About this listing
Come share our home in the historic Cooper-Young neighborhood in the heart Midtown.
Our house is inviting with plenty of space to spread out. You can expect a safe, inviting, and walkable neighborhood. Downtown is only a few minutes by car or bus.
We are opening our house and its spacious modern floor plan in one of Memphis' most historic neighborhoods. The guest bedroom is in the front of the house and is furnished with a full bed and futon chair that lays down for sleeping. There is also a third bedroom with an air mattress available for additional travelers at $15 per night.
Guests will have full access to guest bath, laundry room, open living room, large kitchen, and private backyard with grill, fire pit, and hammock.
Books, records, DVDs and video games are available to keep you content on a rainy day.
We have three bikes available for use as well.
Interaction with Guests
We love to have company and entertain but will happily give you as much space as you like. More than likely Jonathan will be cooking and likes to cook for a crowd. We're open to eating, drinking, and trading stories or will happily point you on your way to adventures in the city.
We are a short walk from many excellent bars and restaurants. Venturing outside of the neighborhood is super easy do to our central location. Whether you are heading downtown or to East Memphis, you are never more than a 10-15 minute drive away.
Although there are several very nice restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance, sites such as Graceland and Beale Street require a short drive. There are cabs available and Uber is also affordable and available.
Our house is a block away from the train tracks so you may hear some horns at night. It's certainly less than most cities' noise and we don't even notice it anymore.
Bus lines are close and Uber is available around the city. Memphis, like most cities in the South is best experienced by car as points of interest are spread out and public transportation is limited. Feel free to use our bikes to enjoy the neighborhood.
Other Things to Note
We have two giant friendly dogs that only stay outside and two cats that rule the indoor kingdom. They all love attention but will stay out of your way if your not an animal person.
No smoking inside, but the front porch and back patio are fine as long as you clean up.
