Scenic, private living space close to many interesting things to do, amenities and sights.
This is a private studio with 500 sq. ft. and it's own entrance and patio in the back of our home next to "green space". It sits in a lovely neighborhood 2 miles from downtown SLO and Cal Poly University. There is off-street parking provided for one vehicle. The studio includes a queen bed, bathroom with shower, dining table with two chairs and kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a small fridge, microwave, full size sink and dishes/utensils and other culinary tools. Coffee and tea with fixings are provided for our guests. A press pot with hot water kettle or drip coffee machine are provided to make coffee/tea. There is a large closet in the main living area. There is a folding luggage rack and iron/board for your use stored in the bathroom closet. Our guests get a freshly made bed with cotton linens and towel sets for the bathroom.
There is a DVD player with some complimentary movies and large flat screen monitor however NO CABLE so no TV. Wireless internet is also provided. You can also connect your laptop to the flat screen and play movies for a nice movie experience if you subscribe to a movie service such as Netflix.
The patio has a teak table with four chairs that's great for dining. For Al Fresco dining, we can make a BBQ grill with stove-top available upon request. You can open the french doors for a nice experience. An umbrella is available depending on the season, as well as a hammock with pillows.
This place is best suited for a single person or couple with possibly one child. Parties are not allowed.
It is a very quiet place in a nice neighborhood with a lovely view of Bishops Peak from the studio and access to the trails through the neighborhood. Trail views are epic and it is a nice hike to gorgeous scenery and photo ops. In the springtime the wildflowers along the trails are stunning and will be sure to put a big smile on your face. We happily provide hiking information since we frequently walk the trails. Be sure to bring good walking shoes, sun block and a hat if you want to try some of the trails. I also recommend you bring layered clothing and especially jacket/windbreaker for nighttime and mornings, SLO gets very cold at night even in the summer months. If you paint, bring a camera to capture inspirational photos because the setting is magical. There are also plenty of bike trails.
The beach is 10 minutes away and the sunsets on the coast are truly fantastic.
Downtown SLO is 2 miles away and it is an exceedingly vibrant downtown with great restaurants, movie and coffee houses, and is simply nice to walk around. Farmer's Market is every Thursday from 6pm-9pm, live entertainment, great food and interesting people.
The studio is 13 miles from Pismo Beach, 16 miles from Arroyo Grande, 13 miles from Morro Bay, 33 miles from Cambria, 29 miles from Paso Robles, and 94 miles from Santa Barbara - and is exactly between San Francisco and L.A.
If you just want to get away and spend a quiet time in a beautiful place this is the spot for you.
Our guests enjoy their own parking space close to the studio, their own private patio with table and hammock and a private entrance to their own studio.

Launderosa Laundromat is about a mile from the studio if you want to do laundry. I highly recommend it, it is very clean and conveniently located near Cal Poly.
Melanie was very communicative throughout and the studio was exactly as described. We found the location to be very convenient for our SLO county explorations. Very clean, attractive, comfortable, and quiet (except for the neighbor's pool pump). Not to miss: grab an extra blanket from the closet and climb into the hammock in the morning to listen to the birds - room enough for two! :) One of the best Airbnb's we've visited; we'll definitely stay here again on our next trip to SLO.
This little studio/casita is in back of the home and super cute not to mention quiet. Melanie provided a little welcome basket with some snacks and it was a perfect safe haven close enough to everywhere we needed to be... Downtown Slo, Pismo, 3/S Ranch. We had our own parking spot and though we didn't need anything Melanie made herself available if need be. We loved this studio and hope to return soon!
Melanie was very friendly and helpful. She came out and said hello immediately after we arrived. She was there for any questions, but also gave us our space to enjoy our privacy. The room is off the garage in back of the house. It is separate quarters and she has thought of everything. There are all the bath supplies, a basket of snacks. The apartment is set up very well. She has a list of things to do and restaurants in the room. We used some of her recommendations and had wonderful experiences! I would highly recommend her place to stay.
One note, they have wifi, but not cable which they list clearly. You can hook a iPad to the tv and stream. If that is important to you, just be aware.
Everything we read in the reviews are true! The studio entrance is on a private patio overlooking a beautiful wildlife area near Bishop’s Peak. The studio had everything we needed and more. The kitchen was stocked with everything from coffee, cooking utensils to snacks and water. The bathroom had big, plush towels and even a spare toothbrush! What I really appreciated was the attention that Melanie paid to the linens. The bed had crisp white sheets, with a super comfy comforter and fluffy pillows. The studio was immaculately clean, such great attention to detail. Far and above the best Airbnb we have stayed at yet.
We couldn't have been happier; this was a charming place, immaculately kept. The host, while I didn't meet her, attended to every detail as far as providing all of the amenities of home and the patio and views really tie it all together.
This place is a steal and such a catch! My husband and I stayed at this lovely studio for Valentine's Day weekend. Melanie sent an informative message beforehand, letting us know all the details, which made me feel prepared and at home. When we arrived, we had such an amazing surprise! They had a sweet card for us, delicious wine, chocolate, popcorn, cookies, and other little snacks set out for us...and a heart and swans made out of towels on the bed! Fresh cut calla lilies were on the counter. Everything was sparkling clean (I kept thinking we HAD to be their first guests!) and the place was spectacularly organized and labeled. Melanie had a list of where everything was inside. Everything was so welcoming and lovely, we were planning our return within three minutes of stepping in the door. :)
The location could truly not be better. We kept pinching ourselves! Out the backdoor is the mountain...the trailhead is a short walk away. San Luis Obispo town is minutes away. The beach is also a short drive over the hills. Melanie also has a printout of her favorite places in the area...we visited quite a few and also recommend them! :)
Melanie greeted us as we drove up her drive. Inside we found towels on the bed artistically folded to resemble an elephant. She also left us snacks and drinks as well as suggestions for visiting the area. She made us feel special.
Hello! I do jewelry design and teach my techniques nationally and internationally and receive great fulfillment from my work. I have lived in SLO for 21 years and absolutely enjoy it. I am a lover of Jesus, and appreciate studying the NIV translation of the Bible. I am married to a very loving, charming and handsome husband named Scott.
As a host I treat my guests as I would like to treated. Hospitality is a fine art of graciousness and I take joy in giving and receiving it. The other golden rule I strive to follow is "in humility consider others better than ourselves." Philippians 2:3
As a guest, I believe I am considerate. I have respect for other's property and belongings as if they were my own. I do like my privacy especially when I am traveling on business and like having quiet evenings to decompress, read and relax.
