We were embarrassed to show up 2 hours after the agreed time of our arrival, since our shuttle took much more time than expected. Inigo had gotten back to work when we finally got there but he left to meet us, even taking the time to show us around town, which was really neat. We encountered some WiFi problems, which were quickly solved by Carolina. She was just as sweet as her husband, and their dogs are awesome.
The house was great, perfect for a couple. With all the windows and fans, the temperature inside was kept cool and comfortable. The bed felt nice too, and the place was really clean.
We loved the neighborhood, a glimpse of real Costa Rican life in an otherwise extremely touristy town. We got to meet a few neighbors and George even took us to his house, which was really funny as we speak no Spanish and him no English nor French! It felt like a tight community, in which we felt welcome. It is also very easy to get around.
You might know that Costa Rica has a lot of dogs, and they bark a lot. One would start, then another, and soon it would be a loud party of barks and howls. The roosters were also a problem, especially one bird who seemed a bit bipolar, as he would randomly start up at any time, day or night, and had the most annoying cock-a-doodle-doo you can possibly imagine. We didn't sleep very well...
Bring a good pair of earplugs, and it should be fine though :)
Thank you! Pura Vida!
titico house was a fantastic experience, immersed in the nature of the national park Manuel Antonio. We stayed four days and we will definitely return to the loop in the south pacifico.Carolina and Inigo were invaluable with their advice and information on what to see, where to eat and the best beaches are very nice and very kind. fantastic! We recommend that all home titico, we will definitely be back
If you're looking for an experience that's not an expensive and stuffy resort or hotel, Carolina and Inigo's place is just for you. Located right behind the Hotel Villas Lirio (Best Western) on the main road between Quepos and Manuel Antonio, Titico House was easy to get to and within easy access of all Manuel Antonio has to offer. The place is about a 3 minute walk from a public bus stop, which is so easy to use (and cheap!). Though we didn't get a chance to meet Carolina (sad face!) we did meet Inigo, who met us at the bus stop and gave us such great and friendly advice during our stay. Before our booking, both were both so helpful and responsive, directing us to the correct bus line (TRACOPA) which vastly reduced our stress. The casa itself is simple, but was a perfect base camp to explore the area. Plus, it's a steal of a deal. If you're looking for a slightly rustic and local experience, this place is wonderful.
Good deal near parque manuel Antonio !
Our hosts made us feel so welcome. They provided breakfast one morning, and helped us learn away around the small town. We were accompanied to the grocery store on the first night, which was great. The room is very nice, and it's in a safe neighborhood. They had a couple parking options as well if you rent a car. Access to the national park is a breeze, as is it down to Quepos. The house sits in between the two locations and is really nicely positioned. There are a few groceries, and many restaurants, all in walking distance.
We would love to stay with this wonderful couple again!
