About This Listing
Double room in lovely rustic farmhouse, on suite with a south facing terrace. The area is just south of Granada and is called the Switzerland of Spain, famed for its beauty, a favorite summer hide away for Lorca and many others.
Vibeke's place is a beautiful old house in the mountains. We had a lovely time staying in her quiet, spacious loft. The space felt very private and romantic for us. The ceiling with it's tree branch beams is amazing and the bed was lovely - we enjoyed getting under the mosquito net! The room opens out onto two terrassas and we slept with the doors open and heard animal noises and birdsong echoing between the mountains. In the morning I went out onto the vine-laden terrace and quietly looked at the whole scene - it is very beautiful. Vibeke is a great host, she is very warm and welcoming and she fed us amazingly even though we didn't expect anything - gluten-free pizza on arrival - amazing! We loved chatting with her and we hope we will see her again sometime soon. And we will remember her place with great fondness too!!
V is a true artist. She picked me up in Orgiva at the center and I instantly felt comfortable with her. She has a great spirit and is very involved in community building. She also modestly makes amazing crafts that can be found all throughout her home. The room she provided for me was upstairs in her own house and I had my own balcony which was fanatastic! Her son is friendly and he lives with her. She is generous with letting you use her kitchen and space freely. Her home is in a very very small village with not much, however, there is a bus stop across rom her home that allows easy access to the other mountain villages. The room was a bit dusty and the mattress was springy, but I don't mind much. There were also dogs barking at night that was unfortunate. This was a nice spot for me to spend a night in. And V is such a wonderful person and very much inspired me even with the short time I was at her home.
We stayed ten days at her lovely place. She is a very friendly and open person. The house is lovely and she knows a lot about the community life in orgiva. We went for various hiking tours in the sierra nevada Orgiva is a perfect place to start from for hiking an cycling.
Vibeke is a welcome, warm host. She spent time chatting with us about her life here, and was very informative about things to do and what's going on in the community. Her house, which is a short walk from Órgiva, is lovely, and full of character. Our room was private, with its own bathroom and terrace.
Vibeke was the sweetest lady. the house is rustic but very clean and very confortable. Not only she was very welcoming but she baked fresh bread in the morning for our breakfast. Can you believe it? If I close my eyes I can still recall the beautifull parfume of that freshly baked bread. I would reccomend it a thousand time
