About This Listing
Enjoy Berlin in a quiet, excellently equipped dream studio apartment with balcony in the idyllic surroundings of Prenzlauer Berg with lots of cosy cafés, restaurants and unique shops nearby. The only risk is wanting to stay…
You'd love the airy feeling of the studio, the high stucco ceilings, the big windows and the excellently equipped kitchen with oven/microwave, ceramic glass hob, hidden hood, dish washer, extra big fridge/deep freezer and snugly bench under the window where you can watch your partner cook for you ;). The bathroom is a highlight itself with lots of shelf space for your bits and pieces, an illuminated vanity mirror, luxurious old-style faucets and radiator. At daytime the queen sized wallbed is hidden behind a folding screen in the wall unit, nearly effortlessly you'll let it down and be surprised by its comfort and snugness including reading lamps. The balcony is small but the ideal place for breakfast in summer time or a romantic dinner al fresco.
From free WiFi internet access to speakers you may connect with your smartphone, from radio to cable TV, from hairdryer to flat iron and iron board, from vacuum cleaner to toaster, citrus juicer, coffee maker and food processor to a picnic basket you'll find everything that will make your stay comfortable and pleasurable. There is plenty of storage space for your belongings in the wall units, on shelves and in the walk-in closet in the vestibule - so you can easily keep the uncluttered atmosphere if you like. But in case you are missing something - just ask!
Interaction with Guests
I'll be glad to welcome you personally, have a drink with you and show you everything you'll need to know. You may contact me at day and night in case of urgent requests.
The brand-new refurbished apartment is situated on the second floor of a listed building in a tree-lined quiet street of the charming Bötzow-Viertel in Prenzlauer Berg, close to the Volkspark Friedrichshain and many relaxed restaurants, bars and cafés.
The tram stops just a block away and takes you to Alexanderplatz, the main transport hub, or to Hackescher Markt within a few minutes. Close by you'll find a bicycle rent station.
Other Things to Note
The City of Berlin raises a so-called "city tax" for all tourists except for business travellers (5 per cent of the rental price plus cleaning). The city tax has to be paid in cash at arrival.
Guests staying at least one week will be provided with another set of bed linens and towels.
For guests staying at least 12 days a cleaning up and change of bed linens and towels is included without additional costs.
If guests are staying for a month or longer this service is weekly.
Guests coming by car should apply for a guest parking license for parking their car in the street. At day time they will find a parking lot nearly always in front of the house. Without a parking license they have to feed the parking meter (1 €/hour, 16 hours/day - free on Sundays). The fee for the license depends on the length of their stay (about 35 € for two weeks). The application for the license has to be made latest two weeks prior to arrival. I'll arrange everything so they'll find their license at arrival (to be paid cash immediately).
Standard check-in time is 2 p.m. or any other meeting time I agreed. If guests do not text or call me in case of delay, my maximum wait will be 30 minutes. After that guests have to arrange a new meeting time.
The apartment is in a quiet residential building and guests should take this into account, please. Parties and dinners with other people or overnight stays of non-registered persons are not allowed if not initially agreed upon.
Guests will find comfortable laundered house socks for their use or are asked to bring their own house shoes.
The apartment is strictly non-smoking but you can smoke on the balcony, of course.
In winter, the central heating should be turned down when you are absent for a couple of hours.
On request guests are provided with 2 keys for the central locking system of the house. In the very unlikely event of finding themselves locked out, I apply a charge of 50 € for coming over (to be paid cash immediately). If I cannot come in person, I will organize a locksmith service for you that will charge you directly.
Please note that in the event of a lost key the whole building has to be re-keyed for security reasons. According to the cost estimate guests will be charged for the loss.
In summer guests are kindly asked to water the plants on the balcony daily.
I expect that guests treat my apartment thoughtful and respectful. Please note that the moderate price paid for the check- out cleaning is intended for standard cleaning (3 hrs) and launderette. This doesn't include cleaning of the oven or any other issue which would require extra time. Any additional hour will be charged to the guests at a standard rate of 15 €/hour.
I cannot be held responsible (and therefore no refund is payable) for any failure or interruption of services to the flat, including electricity, internet connection, plumbing and water, or any damage, disruption or noise caused as a result of repair works being carried out in another part of the property.
I have no strict responsibility for property, money, valuables, jewellery etc., which you leave in the flat. So please keep all valuables with you when going out. At least make photos of valuables in the apartment which could prove they were there in case of burglary.
I had a great stay in Barbara's apartment. It is very close to some great cafe's and bars and all of the main sites are easily accessible by public transport.
Barbara was a great host. She provided maps and a great introduction to the apartment and surrounding areas. The photos are a very accurate reflection of the apartment- it is very comfortable.
I can recommend- in fact I will be staying there again very soon.
Barbara is a very nice host, the appartment is in a quiet area (penzlauer berg), with few cafés and restaurants nearby to take a bite. You're just a few station away from Alexanderplatz, needing around 1h to and from the ZOB/Bus station. I would highly recommend this place, as it has everything you need!
Barbara ist eine großartige Gastgeberin und super flexibel. Sie gibt super Tipps und erklärt alles was notwendig ist um sich wohl zu fühlen. Immer wieder gerne!
The apartment was lovely, really modern, impeccably clean and well-equipped. Barbara is a really nice landlady, really helpful and flexible on the arrival time.
Consigliatissimo! Grazie Barbara per il soggiorno :)
The room was fantastic, practical, clean and tidy and very convenient to the tram lines. There is also a fantastic park a couple of blocks away which was wonderful to spend an afternoon with some nibbles and wine/beer with. The room is a great size and Barbara was so helpful. She stayed late for us to check in and gave us a lot of helpful local information for a perfect time in Berlin. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to all.
Barbara was the perfect host. She was there on arrival to show us around the flat and tell us about the area. The flat is beautiful, its finished to a high spec and has some really interesting details. Location is also ina fantastic and convienient spot. The flat is located on a quiet residential tree lined street. I'd definately stay there again when i'm visiting Berlin again. Thanks Barbara!
About the Host, Barbara
Hello! I am Barbara and as you may have noticed I love to design living spaces. As a photographer and journalist for lifestyle magazines I am interested in design, literature and cooking. I speak English, a little French, less Italian but found that communication is never a big problem as long as you trust in speaking gestures.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I am looking forward to welcoming you in my stylish and comfortable apartment. See you soon, Barbara
