About this listing
Elements is a luxurious 4 building compound set on 4 landscaped acres set amongst redwood groves. It's ideal for up to 8 and offers seclusion and a unique atmosphere to get away from it all, while being close to all that wine country has to offer.
Elements is a unique, luxurious, and extremely private compound consisting of 4 buildings set on 4 landscaped acres, nestled in the redwoods of Sonoma County. You'll be located within minutes of the coast and the vineyards of Russian River, and amazed by the solitude that awaits you.
The spacious grounds have been landscaped with indigenous grasses and ferns, highlighting the phenomenal native redwood trees on the property. Pathways wind throughout, offering innumerable walks among ever-changing scenery, including a serene running pond, an antique stone masonry fountain, and an enchanting seasonal waterfall to delight and awaken the senses.
When you hike from the main compound, pathways become forest trails beckoning further into remote adjoining terrains still on the property. Austin Creek, with its numerous swimming holes and opportunities for creek wading, is delightful in summer and winter alike.
The entire retreat is professionally lit to a stunning degree, complimenting its allure day and night.
Entertaining is effortless and everyone can still have their own privacy, while gathering together in the large entertaining areas. All bedrooms, with a total of three king and one queen beds, are furnished with quality linens and down comforters.
The main house is a contemporary craftsman structure with a great room, master bedroom and two bathrooms. One is exceptionally large with multiple shower heads and a Zen-inspired private garden.
The fully appointed kitchen is centered around a granite island and can accommodate multiple chefs. Appliances include a professional six burner gas Wolf range/oven, microwave drawer, stainless refrigerator/freezer, garbage compactor, and complete dinner service.
The lodge is replete with fine attention to every detail, from the refectory style dining table, the deep leather sofa, to custom designed candle chandelier, which radiates throughout the main living area.
The West Terrace and Buddha Garden off the main house is an example of what makes this estate so unique. The outdoor kitchen and gardens were crafted from river stone years ago when the property was a summer campsite. The outdoor kitchen has been restored and now includes a state-of-the-art tankless gas BBQ, sink, lighting, and herb garden. The original river stone fire pit is now the focal point of a modern and sophisticated outside entertainment area, including outdoor speakers.
The dining table was custom made from the center cut of a local redwood tree and seats 14+ people. It’s the perfect setting for a large family gathering or a romantic retreat.
The guest house has its own terrace and seating area. Its windows have beautiful garden views too, but with different vistas, giving this two-bedroom space a unique atmosphere and privacy. It has both a king and queen size bedroom, each with their own private entrance, connected by a common hallway to the bathroom. The spacious multi shower head bathroom offers a mini spa experience off a secluded and private patio, complete with built-in speakers.
The “cabin” is everyone’s favorite. Its pine-paneled interior is a classic recreation of the traditional summer camp cottage. It has its own bathroom and outside shower. The cabin also adjoins a very large deck with its own views of the redwoods and gardens. It is a secluded gem.
The yoga studio is the final structure, with its own Japanese wood walkway and meditative views. Although it is used primarily for exercise and yoga, its another great spot to relax. The studio has adjustable weights and other exercise equipment as well as a Sonos sound system.
In the center of the compound is the spa area. Its focus is a redwood hot tub situated in the center of an ancient faerie ring of redwoods. It’s truly a magical location. A soak in the hot tub at night lets you link with nature and the starlit sky, a wonderful harmonious experience.
Located throughout the property you'll find all the latest that technology can offer including two HDTV’s, a full range of cable programming (HBO, Showtime, ESPN), Blu-Ray DVD, and high speed internet (150 Mbps). The property is served by an enterprise-grade wireless system, with range throughout the grounds. USB chargers and iPhone docking stations are available in all rooms. A Sonos sound system, complete with Pandora, Spotify, Amazon Music, and more, extends from the main house, to the BBQ area, to the Guest house, spa area, and yoga room. All of this technology is here to serve your real world reality while you enjoy the calm and escape that this retreat provides.
Guests have access to all four buildings and surrounding gardens. The property is fenced, making it ideal for dogs. Please contact us first for permission if you are planning to bring a dog.

We had an amazingly relaxing family weekend at the compound in Cazadero. The fresh herb garden was a beautiful touch and helped elevate our breakfasts and dinners. We'd be thrilled to return sometime in the future.
Heather and Bryan were great hosts and gave it their best to make sure we had a great stay at Elements. It's an amazing property - 4 little houses nestled high up in the redwoods outside of Cazadero. Perfect for a couples retreat or family getaway. There is a lot of outdoor space if you want to have a campfire or stargaze.
We just had a wonderful family vacation at Elements in Cazadero! There were 5 of us plus a small dog, and we had more than enough room. The grounds are just as beautiful as the pictures - stunning! We used the redwood soaking tub every day, and spent a lot of time on the main deck lounging on the comfortable patio furniture in the sun. Nearby Jenner (15-20 minutes away) has some great beaches (Blind Beach is dog friendly, and if you drive all the way down the hill it is very accessible for all ages and fitness levels), and a very cute coffee shop. We did a little shopping at Duncan Mills (10 minutes away), and enjoyed the gluten free brownies and pizza at Raymond's bakery (10 min away). The compound itself is very well-appointed and has some phenomenal design details. The outdoor space is incomparable - we stayed a week and still didn't find time to enjoy all of the little lounging areas situated beautifully amongst the trees. Michael was very helpful both prior to and during the trip. The "Welcome" pdfs are very well done and gave us a good sense of what to expect -- very detailed and well thought out. During our stay, we needed to contact him a few times with questions and he responded immediately. Great host, great experience!
I stayed at the home with a group of girlfriends for my birthday and it was the perfect setting for a relaxed but luxurious extended weekend. The compound is located in a beautiful location and feels very secluded. There is enough space for four couple to have their privacy but also ideal common areas. The kitchen and electronics are state of the art and the house is beautifully decorated. Tons of wineries within 30 minutes away and a nice local town with a grocery store and restaurants 15 minutes away. I wish I could spend every weekend here. Michael was a very attentive host and the house felt like our own for the weekend.
Michael was a great host. Very responsive and easy to get in touch with. The home was beautiful and exactly what we were looking for. The kitchen was soon well stocked! I would highly recommend this vacation get away and look forward to going back myself.
Michaels Elements compound was absolutely perfect for our "Old Friends" reunion. Plenty of room for four couples to share and yet be able to retreat to our own private area. We took full advantage of the spacious outdoor areas for grilling, relaxing and just catching up. Absolutely great for a large group like ours!
Michael was a phenomenal host and has an exquisite property! We visited for a week and this was the perfect location to enjoy all the local towns, wine tasting in the russian river valley, and easy access to national parks and the coast. We were a family of 6 and we felt very comfortable. I cannot speak highly enough of the property, which is even better than the pictures make it seem, and it was so hard for us to have to leave. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway or vacation in the area. Thank you again Michael!!
