It is a very quiet place in a nice neighborhood with a lovely view of Bishops Peak from the studio and access to the trails through the neighborhood. Trail views are epic and it is a nice hike to gorgeous scenery and photo ops. In the springtime the wildflowers along the trails are stunning and will be sure to put a big smile on your face. We happily provide hiking information since we frequently walk the trails. Be sure to bring good walking shoes, sun block and a hat if you want to try some of the trails. I also recommend you bring layered clothing and especially jacket/windbreaker for nighttime and mornings, SLO gets very cold at night even in the summer months. If you paint, bring a camera to capture inspirational photos because the setting is magical. There are also plenty of bike trails.
The beach is 10 minutes away and the sunsets on the coast are truly fantastic.
Downtown SLO is 2 miles away and it is an exceedingly vibrant downtown with great restaurants, movie and coffee houses, and is simply nice to walk around. Farmer's Market is every Thursday from 6pm-9pm, live entertainment, great food and interesting people.
The studio is 13 miles from Pismo Beach, 16 miles from Arroyo Grande, 13 miles from Morro Bay, 33 miles from Cambria, 29 miles from Paso Robles, and 94 miles from Santa Barbara - and is exactly between San Francisco and L.A.

We had a great experience staying here and would definitely do it again! The studio is exactly how Melanie described it, it has everything we needed. We were welcomed with a personalized note with helpful info.
The ambiance of the studio was perfect and we made use of the patio area as well. It's also in a great location, close to downtown and the campus with a quiet and relaxing feel.
Wow, can't say enough good things about our stay with Melanie. The listing was exactly as she described. She was there to greet us when we arrived and made sure everything was in order. She made sure we knew she was available but didn't intrude at all. The studio was immaculate and perfect, she thought of everything from the most comfortable bed in the world (she irons the sheets) and spotless bathroom to the amazing patio (with hammock). I want to keep this place all to myself but I also want to scream from the rooftops what a great experience we had. I HIGHLY recommend this property and Melanie.
What a wonderful experience! The studio was beautiful, comfortable, ideally located in a quiet picturesque setting. Whether relaxing indoors where every possible need has been anticipated or enjoying your morning coffee or napping in the hammock on the serene private patio, you hope your vacation never ends.
Melanie and Scott are warm and welcoming hosts who have the gift of hospitality. We hope to make this gem a regular destination.
Great Host all the way through from the time of booking through the visit. The place is exactly as described with a few nice surprises along the way. I would definitely stay again.
The studio has been completed to a very high standard of fixtures and furnishings. The location is very peaceful and quiet with outstanding views.
We never had a chance to meet Melanie, but she provided a lot of useful information about the studio and the surrounding areas. We would love to stay here again and would recommend it to everyone.
Our experience at this location was wonderful. The guest house is everything that it was purported to be, and more. It was private, immaculate, and provided every hoped for convenience and accommodation. The location was convenient and accessible to the community. The host's attention to our needs and every detail was obvious and was certainly appreciated. We would not hesitate to return again to this very comfortable, delightful location.
We had a great time at this airbnb! Loved the small thoughtful touches and outdoor space. Both nights we brewed coffee and sat outside under the string lights just enjoying the beautiful weather. The information given to us upon arrival was also really helpful, and Melanie and Bill were so friendly and welcoming throughout our stay!
About the Host, Melanie
Hello! I do jewelry design and teach my techniques nationally and internationally and receive great fulfillment from my work. I have lived in SLO for 22 years and absolutely enjoy it. I am a lover of Jesus, and appreciate studying the NIV translation of the Bible. I am married to a very loving, charming and handsome husband named Scott.
As a host I treat my guests as I would like to treated. Hospitality is a fine art of graciousness and I take joy in giving and receiving it. The other golden rule I strive to follow is "in humility consider others better than ourselves." Philippians 2:3
As a guest, I believe I am considerate. I have respect for other's property and belongings as if they were my own. I do like my privacy especially when I am traveling on business and like having quiet evenings to decompress, read and relax.
