About This Listing
Come share our home in the historic Cooper-Young neighborhood in the heart Midtown.
Our house is inviting with plenty of space to spread out. You can expect a safe, inviting, and walkable neighborhood. Downtown is only a few minutes by car or bus.
We are opening our house and its spacious modern floor plan in one of Memphis' most historic neighborhoods. The guest bedroom is in the front of the house and is furnished with a full bed and futon chair that lays down for sleeping. There is also a third bedroom with an air mattress available for additional travelers at $15 per night.
Guests will have full access to guest bath, laundry room, open living room, large kitchen, and private backyard with grill, fire pit, and hammock.
Books, records, DVDs and video games are available to keep you content on a rainy day.
We have three bikes available for use as well.
Interaction with Guests
We love to have company and entertain but will happily give you as much space as you like. More than likely Jonathan will be cooking and likes to cook for a crowd. We're open to eating, drinking, and trading stories or will happily point you on your way to adventures in the city.
We are a short walk from many excellent bars and restaurants. Venturing outside of the neighborhood is super easy do to our central location. Whether you are heading downtown or to East Memphis, you are never more than 10-15 minutes away.
Our house is a block away from the train tracks so you may hear some horns at night. It's certainly less than most cities' noise and we don't even notice it anymore.
Bus lines are close and convenient. Feel free to use our bikes to enjoy the area and we will more than likely be happy to give you a ride somewhere when we are around.
Other Things to Note
We have two giant friendly dogs that only stay outside and two cats that rule the indoor kingdom. They all love attention but will stay out of your way if your not an animal person.
No smoking inside, but the front porch and back patio are fine as long as you clean up.
I've only stayed for 3 nights but the location seemed safe. The bed is super comfortable and the house is very clean.
My first Airbnb experience is great. Alison is very nice to us. She keeps everything neat. Her two cats are very cute and friendly so don't be afraid of them.
To sum up, if I visit Memphis again, I will definitely live in her place again, highly recommend.
Jonathan and Alison were very welcoming and hospitable, going out of their way to make me feel at home. They have a lovely home, and the room I stayed in was clean and comfortable. The house is a short walk from an area with nice bars and restaurants. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend to others.
The room was adorable and well appointed. The bathroom was well stocked with plush towels and toiletries. They really thought of everything! Alison had plenty of hot coffee going in the morning and was thoughtful enough to provide us with Togo cups for the next leg of our journey. Can't wait to visit with them again.
We had a wonderful time at Jonathan and Alison’s home. Everything was true to their description and their home is lovely. they were very warm and inviting, and communicated well about all necessary details. I would definitely recommend staying with them, and I would stay with them again if I came back to Memphis.
Jonathan and Alison's house was a great place to stay in Memphis for the Beale Street Music Festival. There are several restaurants and galleries just blocks away, and a Saturday farmers' market. The room has a comfortable bed with a private bathroom, both impeccably clean and stocked with the comforts of home. They made coffee each morning, and I felt welcome to use the kitchen. If I have a chance to go back I will definitely stay there again, and will plan more time to explore the Cooper-Young neighbourhood. Thank you for your kind hospitality, Jonathan and Alison.
