Conveniently located 1 bedroom duplex apartment on the banks of the Yarra River and within easy walking distance of public transport, Collingwood Children's Farm, restaurants, pubs and shops.

The Space

Contemporary duplex inner city warehouse conversion apartment on the banks of Melbourne's mighty Yarra River, with gorgeous uninterrupted views over unspoilt parkland. It's like being in the Australian bush whilst in the inner sanctum of the World's Most Liveable City!

The apartment has all you could need during your stay:
UPSTAIRS: Open plan lounge plus kitchen with balcony.
DOWNSTAIRS: Double bedroom, walk through wardrobe area, laundry, bathroom and second balcony.

Double futon bed in bedroom.
Clean linen and towellings.
Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, gas cooker, oven, microwave oven, fridge, toaster, crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and cooking utensils.

Stylish lounge with sofa, coffee table, DVD player and TV; perfectly complemented by original art and the unbelievable view out the window.

Free WiFi internet.
Inverter heater/air conditioner upstairs.
Wall-mounted Nobo heater downstairs (it rarely gets hot downstairs, so air conditioning is not an issue).
Separate laundry room with washing machine, drier , clotheshorse and large washbasin.
Modern shower, basin and toilet (with excellent water pressure).

Upstairs balcony has table and 4 chairs plus a coal BBQ.
Downstairs balcony has double person hammock and camping chair.

Recently renovated (opened December 2011) Victoria Park is directly across the street; and boasts free public access to a large footie (Australia Rules Football) oval, public BBQ sites, and gardens.

From your doorstep there are trails to walk along the Yarra River and Merri Creek; and the famous Collingwood Children's Farm is a short meander down river.

Victoria Park Train Station is an easy walk away; and major bus routes run along Johnston Street (5 min walk) and Punt Road (10 min walk). Victoria Park Station is just four stops from Jolimont Train Station, where you can hop off to visit the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground), Melbourne Park (the annual site of the Australian Tennis Open), and other major sporting venues. And the next stop after Jolimont is Flinders Street Station, Melbourne's major train station.

An off street parking space is included (handy if you are renting a car).

The area is safe and tranquil, and you're sure to see dogs being walked and kids playing in Victoria Park during your stay. The area includes numerous pubs (some famous), restaurants, art galleries, an IGA supermarket and a dry cleaner.

Smoking is only allowed on the balconies.

Guest Access

The entire apartment is available and includes full separate laundry and 1 off street parking spot.

Interaction with Guests

I live in Melbourne and am always available for assistance/queries on my mobile, but I leave my guests uninterrupted so that they can enjoy their holiday/trip as they wish, and they can treat my apartment like their home away from home.

Getting around

The apartment is a short walk from train station and bus stops.

Other Things to Note

Please note that the bed is a double futon bed. I think it's very comfortable, but it's not to everyone's taste. It is not a futon couch, but an actual futon bed.

  • This is a great apartment with a beautiful view and close to public transport. A 5 minute walk east on Johnston street gets you to the former Abbotsford Convent that has been converted into retail space and includes the wonderful Lentil As Anything buffet restaurant where you can donate whatever you want for a very good meal. This is certainly Melbourne's best restaurant value.

  • This was a fabulous place to stay in Melbourne. Comfortable, clean with everything you need. Easy access to public transport and not too far away from the heart of Melbourne. Justin as a host was very easy to communicate with and had everything arranged to perfection. Easy to follow instructions to find the apartment and a treat waiting in the fridge which was welcomed after a long journey. I will certainly contact Justin again next time I'll be in Melbourne.

  • I stayed at Justin's apartment for a week. The location was great. The apartment overlooks the Yarra Bend green-space, where I was able to do some great runs in the evenings. The highway makes for a bit of noise with the balcony sliders open, but can barely be heard when closed. It's a short walk to the subway that got me into the CBD pretty quick. I even walked from downtown back to the apartment one evening, which was a lovely walk thru safe neighborhoods.

The apartment has a nice layout with the kitchen and living room upstairs and bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room downstairs. There is an apartment above, and you can surely hear the tenants walking around, but wasn't too bad. The apartment is clean and well-stocked with all you should need. The furniture is a bit sparse, but all the basics are there. Be aware that the bed is a futon low to the floor and a bit hard if you might prefer a softer, normal bed.

Justin provided some basic food to get me started. This made my first and other mornings easy. A very nice perk.

Justin was very helpful and resolved the couple issues I had when I first arrived. He genuinely tried to improve my stay. Overall, this a good value for the money.

  • Justin is a great host - the stay in the apt is advertising for Airbnb, for Melbourne and for Justin himself. The small differences as we arrived - the important Myki cards for public transport, infos for the stay in Melbourne, the look into the fridge with a starter ;-) ... (the river flowing, the balconies...) Thanks Justin for making our trip a triple thumbs up experience!

  • Lovely apartment, excellent view and Justin was a great and generous host!
I booked the apartment for my mum to stay in on a visit to Melbourne and she loved it. Very special spot with balcony looking over the Yarra!

  • Justin's place was Young, Tasteful & Warm. The view from both upstairs and downstairs balconies of the Yara and surrounding bush was very peaceful and made a restful refuge from our otherwise busy life. Thank you Justin

  • A wonderful experience! A cozy apartment in a great location with a gorgeous view of the Yarra river and a delightful host. Justin was always available to answer questions, offer helpful suggestions on local sites and eateries, and was incredibly accommodating with "check- in" and "check-out". The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, TV, Internet, and a deck for enjoying sunrises and sunsets. Perfect for a single person or couple.

  • Justin's place was in a great location a short walk away from the train and just a short stroll into the heart of Collingwood. Everything needed for a great stay and Justin was super quick to respond. Definitely made my Melbourne trip a great one!

  • We had a very good experience in Justins appartment. Very nice view and a quiet neighbourhood. Easy access to buses to city and Justin provided us with Myki cards. In the fridge we found eggs, bacon, milk and bread. Coffee, honey and even toothbrush and paste was there for us. We felt very welcome.
