Uniquely located on top of a mile long sandy beach and within walking distance of three other beaches. Spectacular views out over the sea and of the mountains. Lots to see and do and only ten minutes drive from Dingle. A warm welcome awaits you.
Our home is uniquely situated on top of a beautiful mile long sandy beach. We are also within walking distance of three other beaches. We are located along the Dingle Way and only a fifteen minute walk from the local village which has a number of pubs, places to eat and grocery store. If you decide you'd like to have a drink be sure to ask for our local brew. There are numerous walks and places of interest to visit such as archaeological sites, working farms, potters, artist studios and galleries. The Great Blasket Islands are a must visit if you have the opportunity. For those who are interested we can organise day long guided walking/driving excursions, taking in the local area or to the Blasket Islands. This is a Gaelic speaking area and it is also the language spoken in the house-a great opportunity to pick up a few phrases. Irish music is also played in the house and you may be lucky enough to be present for an impromptu session!!!
Food is a passion too and dinner can be arranged. Seafood is a speciality!! E15 for two courses and E20 for three. Our breakfasts consist of lovely homemade brown bread, fruit and locally produced organic eggs, hen and duck. For those who would prefer a full Irish breakfast we can also accomodate.
Guests are encouraged to make themselves at home. They will have access to a shared bathroom, living room, kitchen and dining area. If guests would like to prepare food they are welcome to use the kitchen. Have a wander around the garden and see what's growing in the vegetable garden and polytunnel.
Interaction with Guests
We very much want our guests to be comfortable and enjoy their stay with us, therefore the amount of interaction will be totally up to them. In saying that, we love meeting new people and love to share our time, our knowledge and passion of this wonderful area with those who are interested. To make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible, we can arrange pick-ups and drop-offs. If guests would like an evening in Dingle we can drop them in and arrange a taxi home.
This is a fantastic location with so much to do. If you have an interest in walking, hillwalking, climbing, swimming, horse riding or photography, you will not be disappointed. Dingle and West Kerry is well known for quality food, fresh seafood, traditional Irish music, song and literature. Dingle has recently been nominated "Foodie town of Ireland 2014".There is a wealth of crafts people on the peninsula from jewellery makers to potters and painters. There truly is something for everyone.
Public transport to Ballyferriter is not convenient. However for those arriving into Dingle we are happy to collect. There is a regular bus service from all parts of the country into Dingle. We are 2 hrs 40 mins from Shannon airport, 2 hrs 30 mins from Cork airport and 1 hr 15 mins from Kerry airport.
Other Things to Note
Guided walks of the area and the Blasket Islands can be arranged as can bike hire. Breakfast is continental style but Irish breakfasts can be requested. We welcome all enquiries and if we can accommodate or help to make your stay more pleasurable be sure to let us know.
We are very happy to welcome guests into our home and all we ask is that they make themselves comfortable but also to bear in mind that it is our family home. Smokers are welcome but will have to smoke outside. Pets can also be accommodated but not inside the house
What can we say?? Clodaugh, Eoghan, and their girls were extremely gracious, friendly, and welcoming hosts. My wife Aimee and I felt immediately at ease and it was more like visiting friends than staying at a B&B. Their house is beautiful and the view of the coast is gorgeous.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had many laughs along with very interesting chats until the wee hours of the morning with Clodaugh & Eoghan learning all about Ireland and exchanging stories. Aimee was also feeling a cold coming on and Clodaugh immediately had a remedy on hand to help her feel better (Clodaugh and I even had some too...as a precaution of course). Aimee was very appreciative and felt much better in the morning. To top it all off, the silky scrambled eggs that Eoghan made for us for breakfast the next day were to die for. ;)
It was truly a unique experience for us and was hands down the best place we stayed at for our entire trip. We really wish we had stayed longer!! If you're planning to visit anywhere near Dingle then I can not recommend this place enough. :)
Brad & Aimee
Brad and Aimee, Thank you so much for your amazing review. We really did enjoy your company and had a great laugh. The cold remedy for all was very important and kept us all in fine spirits!!! We would love to meet you both again so please do look us up if you are ever in the country again. Who knows, you may come back for another anniversary! Best of look to you both for the future.

Staying with the Slattery's was a true pleasure! Their home was beautiful and we felt very welcomed. Eoghan provided us with plenty of suggestions for places to go and explore in the nearby area. He provided us with an amazing breakfast before we departed and truly made us feel at home. It exceeded our expectations and was one of the highlights of our entire trip! I would recommend staying here anytime and we definitely hope to be back.
Outside of the hospitality, the home is located in a very peaceful area just outside of the Dingle. The drive was outstanding and a great retreat for a night or a few days!
Clodagh was a great host and had a wonderful home! Her husband made us a killer breakfast and gave us loads of useful traveling tips! Highly recommend!
Though we didn't meet Clodagh, she was excellent at communicating with us over email and the rest of her family was very welcoming! Wonderful place to stay, and walking along the beach with the dog trailing behind was incredibly fun. Thank-you!
We never got a chance to meet Clodagh but her husband did a great job and made our stay very, very special. Wonderful home, beautiful family, lovely, lovely people! Eoghan was very helpful with all the tips where to go and what to see. On the top of that he was very good at cooking - we had lovely breakfast every single time. At the evenings we just sat at the table and listened to the beautiful stories - Eoghan is the perfect example of the well known truth that Irish people are great storytellers. There was a bit of a special feeling to it all - magical place, friendly and welcoming family, the entire experience was exceptional in every sense.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Clodagh & Eoghan were amazing hosts! We kept them up way too late chatting and asking them all sorts of questions, but they didn't complain. Their recommendations were perfect! They accommodated our schedule so that we could go out at sunrise and come back afterwards to eat. Clodagh made fresh brown bread so the house smelled amazing! And if that weren't enough, they served us Irish breakfast tea, yogurt & muesli, and the most delicious scrambled eggs with fresh parsley! The location of their home cannot be beat. We could have stayed for weeks and not tired of the views. Their girls are adorable and their home is beautiful! Eoghan even drove ahead of us to the ferry the next morning so we wouldn't get lost. We hope to come back soon as we have found new friends in the Slattery's. Thank you sincerely, R&J
Hi guys. Thank you for your amazing review. You were both an absolute pleasure to have and you are welcome back any time. Ryan would you believe that I have a photo story assignment to do for college-I had to laugh-will you come back and help me??? I hope you are having a fabulous time on your travels-enjoy every second of it. I really hope we'll meet you both again and please be sure to stay in touch.
Best wishes, Clodagh, Eoghan and girls. xx
We are very lucky to live in one of the most beautiful places in Ireland. As a result we have always had people coming and going and we have always enjoyed their company. Both myself and my husband have worked as walking guides and have a great wealth of knowledge, not to mention passion for not just this area but the western seaboard in general. My husband, Eoghan, currently organises and runs guided walking excursions on the peninsula. We are fluent Irish (Gaelic) speakers and it is the language our children speak too.
Traditional Irish music is another big passion and between all of us there is usually someone singing, playing the fiddle, the tin whistle, attempting to play the piano and the guitar at any given time during the day.
As if that wasn't enough to keep us busy I love to garden. We have a lovely vegetable garden which is handy as Eoghan loves to cook and is always looking for any excuse or opportunity to show off his culinary skills!!
As a family we spend a lot of our time outside, on the hills, cycling and in the water. All of this is accessible to us by merely stepping outside the door and we take advantage of it as much as possible.
We love to meet new people and especially love having people to come stay. We really want people to enjoy their time here and to gain as much as possible from their visit.
