this happened to me multiple times), the lack of any furniture in the apartment except a picnic table, and the lack of furniture in the rooms – I didn’t see a single chair in any of the rooms. These are all relatively minor details that I'd normally ignore, because I see AirBNB as an effort by both hosts and guests to work things out. But the host was unwilling to make any effort to address my difficulties with the bed which made the apartment essentially useless as a place to sleep. The fact that the host (Josh) wouldn’t consider refunding even a single night of my 7 night stay was very surprising to me because he initially seemed friendly and communicative. But it seems like he values money more than making sure his guests can get a good night’s sleep, and clearly isn’t taking the time to keep the apartment in good working condition. If you stay here I hope you don’t get the room with the unusable bed, and I hope the toilet is working and the smoke and parties don’t bother you too much, because even if these things make your stay miserable, the host’s cancellation policy means that you won’t get any refund for any nights you’ve paid for and will have to find another place to stay, which I had to do.
Joshua was great, very friendly and helpful. The place was nice and clean and had everything we needed. And the location is perfect, right in the middle of Williamsburg, a fun neighborhood in itself and just a subway stop from Manhattan.
Great place and location, the apartment is exactly like the pictures and Joshua was really fast at replying to our request.
We went to spend Christmas and considering prices in Williamsburg, this apartment was by far the best option.
Thanks for a great stay Joshua!
This is a great place to stay at in NYC. The location is perfect, in the heart of Williamsburg (but on a side street so its quiet), and close to the Williamsburg bridge, which allows you to be in Manhattan very quick. The apartment is very nice too. We were lucky since we shared it with only one other person. Thanks Joshua!
Joshua was available to help with all my questions. The apartment was great for a stay in Brooklyn. Short walk to each of the surrounding metro lines. Apartment was clean and had everything we needed. Good kitchen if you don't want to spend money out. Would definitely stay again.
Joshua was an extremely courteous and welcoming host, with a lovely apartment in an ideal location. I wouldn't hesitate to stay with him again!

I'm a designer, alive & well in Brooklyn for 3+ years. I'm in love with the modern world, bbq's, contempo. art, kooky music, basketball, the woods, the internet, friends, smiling and fun. I've bopped all over the world and appreciate berlin and london and new orleans and paris and LA just fine, but NYC wins. I'm a natural concierge and i like to host.
