Enjoy convenient, comfortable and private accommodations in our home, located in a quiet, charming walkable neighborhood. Our home is just a few blocks from NC State University and a 10-minute bus ride (or a 15-minute bike ride) to downtown. Also in the neighborhood are Raleigh's Rose Garden or shopping and dining in Cameron Village.
You'll have the basement all to yourself: a simple but comfortable bedroom with full-size bed, updated private bathroom, private entrance and adjacent den with TV, DVD, and Netflix streaming. There is a mini-fridge in the room. All linens and wifi provided. Feel free to use our kitchen, or, with advance arrangements, join us for a meal.
We're well-served by public transit. a Raleigh CAT bus stop just two blocks away will take you downtown or to other destinations in town. Regional TTA buses with service to Chapel Hill, Durham, RTP, and RDU airport are just six blocks away. We also have off-street parking.
We have many bikes available for riding to campus or downtown. You can also get on Raleigh's wonderful greenway network in two places within about a mile of our house and ride to the renowned (and free!) NC Museum of Art, Umstead State Park, or the newly renovated Pullen Park, with its 100 year old carousel.
We're adaptable, so if you have a special request, let us know and we'll accommodate it if we can. We look forward to hosting you!
In addition to the amenities in the suite itself, you will have access to the kitchen upstairs, laundry, and off-street parking.
Easy access (1-5 blocks, depending on the bus you need) to cheap or free regional, city, and university bus routes that will take you to RTP, RDU airport, downtown, north Raleigh, and all around NC State's campus.
A walkable neighborhood with restaurants, coffee, and shops nearby. Sidewalks throughout the neighborhood. Bikes available for you to ride too!

Both Debbie and Evan were most helpful, giving us plenty of local tips. You basically have a floor to yourself including a very comfy bathroom with shower. You can also use a table to eat on in an adjacent family room, and watch digital tv, though it only brings in a few channels. No problem cooking breakfast upstairs in the kitchen. Can also park on their car port. Neighborhood is beautiful with ravines and lots of trees. Check out the Village Draft House (100 microbrews on tap) in Cameron Village. Raleigh is most interesting with plenty going on.
Evan and Debbie were wonderful hosts. We used their bottom floor apartment to look for a home of our own, which ended up being a few blocks down the street (we loved it so much here). A very respectful and considerate family, including Buster, that I'd recommend to anyone staying long-term or just a few days. House is only a few blocks to NC State, which includes several cafes, bookstores, restaurants, grocery stores, biking trails, etc., and you're a five minute drive to downtown proper. You can pick up HWY 40 nearby that takes you to Durham and Chapel Hill in roughly twenty minutes.
Raleigh is a beautiful city and we're so looking forward to our permanent stay in the neighborhood.
Highly recommend this listing for exploring Raleigh. The location can't be beat, close to the university, museums and shopping, yet in a safe, quiet, walkable neighborhood. The hosts are friendly, welcoming me at the front door like an old family friend, and the room is well-appointed. The flannel sheets and wool blanket are a nice touch for winter guests.
very pleasant and private space in a family home
very clean and quiet and was warm in winter
friendly hosts in a well-located spot - close to bus routes and UNC
would recommend to others
They sent email to welcome me, we kept in touch for time of arrival, they were friendly>
Debbie & Evan were great hosts. I had a very comfortable, cozy stay. Provision of a mini fridge and access to the kitchen was really helpful. The bed is super comfortable and everything was tidy and spotless. The neighborhood is also very pleasant, with many large trees. The walk to NCSU campus or to Cameron Village was an easy ~20 minutes. Great place, lovely family.
Completely awesome experience staying with Debbie, Evan and the girls (and Buster). So good I extended my stay. Close to everything I needed, quiet and the facilities perfect for the days when I needed to an uninterrupted place to work.
We're a married couple with elementary-aged two daughters. We're a little old-fashioned but politically progressive. Debbie teaches Spanish at NC state University and Evan works for North Carolina's environmental agency. We like gardening, cooking, biking, and meeting new people. We love living in Raleigh and we'd be happy to help you discover how great it is here.
