About this listing

Enjoy convenient, comfortable and private accommodations in our home, located in a quiet, charming walkable neighborhood. Our home is just a few blocks from NC State University and a 10-minute bus ride (or a 15-minute bike ride) to downtown.

The space

Also in the neighborhood are Raleigh's Rose Garden or shopping and dining in Cameron Village. Explore the area on one of our bikes!

You'll have the basement all to yourself: a simple but comfortable bedroom with full-size bed, updated private bathroom, private entrance and adjacent den with TV, DVD, and Netflix streaming but no cable. There is a mini-fridge in the room. All linens and wifi provided. Feel free to use our kitchen, or, with advance arrangements, join us for a meal.

We're well-served by public transit. a Raleigh CAT bus stop just two blocks away will take you downtown or to other destinations in town. Regional TTA buses with service to Chapel Hill, Durham, RTP, and RDU airport are just six blocks away. We also have off-street parking.

We have many bikes available for riding to campus or downtown. You can also get on Raleigh's wonderful greenway network in two places within about a mile of our house and ride to the renowned (and free!) NC Museum of Art, Umstead State Park, or the newly renovated Pullen Park, with its 100 year old carousel.

We're adaptable, so if you have a special request, let us know and we'll accommodate it if we can. We look forward to hosting you!

Lovely family. The space is essentially a self-contained apartment, with independent entry/exit. Would definitely stay there again.

Our two-week stay with Evan and Debbie, their daughters, and Buster the adorable dog, was lovely. Evan and Debbie are both extremely warm and welcoming hosts. The bedroom is comfortable and clean, the bathroom is modern, and we had access to a large den with a sofa, and television with Netflix. The neighbourhood is quiet and pretty. I was undertaking research at the D.H. Hill Library, at NCSU, and it was great to be able to walk to the campus within fifteen minutes, and also have a range of restaurants/cafes within easy walking distance. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at Evan and Debbie's place: great location for NCSU; a comfortable suite; and caring and communicative hosts!

My hosts Evan and Debbie with their two girls and Buster were very welcoming and my room including the basement area was very comfortable and spacious. I borrowed my hosts' bike to meet up with my relatives, to cycle the many Greenways and to investigate the NC State campus and Downtown Raleigh including the Oakwood historic area and the Museum of Natural Sciences. I would highly recommend staying here.

Evan and Debbie are great people. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. My stay with them was my first trip into Raleigh, and they took me under their wing and made sure I knew everything I needed to know.

This was a great place to stay! The neighborhood is close to many things including colleges and downtown Raleigh! I was able to walk to the grocery store which I really liked being able to do that! The B & B was very clean/comfortable and I felt right at home. The house is in a great neighborhood. I walked around the neighborhood every evening :)

Evan and Debbie are very welcoming and made us feel right at home. They invited us to use their front door or a private entrance around back. The room had everything we could need. Great neighborhood right across from NC State. Appreciated the private entrance so we didn't have to bother their family when we came in late at night.

Evan and Debbie were wonderful hosts, and the listing was exactly as described. I arrived late due to flight delays, and they were warm and welcoming at almost 11pm! Lots of space, good WiFi connection, and the ceiling fan meant I could regulate my temperature instead of being dependent on the house A/C. It was great to have a mini-fridge and a set of dishes/cutlery, so that I could have breakfast and snacks on hand. The location is perfect, easy walking and biking distance to parks, NCSU, and multiple grocery stores and restaurants. It's also a central location for driving anywhere in Raleigh, and very convenient to RDU. I will stay again!

We're a married couple with elementary-aged two daughters. We're a little old-fashioned but politically progressive. Debbie teaches Spanish at NC state University and Evan works for North Carolina's environmental agency. We like gardening, cooking, biking, and meeting new people. We love living in Raleigh and we'd be happy to help you discover how great it is here.
