The Space

My beautiful home is located in a historic building in the Prospect Heights/Grand Army Plaza section of Brooklyn. Directly across the street from the Brooklyn Public Library, Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and the Brooklyn Museum, this is the perfect location to enjoy Brooklyn's grandeur. A half block from the 2/3 subway and walking distance to farmer's markets, restaurants, bars, shops, etc, this is Brooklyn at its best!

The building is a doorman/elevator building, with charming details. The apartment is cozy and lovingly decorated with bright colors and vintage charm. The kitchen is new and well stocked for those who like to cook - and the Saturday's Farmer's (email hidden) Plaza makes it easy. More than 1 guest has told me that staying here feels like a trip to Paris! Put on a record, make some coffee, and use this space as a great lift off for an amazing NYC get away.

Pics speak for themselves, its a great place. Any questions, please ask! As I mentioned elsewhere on this site, I'm an original New Yorker and have lived in this neighborhood for 10 years - I can regale you with stories about the area, and give you great tips about secrets only a local would know.

I have a lovely kitty, and while she won't be in the house when you are renting it, those with allergies should be aware!

I also have Apple TV and wireless.

  • Sarah's studio was beyond what we'd expected! Very clean, cosy and in a lovely neighbourhood. A real "home away from home". As we Dutchies would call it: gezellig! Also a 5 star rating for the bed! We'd wish would could take it home, we slept like babies and in the morning it was sometimes hard to get up...

The apartment is easy to find, near the museum and botanical garden and Manhattan is just a 20 minute metro ride away. Don't forget to explore Brooklyn while you're there and DO NOT MISS Coney Island on a sunny day!

Sarah is very sweet, smart and just a text away to help you out, as a born and raised Brooklyn girl she knows all the nice places to go to! It was great to meet her and we will sure visit her place again!I hi

  • The flat was spacious with great decor and conveniently located 5 minutes walk from a couple of subway stations. Sarah arranged for us to pick up the keys at a local cafe as she was out of down which was great as we arrived a bit later than planned. Sarah answered all our question prior to our visit and left detailed instructions/information in the flat which covered all additional questions we had (taxi numbers, wifi access, local walks etc...) The location is safe and really quiet. Staying in Brooklyn was a great call, we visited areas we probably wouldn't have if we would have gone for a Manhattan based flat. Great flat, great location, great value what more do you want :-)

  • Great place, cozy apartment, very well located. Sarah left everything in perfect order for us. And a plus, not very often found in Brooklyn: the building, a very charming one, has an elevator! Thanks, Sarah!

  • Overall, quite good, especially because of the location--excellent access to subway and in a great neighborhood to explore--Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum, and fine restaurants. of all kinds. The apartment had no TV or radio, but the place was clean with a very nice kitchen. Also, the area is very safe and comfortable for walking.

  • This was a beautiful and cozy apartment-- perfect for two. The street was quiet (and nice!) and the we appreciated being so close to a subway stop. It made traveling to the city a breeze. My husband is a light sleeper and the heater (when it came on) bothered him a little the first night. With earplugs-- he was all good for the remainder of the stay. Sarah, the host, was extremely friendly, helpful and always prompt with communication. It was a lovely trip and this apartment served as a wonderful home base. We were thankful to be there.

  • Sarah's apartment is absolutely beautiful, and located on an excellent block directly across from the Brooklyn Library and Brooklyn Museum. It's laid out very well, and the art lining the walls and old record player by the bed add to the bohemian brooklyn feel.
The heater is a bit loud during the evening, and the room can get rather warm, but the location and her friendly personality make up for it.

  • Sarah's apartment is cosy, safe and in a great location. Very close to the subway. Very peaceful at night. A doorman downstairs.
Sarah replies quickly to emails and gave us useful tips about where to go in the neighbourhood and how to get around.
The apartment is fairly clean. A comfortable bed and couch. Towels provided.
There was no closet for our stuff so we lived out of our suitcases but for 5 days that was ok.
All in all a great experience and a very comfortable stay!

  • I absolutely loved staying at Sarah and Pippi's house. Everything was exactly as in the pictures and Sarah was a wonderful host. I had the joy of talking care of her cat, Pippi which was a pleasure. I have two at home so it made me feel more like home. The neighborhood was fantastic, quiet and extremely safe and cared for. Great old elevator takes you up to the apt. I can't wait to go back and plan to very soon.

Hello!! I am a traveling, celebrating, outdoor-loving original New Yorker (born in Brooklyn!) who loves my hometown. I am also a founding member of a new high school in Manhattan for at-risk students. I like AirBnB for the chance to meet interesting travelers, share stories, and provide access to this wonderful city. I love to travel - and this year have spent time in Tulum, Mexico and Berlin. I also love to travel in South America, and have travelled to Peru and Bolivia, Brazil, Guyana and Venezuela. More to come, hopefully! I am here to make your stay comfortable and interesting, and I have great recommendations for off the beaten path restaurants, nightlife, parks, museums and the secret gems that only a local can know.
