  • Andy's place was cozy & well situated around a huge variety of bars and restaurants in the LES. He was very accommodating with everything from picking up the keys to getting back to me right away with any questions I had.

  • We had an entirely smooth experience while staying at Andy's place.

We met with Andy at his place. There he gave us a quick induction to his apartment and surrounding areas, then left us to our own devices. Andy was very accommodating and we maintained contact throughout our stay. He gave great advice as to where to eat on Thanksgiving Day. We didn't eat a better meal in NYC.

The apartment is kept very clean. It is cosy and it kept us warm in the subzero temperatures of a NY winter. The small space has been utilised well and decorated even better. Andy has a library worth boasting about and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay - most importantly there is a kettle to make tea with!

If I recall correctly Andy told us that the apartment building was built circa the early 1900's. The building is authentic to that, it has been renovated really well and still retains the charming exposed brick work walls, no elevators and an uncontrollable steam pipe that runs vertically up which serves as central heating to the apartment. You can hear other tenants using the stairs and the noises from the street - You get an authentic stay in East Village, NYC.

It was a cool place to stay.

  • Andy was a great host - he accommodating and allowed us to check in earlier than normal, which we really appreciated (our flight got in early). We were able to meet him and he gave us recommendations on a dry cleaners and cab service. His place was clean and tidy, with fresh sheets, towels, and toiletries. It's in a great location, we would definitely stay there again.

Note: His bedroom wall is close to the outside hallway, so you can hear people walking up and down the stairs. So if you're a light sleeper like myself, mornings can be a little rough. My friend didn't notice at all,

  • We loved Andy's apartment! It was clean, uncluttered and in a great part of town. The exposed bricks were cool and made us feel like we were really in NYC. Though small he made good use of the space and left some cupboard and drawer space for us, which was much appreciated.

The shower was amazing (especially after long days of walking) and you're not too far from a subway stop, which is handy.

We'd definitely stay at Andy's again if/when we come back to New York!

  • This is a great little apartment in a fantastic part of New York. It's ideal for couples (or friends happy to share a bed!) to use as a base for exploring the city.(It's not big enough for any more than 2 people) Very clean and cosy and Andy was very accommodating and organised. We came to feel like we were real 'East Villagers' during our week staying there...it was a bit of a shock to wake up back in reality today!! Highly recommended.

  • Appartement très propre et parfait pour 2 personnes. Proche du metro et dans un quartier très sympa.
Hote disponible et très arrangeant, répond très rapidement à nos demandes.
    Thanks Andy!!

  • Just as Andy describes it: cool neighborhood, easy access to the 1st Ave L-line, character building and the park with a Farmers Market on the weekend 100 yards away. Not troubled by street noise: if there was any I couldn't here it from the interior location of the bedroom. I agree with Andy on it being most suitable for 1 or 2 people, but those people will enjoy themselves immensely! Andy knows the area and wider Manhattan if you don't.

  • Andy was amazing! My parents were in town for a few days and I got them set up Andy's. They said andy was super nice and very helpful (has a cute dog too!). I went and checked out the apartment and it was as pictured. Well decorated, welcoming, and very convenient. And no need to bring your own book, Andy has a fantastic library.

    Thanks andy!!

  • My stay in Andy's apartment was really perfect! Ideal location at the East Village with 3 subway stations at a walking distance and all the places to be closeby (e.g. Tell Me More Bar, Westville Restaurant, pink boutique store and a lot more). This 1-bedroom apartment is fully renovated and well kept by Andy, with a wonderful NewYorker's taste, combining modern and retro items. Even if there is no lift, the way up to the 2nd floor is easy. The pictures downloaded by Andy truly represent the apartment. What you see is what you get, that is a bohemian and romantic spot in the heart of the East Village. Andy is one of the kindest owners of airbnb who tried to make my life easy from the very beginning. Andy's place is the ideal choice for one person or a couple.
