This is a great 2 bedroom 2 bath home located in the heart of historic downtown Crested Butte on Elk Avenue. It is on the main street of our business district where you will find all of our restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Built in the late 1800s by Jacob Kochevar Jr., this home is part of the Crested Butte Walking Tour of historic buildings, and boasts hand-cut shingles and ornamentation.
This gorgeous home faces Elk Avenue, and the back overlooks Coal Creek. The huge, grassy fenced-in yard is spectacular for soaking up some sun, there's a small patio off of the house for great people-watching, and there's a small patio right on the creek. Cozy up to the wood-burning stove on chilly summer nights, or relax outside under a canopy of stars. There is also an outdoor shed with bonus sleeping, or to store your mountain bikes and other fun summer toys!
There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The bedrooms are upstairs - one has a queen bed, and the other is a full (a very cozy fit). There is also a queen pull-out couch in the living room, and a bonus queen futon in the shed, for a maximum sleeping capacity of 8! The full bathroom downstairs has a clawfoot soaking tub.
The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you need to create a quick snack or gourmet meal. The gas stove is fantastic, and the dining table has both bench and chair seating. The living room boasts a 55-inch LCD TV, with cable TV and WiFi. Other amenities include a washer/dryer, a charcoal grill, and 2 off-street tandem parking spots for normal-sized vehicles.
While you stay here, you are literally steps away from the historic Kochevar's Saloon, Ryce Asian Bistro, and the bus stop!
*As a note to our guests, Farmer's Market is every Sunday during the summer and is set up directly in front of the house, so if you need to drive anywhere on Sundays please be sure to move your vehicle prior to setup of Farmer's Market.
*We recommend renting townie bicycles from “Around the Block LLC” for this property.

Interaction with Guests
We are available via phone and e-mail during normal working hours. There is also an emergency line. We love interacting with our guests; but let them decide the level of interaction.
Free shuttle from town to the mountain, usually runs every 15 minutes during peak season at dedicated stops. Rent a townie for the best local experience!

This house is only available during the summer season.
We have a contract we ask you to sign that will disclose our house rules and as well we appreciate the property being left in broom-clean condition. While our cleaners handle the major cleaning aspects, we appreciate the property being left in a reasonable condition so as to not add to cleaning costs.

So glad we found this house! Being in the heart of Crested Butte was great - one negative (if you are not there to party all night and are a light sleeper) was listening the bars close on Saturday night!
We enjoyed the two private decks and grassy lawn - delightful with Coal Creek running along the back of the property!
We did not use the Shed space but it is a pretty cool set-up. I think sleeping 8 in the house would be a stretch - you would need to have some folks sleep in the shed. With 4 of us we were very comfortable in the house.

About the Host, Heather
I moved from Washington State and came to just "visit" during a few ski trips. However, after a few visits, it is tough to deny the beautiful Colorado mountains, and the 60 second commute to work! We hope to share the things we love about Crested Butte with you!
