Coho Cabin, is located at the old fishing town of Pillar Rock . Cannery not viewable from cabin but only short walk. Each guest has an opportunity to tour the Pillar Rock Cannery, originally established in 1877. Lewis and Clark also camped here and documented they first saw the ocean. Located on the banks of the Columbia River, the cabin has absolutely fantastic views! View and enjoy a beautiful sandy beach, with access from the cabin. Upstream is a stunning view of historical Pillar Rock.

The space
Krista's family moved to Pillar Rock in 1979 and have loved living here ever since. Our family and friends have spent countless hours working to keep the Cannery from collapsing into the river while caring for this historical piece of property. Cannery tours available upon request. The cannery is not viewable from the cabin but is just a short walk or drive away. The area is very rich in local history, Lewis and Clark, York, Sacajawea and the rest of the Corp of Discovery were believed to have camped here in 1805 and documented in their journals they saw the ocean for the very first time. From your cabin you will enjoy the same stunning views of the Columbia River, the beach and Pillar Rock. You will also view commercial ship traffic as it passes by headed for destinations throughout the world. We share the property with abundant and diverse wildlife.

We are remote! 20 minutes to Rosburg store and diner with limited groceries. 35 minutes to nearest medium size grocery stores, or gas stations in Naselle WA or Cathlamet WA. 1 hour from Astoria OR and larger stores like Costco, Fred Meyer, etc. We are 1 hour from the ocean beaches at Longbeach.
The other nearest bigger town for shopping would be Longview WA a little over an hour away. Make sure to stock up on food and gas.

We have a smart TV and fast fiber optic Wifi. We also provide a DVD player and nice selection of DVDs. Bag toss, Bocce ball, board games, cards, puzzles and beach toys provided.

There is another rental on the property (the Chinook House) around 100 yards away with a wooded area in between. the beach approach is shared but there is ample beach and grounds for all. Activities include beach combing, sunbathing, swimming, fishing, hiking. You are welcome to bring your own mountain bikes, wind surf boards and kayaks. We provide 2 kayaks shared between cabins. Boat launch available for small boats and wave runners. Our sandy beach is great for kids. Spend evenings around the fire pits to toast marshmallows and view beautiful sunsets. We provide your firewood.

This is truly our paradise and we would like to share it with you!

The Pillar Rock Cannery(a short walk or drive away but not viewable from cabin), Pillar Rock and the Columbia River are our special landmarks. In August of 2017 a lightning storm passed through the area, a lightning bolt struck one of the largest fir trees on the property. You can see the site from your cabin, view the devastation and feel the energy at the "Lightning Tree."
In addition to our road and beach, we have a hiking/nature trail to explore more of the property. 20 minutes away in Graysriver stands an amazing covered bridge to visit.
