Beautiful mountain cabin in the trees. A mix of woodsy and modern. Located less than a mile from Lake Tahoe in a truly magical setting adjacent to National Forest land. Close to hiking, biking, sledding, skiing and more.
Living room and dining room area with sofa chair and dining table that seats 6. Television with cable and dvd player
This is one special place! The cabin is located less than a mile from the Lake and close to a dog beach (Patton Beach), where you can rent kayaks and paddle boards in the summer and even have an excellent breakfast, lunch or a beer. In the winter you can walk out the back door for snow shoeing, skiing and sledding. Only 15 minutes to Northstar and 25 minutes to Squaw and Alpine.
Our home has an open cabin feel with lots of light wood and comfortable furniture. All of the bedding and kitchen equipment are of high quality (not the run down cabin stuff you usually encounter). The upstairs comfortably sleeps 5, and the very comfortable downstairs queen sized sofa bed sleeps 2. The upstairs sleeping configuration is a queen sized bed in one room and the bunkroom has a full and twin sized bunk (sleeps 3).
We just updated and upgraded our cabin by adding a beautiful Hot Springs hot tub/spa to our back deck. It is incredible and has a fabulous private view of the conservancy land behind the house. A great place to relax and look at the stars.
We prefer to rent to 6 people max, but will consider 7 if there are children in the group.
During the Summer Season (June 15th-Labor Day) and Ski Season (January through March) there is a 3-night minimum. Over the Christmas, New Year and February ski weeks we have a weekly minimum stay.
We have great high speed internet wifi, cable television and a gas grill for summer use. We have loads of games, dvds and beach toys to share with you.
In the Summer we have a membership to Agate Bay Swim and Sun Club with a pool and tennis courts. The pool is open from June 16th through Labor Day and is a great place to hang out, take a swim and get a milkshake or hot dog at the Snack Shack. There is a volleyball court and a grassy lawn. The pool area also has a hot tub and plenty of lounge chairs and tables. Fridays there is a penny dive for the kids and Wednesdays there is bingo in the afternoon.
Interaction with Guests
We have a local property manager who is available for key pick up and in case any problems come up during your stay. We will of course be available by telephone, email and text.
Agate Bay is a great neighborhood with lots of families and dogs with a mix of year-round residents and summer folks. We are only two miles to Kings Beach and the 24 hour Safeway, 7 miles to Tahoe City and about the same distance to Incline Village. Mini golf is right down the street across from Patton Beach as is Garwoods and their famous Wet Woody's. You can even get Jiffy's to deliver pizza right to the door.
No smoking inside or out. We do allow pets but require you to supervise them. We have a house rules document that will be provided ahead of time and a copy is at the house.
Really enjoyed our stay. Nicely kept kitchen with appliances, spices, and utensils I would expect in my own cabin. All amenities were clean and functional
Fireplace really pumps some heat :)
House was great and exactly as described. Very warm and cozy Tahoe Cabin feel.
Lorraine's cabin was truly awesome and was perfect for our ski trip in north lake tahoe. The place had everything we could have possibly needed for the trip, it was clean and above all very cozy. Highly recommended for a getaway with friends or family. Lorraine was also a great host and very responsive to any questions we had. It was a wonderful stay and i would definitely go back next time i go to tahoe.
Lorraine is a great host and communication was a breeze. The house is in great condition and has a very homey feel to it. It has a private feel that makes it great to unwind and relax. There were plenty of amenities and the house is stocked with the essentials to get the trip started.
The location is perfect if you want to do some winter sports, Lake Tahoe is less then a 10 minute walk, and the grocery store is a 5 minute drive away. Dinning and restaurants are also very close.
We stayed during the winter time, but I can imagine during the summer that it would be a good place to stay and enjoy The Lake Tahoe Area.
Lorraine's house was great. The deck out front is a great space for flipping through magazines and just chillin'. The pool in the neighborhood is clean and kids loved it- plus, it's walking distance from the house which is great.
Tahoe lake beaches are not far and easy to access so people movement wasn't hard.
Beds were comfy, kitchen was well stocked and the BBQ worked great. I'd rent again and recommend it for both a small group or a full house. Thx!
We had an excellent stay in Lorraine's cabin. She sent us a nice note once we checked in and was available if we needed anything.
The cabin has everything you would need for a family of four. I stayed with my wife and two daughters. The kids appreciated the beach toys and abundance of movies (dvd's) to pick from. Overall we had a great experience!
This home was awesome, it made our weekend getaway very relaxing. Beautiful view from the decks and more beautiful was the view from the hiking trail just out the rear door of the home. The home had all the amenities we needed. Lorraine was very helpful and available for any questions. There's pool access just a few blocks away which we used. The beds were very comfortable and each room had fans that helped. I especially got spoiled with the dishwasher. The home is very welcoming and I would definitely rent it again.
I am a reformed attorney, inspired cook and lover of all things sunny. Last year I learned to paddle board. This year I took an amazing trip to Amsterdam and Ireland. I am looking forward to the summer and my husband's cocktail creations on the deck of our tree top retreat--which I happen to think is one of the most special places this side of the Mississippi.
