A bolthole created from passion by Kaemingk Collection, The Green Door PDX was designed to provide a unique respite from the energy of Portland while being conveniently located only minutes from downtown and popular shopping/eating districts. We have taken queues from Europe and built a traditional field cottage tucked into the landscape at the front of the property and surrounded it with mature greenery for an inviting welcome and ultimate privacy for our guests.
The space
Upon arrival, greeting you is a handmade steel pivoting door opening into a space to rival most luxury hotel suites. At 500 square feet, the cottage is laid out like a cozy studio but lives large with 14 foot vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan. With comfort in mind, the space is outfitted with a luxury designer king bed, Riley linens, Gilchrist and Soames toiletries, high tech heating and cooling with HEPA filter, all furnished with a high style and eclectic interior. Enjoy the large spa-like bathroom with luxury plaster shower, solid stone sink and high end plumbing fixtures throughout. Relax in the full sized living area complete with smart TV, Netflix, local books, magazines and portable Bose speaker. The kitchenette is fully stocked to prepare simple meals at home with complimentary Nespresso coffee, Numi Teas and sparkling waters. Appliances include electric cooktop, sink, microwave & toaster, and mini fridge. When the weather is nice, open up the steel windows and door and enjoy a drink or meal in the private courtyard out front complete with charcoal BBQ.
Whatever the season, The Green Door PDX provides a calming and unique experience for all guests. Whether it be the scents of jasmine and lavender in the spring and summer, or the coziness and light filtering through the windows in the fall and winter, anytime is a great time to stay.
Guest access
This entire stand alone guest cottage is all yours, accessible by keypad and code. The cottage is located at the front of the property to give guests separation and privacy from the main house. In front of the cottage is an intimate courtyard for dining, drinking or relaxing alfresco.
