I am located in a friendly safe central neighbourhood with restaurants, bars and coffee shops cinema across all minutes away. You are 15 to 20 minutes walk to Trinity/Grafton/Stephens Green street/center of town or a 10 minute bus ride (.3 seconds to bus stop ☺.) An 18 goes to Sandymount and Palmerstown. The Luas is 10-15 minutes walk away and loads and loads of cabs. It’s free parking after 6 and before 8 am and at weekends. From the airport its either a cab or a bus into town and then 14-15 from Trinity. I can usually organise a pick up for €25.
City living, great Irish pubs, the beautiful seaside, amazing local restaurants and Dublin nightlife within 5 minutes! Your own big bright comfy double room .
10 mins walk away is a beautiful beach with lovely walks. Walk along the sea, cycle along the coast, visit the park or go to one of the many cute cafes or restaurants in the neighbourhood.
We are convenient to the RDS, the Bord Gáis Theatre, the Conference Centre, the O2, Lansdowne Aviva Stadium, Croke Park and the Universities, Trinity and UCD.
Every guest has commented on how comfortable the bed is. The house is across the road from a mini supermarket and a bigger supermarket is available 7 minutes walk away.
Smoking is only permitted outside and if you have a pet, let me know, I’m not keen on any poop messes but adore animals so hopefully we can work things out!
All of the house is available but naturally my room and office is off limits! If you stay a week or more I will do a load of washing for you. Guests are welcome to avail of all of the house's amenities. There is a shared bathroom with an electric shower. Just an FYI my printer hasn’t worked in a while, hopefully I will have a new one by the time you arrive but just in case, don’t rely on me to print your travel documents! Shared TV and Wifi. Big garden too! The sitting room is cosy (but not small) with a lovely fireplace.
But other than that, cook away, light a fire, watch TV.
Shared bathroom and kitchen so a clean and respectful guest is always welcome!
Interaction with Guests
I don’t move out while guests and here and It’s a quiet house and I do work from home so need a certain level of respect and quiet time. I am here quite often though have a busy social and work life so it depends on the timing really. I would be delighted to share some tips on the city for anyone who needs it but the level of interaction depends on the guest and the time of year. I wont be intrusive and will respect your space.
The neighborhood is a small village type place. There is a couple of pubs doing pub grub locally, grand canal square is lovely too.its a village type atmosphere ..a great community and very near the centre city.
If you're in Dublin for a match or concert at the Aviva you won't find a better place!
transport bus luas (swift tram), number 1 and 47 bus but in Dublin you can walk almost anywhere!
Grand canal dart station is a ten minute walk, you can go into the city, or north or south to Dublin's coastal towns from there
Smoking out the back only
Ideally, no 2 hour showers!
No shoes in the house.
Julie is a great host. She was very helpful and generous. The apartment is in walking distance to the Dublin Bay and also to offices like AirBnB and Google.
As I just spent one day in Dublin for business and could not manage to get the key during the day, Julie was flexible enough to open her door for me in the evening. This is a cozy flat just a stone throw's away in walking distance from my office so the ideal place to stay.
Julie was a very welcoming and friendly host! Her house is in great condition, very warm, quiet and the bedroom has a comfy bed and lovely afternoon sun. I had a great stay here and would highly recommend this for anyone else visiting Dublin.
Very nice experience to stay just enough outside of the city center bustle and get the feel of a neighborhood. Super convenient to walk and to take bus or train anywhere.
The flat is spacious, cosy, quiet. Julie is a lovely person and welcoming hostess. The room was quite comfortable and this is a very nice place to stay
Julie was an amazing host. My wife and I arrived in the afternoon and Julie met us and gave us information on everything in the area. We ended up going out for dinner with her and a friend and had a great evening with great food and conversation. The place was as advertised and Julie shared her home and stayed out of the way but was there whenever needed. I would recommend Julie's place to anyone traveling to Dublin.
