Very nice house, well situated in a beautiful and quite neighborhood equipped with all the stuff you need while away with excellent bed! The dogs perfectly behaved.Nancy, is a great host, gave lots of helpful information and tips. I can recommend it!!!! Thanks a lot, Nancy
Nancy was very welcoming, full of information and made me feel very comfortable in her home. The neighborhood is quiet with lots of winding streets which made for interesting walks. Lookout Mountain nearby afforded lots of opportunity for hiking, both easy and more challenging. The area is close to connecting highways to all parts of Phoenix and area, and plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. Would definitely book here again. The dogs are the best behaved and well trained dogs I have encountered and they quickly became my friends.
My husband and I were essentially greeted by Nancy prior to our arrival at her home, meaning out flight was delayed 2x and therefore the prior agreed upon time for us to reach her home had long since passed. Nancy was gracious and very understanding of 'travel' issues and assured us it was no problem, and then once we arrived she was there and warmly welcomed us into her home. Our stay with Nancy and her family was really wonderful, they were all very friendly and interested in 'us' and made us feel completely at home. The home was neat and clean and she went the extra mile to provide some personal touches that you'd expect perhaps if you arrived at a 'relatives' home. Nancy was helpful with directions, letting us 'borrow' a few items (cooler. maps, etc) without hesitation. All in all it was truly a lovely experience and with this being my first foray into airbnb.com I'd have to say it was highly successful due to being fortunate to have been accepted by Nancy to stay in her home!.
Nancy and the house (and her two dogs, Blue & Ranger) are AWESOME! If you're looking for a friendly, kind, laid-back, convenient, safe place to stay, you won't go wrong here!
The location is fantastic. There are 3 Starbucks within a mile, same with grocery stores, and everything else you could imagine. Great hiking trails and views are right outside your door.
The pool is fun and she has everything you need to enjoy your stay - from a great BBQ grill to every kitchen utensil imaginable. There is a decent sized small refrigerator in your room. Great water pressure in the shower. Laundry privileges too!
Your side of the house has its own thermostat so you can stay cool. She provided a humidifier for your room too! The bed is comfortable, and there are lots of shelves and storage areas in the room.
You won't go wrong here!
Nancy made the entire experience so easy. She provided great communication/instructions/directions prior to my arrival. Nancy is such a nice, easy going, accommodating person. Since I am a very quiet person, I appreciated the fact that I could be left to my privacy and/or interact as freely as I wished. I knew I was always welcome to join in on socializing, if I so wished. Nancy's home is conveniently located to anything and everything a person could possibly want or need. She also has the two best behaved dogs I've ever been around.
We had a great experience staying at Nancy's place. She was welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. She was very helpful and informative on what do do and see in Phoenix and locations of specific places. We visited a lot and it was like a home away from home. The room (with lots of space) and bed were comfortable and it was close to the bathroom. I like to go in the hot tub when I get up in the morning so it was great to have the nice hot tub. Most of the time it was a bit cool for swimming when we were there but the pool was cool to look at and listen to.The location was excellent with nearby mountain trails, parks, shopping malls, shops and lots of restaurants and cafes. The kitchen had everything we needed. We would stay with Nancy again and highly recommend staying at her place. Nancy is more then a room special. She likes meeting and sharing with people. We are moving here and she has become a friend to keep. I like her since of humor ,easy going personality.
I purchased this for a friend in need who was going through radiation by herself and needed a place to stay... This is her review:
Not a pleasant stay.
The house is filthy. There is pet dander everywhere in the home. There are also piles upon piles of stuff in the shared living space as the owner of the home sifts through paperwork, storage items and whatever her latest dumpster-dive finds happen to be. The pet odor in the home is overwhelmingly foul. (I'm a dog person. I own an indoor dog. And I was bothered by the mess/smell the animals made.) Pet food was given to the dogs on the floor, leaving a daily mess over the living room and kitchen tile. The kitchen was too dirty and cluttered for me to be able to prepare my own meals. The owner's dogs let themselves in and out of my room at their leisure and would often help themselves to napping on my bed, leaving dander all over the place that I was paying to sleep. They also dominated the couch in the living room, so there was nowhere in the home to sit comfortably. The dogs also dug up the yard on a daily basis and would track dirt and sand all through the house wherever they went.
I also felt taken advantage of by the host. She used groceries that I had purchased without replenishing or reimbursing me for the food. She helped herself to my $65 a bag organic dog food to feed her own pets. And after her male husky marked his territory several times by urinating outside of my room (which I cleaned up), the host kept my security deposit claiming my pet made the messes and that it had damaged the tile floor. (Tile... the mess was cleaned up, again by me, with a mop and floor cleaner... there was no permanent damage.) During my 6 week stay in this home, the host boasted to me several times about the home improvements she had been able to make by keeping renters' security deposits. I think she probably has a pattern of reporting false damages to make extra cash.
I would advise anyone seeking a place to stay in Phoenix to look elsewhere before booking this place.

About the Host, Nancy
Minnesota "snowbird" who decided to stay in the warmer weather full-time. "Midwest Nice" is not just a saying, I have a large home that works well to host guests and provides a friendly comfortable place for travelers. Hosting renters is a helpful thing that I can do.
I'm a recently retired educational professional with two well-behaved dogs. Both dogs have been fully trained and used to spend most days in the classroom with me for the special needs kids whom I used to teach.
I look forward to hosting guests who come to visit!
