Private suite with queen bed, sitting area, fireplace and private bath. French doors open onto the garden patio, which has a dining table and chairs, and a water feature. A stream also runs behind the property.
The bathroom features a shower.
You are welcome to use the fabulous main floor kitchen to cook, as long as you clean up after yourself :)
There is a sweet 20-pound dachshund named Riley and a 40-pound beagle/hound mix named Annie who love to be loved, and may come down to visit occasionally, if you don't mind.
The house is about 4 miles from Silver Spring metro, even closer to Forest Glen. A bus runs from my neighborhood straight to the metro. Parking is free and plentiful right in front.
Easy access to the heart of DC (20-25 min) by car, or you can take a quick bus to the Silver Spring metro station.
Owner cares that guests like their stay so much, they wish to return. She's an encyclopedia of DC knowledge (but will not barrage you with information unless you want it).
I live in DC but have very limited (read: none) space for guests. My grandfather came to town and needed a place near Beltsville to stay. Sherri and Dave were such wonderful hosts I had a hard time getting my grandad back! They were super helpful and accommodating, helping him set up an in-promptu home office, calling a cab and making sure the room temperature was perfect for him. My grandad isn't too fond of dogs but by the end of his stay half his stories were about how smart and tame the little dachs is. I will definitely recommend Sherri's secret BnB. ;)
This is a great place to stay! We stayed in the downstairs room with its own private bathroom. In fact, they just finished remodeling the bath. It was comfortable and enjoyable. The bed was amazing! It even got rid of my morning back pain and my husband slept a few hours more that he usually does because it was so comfortable!! We also had use of the kitchen and upstairs. It was an easy commute by car to anywhere we wanted to go, she is located right off of one of the main roads.
The best part of the whole experience is Sherri (and Annabelle and Riley, of course!). She is a great person who is full of knowledge about the area, where to go, places to eat, etc. She is fun and great to talk to about all kinds of things. She even took us into DC on the first night since she had work out that way. We truly enjoyed our time with her as well as visiting the area. She is like an old friend who we have known forever!
By the way, Sherri is a realtor and really knows the area very well. For those looking for real estate help, she knows her stuff and she LISTENS!!!!
We would definitely stay here again and again! Location is great, and it was an all around fantastic experience!
We had a wonderful time at Sherry's place. She made us feel very welcomed. We had some extra needs, and she was very flexible and understanding. Overall her place is adorable, and she is most gracious.
Sherri was the perfect host for us. She has a beautiful house in a quiet location, friendly dogs (loved walking and playing with them). Not to mention all the help and advises she gave us moving to the DC. Made the transition a lot easier for us. Thank Sherri!
Great place and a wonderful host. Sherri is full of good information and valuable insight to the area.
Nice place, lovely hostess, but hopeless for one who has no car. My mistake, Long walk to bus, and 30 min. ride to METRO station in Silver Spring. If you have a car, you will enjoy the lovely home and hospitality, but not necessarly some of the snotty guests.
Sherri and her mother welcomed me graciously. I stayed in the lower level of their home, which provided a luxious amount of space. Lots of overstuffed furniture and an excellent bed made it a very comfortable place to relax. Although very private, there is only a curtain separating the space from the stairs that lead to the rest of the house and the sound carries. Everything was very clean, but the bathroom was in need of a few minor repars. Riley the resident dachshund is adorable!
Sherri is the most wondefull host you can wish for. She's really outgoing and very nice to chat with. She has great information about the city and how to get around. If she can she will drop you off at the metro, otherwise you have to a short walk to the bus, which takes you in 15 minutes to the metro. Sherri makes custom breakfast, if possible. We rented the appartment downstairs, which was more then fully equiped, the bathroom is private and really nice. You're free to use the living room and kitchen. All together on of our best stays on our five week trip to the US. And Sherri is one of the persons which makes our trips such a beautiful experience.
Her house feels like a home away from home!!!
Wonderful host, wonderful place, wonderful breakfast (yammy!), wonderful little dog. thanx very much. If we ever come back to DC we gonna stay there again
My husband and I stayed 6 nights and had a ball. Sherri not only took us to "Great Falls" she offered to take us to Chincoteage Island, Va. on one of her day trips. She drove us to the Metro and went way out of her way to make our trip special. She helped me find lodging for after we left her place and made many wonderful recomendations. Her place is great and very comfortable. She will be a friend for life. Sherri is so interesting and a fine Christian lady.
