In being full of plants and paintings the apartment has a real home feel, plus it has the added cachet of having its own large private terrace. There's an extra sense of privacy because the apartment is on the top floor of an eight story building, (and yes there is an elevator). There is a bright kitchen and beautiful bathroom with the original antique tiles and fixtures. The apartment's large main room is very comfortable and has a zen feel in being so open and roomy. Lots of natural light, thanks to the many windows, creates a sense of expansiveness by day. By night, lots of small lights spread about the apartment makes the feeling intimate. There are great views, and especially so from the terrace. Its a quiet, secure building (only three apartments on each floor) in a quiet, upscale neighborhood.

Staying in of an evening?; well the bookcase is full of interesting books and DVDs. A real home from home. If you jog or like walks in nature, all you have to do is go up the staircase at the end of the block and then you are on Pine avenue and a hop away from paths that crisscross the mountain that reigns over Montreal.
The Golden Mile is so peaceful and serene in being perched on the south slope of the mountain, with the advantage of being right next to the bustle and action that downtown Montreal has to offer. A five minute walk to Sherbrooke Street, restaurants, cafes, chic boutiques and the magnificent Museum of Fine Art (It hosts a wonderful large and free-to-view permanent collection - too much to see in one visit! - and there is also always a touring exhibit). It's a ten minute walk to Peel Metro. Also very close to the McGill and Concordia university campuses.
Grocery deliveries are available from PA Supermarket (they take telephone orders and are the best in Montreal), located on du Fort near Ste Catherine. Mourelatos is also a good supermarket, located a little closer on Ste Catherine just east of Guy
. If you have a car there is no reserved parking, but if you are coming and going outside of business hours, you'll always get a spot on the block near to the building. Like most big cities, downtown Montreal is best enjoyed without a car. The metro system is excellent and for the sporty there is Montreal's cool curbside self serve 'Bixi' bicycle rental system. And yes Montreal in summer is like a resplendent butterfly, quite the spectacle to behold....come and savor from the Penthouse!
No smoking indoors; out on the terrace is okay.
