The space

Right in the heart of "South Slope" is this apartment for rent, which is close to trains, restaurants and the magnificent Prospect Park, every convenience is at your fingertips. We keep a clean and streamlined home, but cozy enough to relax in. There is one full bathroom, a convertible sofa-bed and a full sized bed upstairs in the master bedroom. The apartment is fully stocked, just bring your toothbrush!

The best part is the nice sized deck off the kitchen, which is great in the Spring and Summer. It's comfortable and sunny, but also has one high wall which blocks direct sunlight, so it isn't overwhelmingly hot. But if it is, just swoop into the kitchen for lemonade!

Right on our corner of 12th Street is a great diner at 7th avenue as well as your pick of fabulous restaurants and on the other corner at 6th avenue you have your choice of two different great coffee houses, another two restaurants and a nice avenue to walk down which is more residential that 7th or 5th aves. 7th Avenue has quite an array of shops os well. Most of the time, we have a hard time trying to decide where to eat and shop! There is a movie theatre a few blocks away and Prospect Park is three blocks away.

The house is accessible to the F/R/G trains. And we are about a 35 minute drive to JFK and Laguardia Airports. The ride into Manhattan is about 20 minutes on the F train.

The adjacent neighborhoods are Prospect Heights, Carroll Gardens, Windsor Terrace. And a bit further is Brooklyn Heights, Dumbo, Boerum Hill and Fort Greene. Close by is the Barclays Center. If you are not driving, we suggest using UBER or the local car service, Continental is also reliable.

There is internet and cable TV.

We reside downstairs when we have guests upstairs. (This is a two family house)

Thanks and look forward to seeing you!

Guest access

The whole apartment is yours with it's own private entrance. Come on in and make yourself at home! Consider all toiletries and anything else in the cabinets free to use.

Interaction with guests

We are here to help, but will usually stay out of your way and leave you to your privacy. This is a two family house and we live downstairs. But as it goes with busy NYC lives, we sometimes never bump into our guests at all!

Other things to note

There is no "bell" at your entrance. If you are expecting a delivery or guests, they should expect to knock on the door.

I stayed here while attending a conference in Manhattan. It was a bit of a hike but so worth it. Park Slope is such a relaxed, family friendly spot. I much preferred it to staying in midtown and it gave me a base from which to explore the rest of Brooklyn. Checkin and checkout was a breeze. Good wifi. Welcoming snacks, including half and half milk for my coffee (they asked what I preferred). The area is surrounded by good cafes and restaurants and just a few blocks from the park. So glad I found this spot.

Lillian and Rob were perfect hosts at so many levels. The amenities/provisions exceeded all of our previous Airbnb rentals. Their level of engagement with us was a commendable balance of accessibility and reserve. Our congenial intersections with them authenticated the emerging reputation of the people of Brooklyn as being friendly and supportive. Their responses to the two queries we made during our three weeks in their apartment were timely, and resolution was immediate. Audrey and I strongly encourage those who seek a pleasant break from life's routine demands to avail themselves of this Park Slope apartment. Over all: A wonderful NY experience.

Place was awesome. In a cute neighborhood of Park slope, close to prospect Park, restaurants, bars, and the subway. The place was clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. Would stay here in a heartbeat again!

lillian and rob's place is lovely, as are the hosts. it's airy, bright, roomy and impeccably kept. its proximity to prospect park and lively 7th avenue is ideal. if i lived in brooklyn (am considering this) i would choose a location and a living space that featured all of these qualities.

Hi there. We used airbnb during our honeymoon trip in Northern California and we loved our experience. Our listing is new, but I am an experienced landlord and thankfully, have had great experiences sharing spaces (both offices and apartments) in NYC over the last several years. I was born and raised here in Brooklyn and love the neighborhood. We keep a tidy but "lived in" house. We hope you'll reach out and inquire about the space. I'll be happy to answer any questions that you have. And I really look forward to having our first airbnb guests come and enjoy our home and the neighborhood!

(Oh, and that's my husband and two kids in the picture....Rob, Leo and Lucy.)
