Casa N was only build two years ago...but with its antique "Mosaico"-floors, thick walls of natural stone, Mexican Artesania and cedar-wood furniture, it breathes the charme and style of a typical yucatec hacienda. Fall asleep to the sound of crickets, watching the stars from your bed....
Casa N has an airy and cozy sleeping room, a living area with a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious bathroom and a little room for the washing machine. all streched out over 80m2. There's a carport in the garden. The size of my property is about 385 m2.
Casa N is braced by a wooden deck and a garden. now, that there are (still) no immediate neighbors, you have a pretty nice view over the surrounding flora and fauna.different species of palmtrees and other tropical woods are the habitat of woodpeckers, parrots, chachalacas, many others...and sometimes you can even see a tucan!
Casa N is situated on the south side of Tulum, in "Colonia La Veleta", aprox. 6 km from the beach, 2 km from the most beautiful of cenotes, 1 km from supermarkets and fruit stores and zero km from nature. For your convenience we provide two bikes. Taxis are inexpensive in Tulum and there's plenty of them everywhere.
At your arrival there's always coffee, a choice of different teas, spices and other essential cooking ingredients in the kitchen. There's a dock for your ipod and you'll also find fresh towels and sheets at your disposal, whenever you want to change.
The reservation was canceled 55 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We loved staying at steffies house it was beyond lovely!
The house is designed to perfection really very easy all around in every way
I loved the large windows looking out into jungle in the bedroom and the sound of roosters and chickens from early am on
The house is in a great and real location and we definately felt safe
Their are kids and dogs and chickens and many expats building their dream homes side by side next to the locals very intersting mix
It's great to bike into town and was oneof our favorite thing to do!
It was easy to get to th beach by car which we did rent it was about six miles I got up early to take yoga at the beach and drove there every day
It would have been a long bike ride e Rey day but totally doable
Ultimately We were fine not staying at the beach be ause the food prices there were much much more pricey at thr beach and also it was great to be near locals and not always around tourists much more informative for us and real
It a very beautiful and peaceful place to stay very light and airy
Steffi was an enormous help with places we should visit and where to eat and when we traveled to Merida she gave us many many options
She is the best tour guide ever !
Living in a stone house is an enormous treat
Hats off to Steffi and thank you

We loved Steffi's house! Don Thomas took care of us when a wind storm knocked down the gate while we were out. The house was so special, we stayed 5 nights and wanted to stay the whole trip. It was homey, very comfortable at night with just the ceiling fan, and so full of style, life and traveler books we took the liberty of looking through while on the hammock. Steffi wasn't around but was so helpful and knowledgable before our arrival. Her friend, Fiona watched out for us and she was so great and sweet. We love Fiona!Light writing and star gazing on the roof at night was fun! This place is beautiful and so welcoming. We cooked and blended to our heart's content. Steffi's house greeted us with fresh flowers and fruit!! We rode the free bikes into town and to the cenotes just a couple km down the road. We are eager to come back soon. :) Muchisimas Gracias, Steff!!
We stayed here for a week and loved it. The house looks exactly the way it does in the pictures. It is beautiful and gets amazing light all day. The bed was perfectly comfortable, the bathroom was huge, the shower had great water pressure, the laundry machine worked well, and the kitchen was well-equipped (blender, pots and pans, utensils, etc.). There were also plenty of huge towels that were perfect for the beach, and two bikes.
The house is on a residential street that is quiet but also lively with children playing, neighborhood dogs, and some chickens, ducks, and turkeys. We always felt safe and welcome.
The main road in town is about three blocks away and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The beach was about 10 minutes away.
Finally, Steffi was great. She was friendly, warm, and funny, and made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend her house and hope to go back ourselves soon!
Steffi's place is just perfect! It's not on the beach (what is normal in Tulum), but in a beautiful authentic street in the middle of the jungle. It's a nice little house built with natural stones and a lot of style, a beautiful mix of traditonal and modern. It's cosy and charming, perfectly clean, and last but not least, everything is made to respect the environment.
Add to that the amazing Steffi who can speak english, spanish and german, her great sense of welcoming and her smile: this place is amazing.
I love this house! It is beautifully constructed and decorated. Steffi was a wonderful host. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and at home. She provided a lot of information about the area and was available to answer any of our questions. I would definitely stay here again.
We had a great time at Steffi's place! If you're looking somewhere that's outside of the more touristy zona hotelera, her house is a great option. It's lovely, quiet, and within walking distance to the main avenida so that you've got plenty of dining options nearby. We loved falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the forest and the wind in the trees. Steffi provided us with a lot of great suggestions for eating out and other things close by, left us a mobile phone to use, and was generally every helpful and friendly.
I definitely recommend having a bike and/or car to get around. The town of Tulum is very walkable and while Steffi's place is on the outskirts of town, it's not an unreasonable walk to get to places within Tulum itself. However, if you're planning on spending time at the beach, you'll need a bike to get there -- not a long ride by bike by any means, but a bit of a hike on foot. There currently is not a road connecting the west side of town (where Steffi's house is) to the beach, so that makes getting to the beach just a bit farther than what is described in the guidebooks. Apparently there will a connecting road on that side of town soon (but perhaps that's not a good thing??)
Also, just an FYI -- use Steffi's directions to get to her place and don't rely on the map that shows up on this site. The map doesn't quite have the address right. Her directions will get you there, though.
We wish we could have stayed longer, but had to get back. I would definitely recommend her place!
How lucky am I to spend my first days in Tulum at Steffis house?
It is a small one bedroom house, she created herself, wih a beautiful view from the roof, where you can see the sun waking up. The Mexican neighbours play music, the roaster wakes you up and makes and you are ready for a day in Tulum.
Steffi is a very warm and helpful person. The communication before went very easy and when I arrived I felt home from the very first second. There are many books about Mexico in her bookshelf, the bed is just made for sleeping and you can watch your movies on a quiet night. There are many lovely details in the house and a hammock to relax in.
Steffi has got so many insider tipps and knows almost everything and everyone in Tulum. The house looks like on the pictures, even nicer I would say and is located a little outside of town but there are many taxis passing by the Avenida, which is just some steps away. And there ist he bestbestbest restaurant just across the street, where they serve fresh seafood tacos in a leaf of salad. You have to eat there!
I would reccomend a bike or to rent a car, but I survived easily without both of them.
Perfect for friends or a couple, perfect or longer stays, and people who would like to get tgo know the real Tulum. I would love to stay here forever, but Steffi wants her bed back.
I had a beautiful time, thank you, and I will come back for sure.
Steffi also offers exclusive guided tours around the area.If you want to learn more about Mexico and see places no tourist has ever been ask her, she ist he one.
