Interaction with Guests
My wife and I are both in our late 20's & early 30's and two years ago we traveled through central and south America. We enjoy meeting people from other places and we plan to interact with our guests as much as they would like.
Our house is 4 blocks away from Tampa Bay and Lassing Park which has a nice little beach. Plus when the tide goes out you can walk a fair distance into the water.
Our neighborhood is very artsy and eccentric. A lot of our neighbors have chickens and gardens and each house is very unique.
Close to Dali Museum, University of South Florida- St. Petersburg, Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, Downtown St. Petersburg
There is a bus stop on 4th street & 19th ave and this is about 1 block from my house. This route can take you all over the county or connect you with other routes and it this is route 4.
Greyhound bus station downtown St. Petersburg, 5 min. from the house
Clearwater & Tampa International Airport about 20min. from my house

This place is an amazing hostel for the price. I got my own room and key. The beach is a beautiful eight minute walk away, downtown is a five minute uber or a half hour walk. Chris is a really nice guy, he's traveled the world and is super interesting. I would be gone most of the day and come home at night. It would be nice to chat with him about my day for a bit. I had the best vacation ever here, all by myself at 21. I felt safe and happy and welcomed. I would absolutely stay again.
What an AWESOME experience!! I was traveling alone to a new place and I felt safe in the neighborhood. A very "home" feeling! Sharing a bath and kitchen was never a problem at all! I can't wait to visit again and be able to spend more time with Chris, Joni and all their visitors!!! I recommend this place multiplied by 100!!!!!!!
We had a great visit to St Petersburg! Chris and all of his guests were very helpful and accommodating! We enjoyed meeting everyone and hope to stay in touch!
I was scheduled to arrive around 7:00 pm and did not arrive until 8:30 pm. Chris was out but Joni met me and showed me around the place. The place was very nice as was Joni. I never actually met Chris since I was in town on business and typically arrived late and left early.
My biggest complaint is on the bed. It was awful. It was some sort of springy mattress covered by a thick mattress cover or top pad on a squeaky Ikea type frame. The only time I got a semi good night sleep was when I moved the "mattress" to the floor.
I would not hesitate to stay here again, IF they replaced what they called a real bed with A REAL BED.
Lawrence was traveling for business and we were very flexible in accommodating his late check-in/ changes, not a problem. I understand he was on a business trip and needed to leave early and arrive late, no worries. Joni and I are around almost all the time and Joni had tried to reach out to Lawrence a few times to see how things were going, he was in a rush.... Also, I am almost always one phone call or an email away, in the business world it is a necessity. I appreciate his feedback in helping to make our place better as we are constantly improving. Solar panels are in the works!!!!!
Chris was a very accommodating host! He made me feel so welcomed it felt like I was right at home. He is also a great listener that all of his guests could tell him anything and everything under the sun. The camaraderie among the international guests inside his house is also an incomparably pleasant surprise. It seemed like everyone was just simply attuned with each other without even trying.
Wonderful, relaxing, safe and friendly stay -- at Casa Blanca. This is my second time to book a bed here and it is still awesome --location, hosts, guests, and Florida sunshine-- ahhhhh!
