Come share our home in the historic Cooper-Young neighborhood in the heart Midtown.
Our house is inviting with plenty of space to spread out. You can expect a safe, inviting, and walkable neighborhood. Downtown is only a few minutes by car or bus.
We are opening our house and its spacious modern floor plan in one of Memphis' most historic neighborhoods. The guest bedroom is in the front of the house and is furnished with a full bed and futon chair that lays down for sleeping. There is also a third bedroom with an air mattress available for additional travelers at $15 per night.
Guests will have full access to guest bath, laundry room, open living room, large kitchen, and private backyard with grill, fire pit, and hammock.
Books, records, DVDs and video games are available to keep you content on a rainy day.
We have three bikes available for use as well.
Interaction with Guests
We love to have company and entertain but will happily give you as much space as you like. More than likely Jonathan will be cooking and likes to cook for a crowd. We're open to eating, drinking, and trading stories or will happily point you on your way to adventures in the city.
We are a short walk from many excellent bars and restaurants. Venturing outside of the neighborhood is super easy do to our central location. Whether you are heading downtown or to East Memphis, you are never more than 10-15 minutes away.
Our house is a block away from the train tracks so you may hear some horns at night. It's certainly less than most cities' noise and we don't even notice it anymore.
Bus lines are close and convenient. Feel free to use our bikes to enjoy the area and we will more than likely be happy to give you a ride somewhere when we are around.
Other Things to Note
We have two giant friendly dogs that only stay outside and two cats that rule the indoor kingdom. They all love attention but will stay out of your way if your not an animal person.
No smoking inside, but the font porch and back patio are fine as long as you clean up.
We felt totally welcome and right at home the minute we stepped foot into Jonathan and Alison's place. The location was great! Close by to the funnest part of town (I think) They even let us borrow their bikes to cruse to the coffee shop one day! We would have ridden/walked more but it was a little cold this time of year :) I would recommend this place to anyone! Thanks guys!
Jonathan and Alison have built a beautiful home and will make you feel welcome in it. Their two cats are extremely friendly, especially Jasper who will make you feel like you've been a part of the pack for years. If you spend time there be prepared to scratch their chins excessively;) I can't recommend them enough. If you need a place in memphis don't bother looking anywhere else.
Jonathan and Alison are wonderful hosts and we're really grateful that they were able to accommodate our last minute request.
We only stayed in Memphis for one night, but we really liked the apartment and the neighborhood. Our room was cozy and perfectly clean. I'd definitely stay there again!
A perfect and cosy stay in Memphis' Cooper Young neighbourhood which is just around the corner an an easy and safe walk. The house is amazing, super clean and it was probably the most comfortable bed ever! The tasty coffee in the morning was the icing on the cake!
Jonathan and Alison were wonderful hosts. The place is lovely and clean. The neighborhood is very cute and safe with a little commercial area we could walk to to grab a bite to eat and a drink. We were only able to stay one night in Memphis, but we are glad we choose to stay with them. I highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Memphis!
