David met U.S. and was very helpful and helped us become familiar with the apartment and the area. He had some great restaurant recommendations. The area is well located and you can walk to all the popular spots. The apartment is comfortable and clean. We had a great stay. Thanks David
David is an enthusiastic ambassador for Florence he gave us lots of information about the city, restaurants and shopping and gave us a bottle of local wine. The apartment had much character in a very historic building, it was spacious and had everything required including a fully equipped kitchen. We were two couples and knew that the fold out couch bed would be needed, it is large and comfortable. There is a small dressing room for the convenience of those using the Sofa bed. The location near the Pitti Palace and Ponte Vecchio was perfect and everything was in walking distance.
David's apartment is in an excellent location. It is in an excellent location, walking distance from all the main sights. I also liked that it was in an area a little apart from the main tourist sections, as I found the restaurants in the area of the apartment to be more reasonable and crowds smaller. The apartment is beautiful inside.
David was an excellent host, meeting us at the apartment and giving us tips to see Florence.
My only issue was that it was a little loud at night in the main bedroom due to street noise.
David was a great host. He waited for us at the apartment even though we're half an hour late (our train was late). He showed us the apartment and the neighborhood, as well as recommended some excellent restaurants. We love his apartment. It's very charming and comfortable. The location was great. We could walk to all major attractions. We'd definitely stay here again.
David gave us plenty of information about where to go and what to do - all helpful.
The apartment was as described - the bedroom and the strange little box room are up steep stairs, with the bathroom downstairs, so this place is only for the continent and sound of limb. We were quite comfortable and loved being in this Oltrarno region - our coffees in Piazza Santo Spirito were a highlight, and a delightful respite from the hoardes in the centre. However, do not think you will have an uninterrupted night's sleep - it's all go round here, but perhaps that's what you expect in the city - everything from people recycling bottles at 2 am, cheerfully blowing car horns (3am), pumping out drains opposite (up till midnight), emergency vehicle sirens, and so on. I also found the bedrooms rather stuffy, even though I left the windows open in the day for air ( you can't do this at night because of the noise). We were, overall, happy to be here and appreciated the chance to stay in this historic building - in the Barrett Browning's attic, as it were.
