First and foremost, Costa Rica as a whole is a remarkable nation with a plethora of valuable things to do and see. I've been here for 3months staying in various air BnB's and using La Casita as home base, so I got to know the idiosyncrasies of place and the property manger very well. Initially... For the most part Fabrico was a good property manager. The man is friendly, attentive and accommodating, but a business man nevertheless. He'll offer to drive you from the airport when you land for about $40 dollars. Although Uber and other services only charge $20-$22(hindsight is 20-20) leaving my partner and I paying $80 for transportation when it could have been $40. La Casita upon 1st entry is an adorable, quaint and clean little house with just enough amenities to survive. Fabrico is responsive and that can't be denied, however the properties does have a few issues. Large roaches can often be found dead or dying in corners of the house or bathroom as well ants and millepedes transversing the floor. This can mostly be attributed to the fact the bottom of both the front and back door aren't flush with the floor and thus a multitude of insects and an occasional lizard will roam in. Although not a hazard, they're very unsightly. However the spider infestation was hazardous. They literally occupy every nook and cranny of the house, including in the bedroom and they have come down in the midst of my sleep and/ or relaxation on the bed. The spiders were absolutely deplorable. More hazardous, however is a disoriented German Shepard that appeared in the yard which Fabrico urged me to stay away from as he said the dog is not friendly and can be very dangerous. Albeit quiet and tranquil, I'd have to describe the general location as terrible as it is NOT proximal to anything of value including grocery stores, multi-plazas or adventures. The weather in the San Ramon area is nice, however the fairly cold evenings are unbearable as the house lacks proper insulation. Nights grew more uncomfortable with each passing day. If not for a small heater Fabrico eagerly provided the nights would've been unacceptable. The mattress is antiquated and springs unevenly protrude upwards making quality sleep difficult to obtain. Not to mention the lack of a headboard allows things to constantly fall off the back side of the bed. Pipes ruptured in my time there which flooded the floor although Fabricó responded to the situation in a timely manner . Fabrico does his best, but there's just too much in the house that needs to be fixed. Especially the spider infestation, they're in the shower, the pots and pans under the sink under the kitchen table, all of the curtains, they'll make their way to your shoes, it's really a borderline atrocity. All in all La Casita isn't an easy place to live, Fabrico tries. The Garden is decent, although during our stay it was mainly covered with...

For the review we would like to clarify: 1. The rate for the transport from the Airport to the Apartment is agreed beforehand. This includes the ride and a stop at a supermarket so the guest can shop for groceries. We do it as a additional service so it´s easier for them to get to the place. We charge a specific amount that can be more expensive than a Uber or Taxi because we have to drive to the airport and back. Some guests find it useful to have a person waiting for them, taking them if possible to know a little of San José, finding good tips and mainly not having to worry for directions, or any confusion. 2. As a tropical country and a mountain side residency we pride on the richness of the forest and gardens that are very near the house. However at the place in the guide we printed for our guests there are a few recommendations: The garbage truck rutine, closing the windows at sunset, and not petting or feeding any of the guardian dogs from the other gardens (yes they are separated and they never came in the premises of the house, however there was a request to do so; for that we always reply: they are guardian dogs, please don´t pet or feed them). 3. The place is in the rural and mountain side, however located on the main road and 25 meters from the bus stop that gets you to downtown San Pedro or San José in one ride. The main supermarkets are within 3 km, some small stores (pulperías) have very basic stuff in less than 400 meters and the plazas, or store centers are within a 5km ratio. We thank all the recommendations the guests make every time they come and we take them in consideration. For that matter the house is getting apart from other improvements a new mattress for the bed. As other guests reinforce we like to solve any issue as quick as possible, from getting a heater in less than 3 hrs, to fixing any trouble without disturbing as much as needed.

Fabricio is very open to warmth of guests and proud to show everyone the highlights of San Jose. He & Sofia, were who picked us up from airport, took us to get basic food supplies for a few days. Fabricio was then our guide for several CULTURAL experiences in San Jose. Also took us on our Ziplinig day, and to have good local meals & COFFEE! Yum. Feels like a son to us, by now- and plan on sending him ppl to his "Casita" . wonderful young couple, want the best for them and will stay connected forever. I actually forgot SEVERAL ITEMS back @ La Casita. Fabricio called us, and said he would gladly bring them to us in the next town we were staying at. That was TRULLY beautiful! Our experience w Fabricio & Sofia was wonderful. The only thing I can think of that we would do over again- is not staying too long so close to the city- if it is CITY that we were getting away from, from the begining A great choice , great warm people and knowledgable! Happy about our stay at La Casita❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Fabricio was very attentive and accommodating. He was friendly, explained all of the rules in great detail and was warm and kind. Staying at La Casita was so relaxing. We felt like we were in the middle of a quaint little cottage, surrounded by gorgeous lush gardens, in the middle of a bustling city just a few kilometers down the road. It was a great escape and highly recommended for people wanting their own little humble abode. We felt that this experience was so much greater than staying at a generic hotel. Will definitely be back and stay at La Casita.

La Casita was a welcoming and lovely place to stay for our vacation. It has everything you need to live comfortably, with easy access to the city by bus. Aside from the occasional car or motorcycle the area around La Casita is quiet and peaceful. There was even a convenient store to buy groceries within walking distance of the house. What truly made our stay shine though was the hosts. If any questions or issues came up during our stay they were quick to answer and always helpful. They even transported us to and from the airport for a small fee, as well as offered guided tours through the countryside. One such trip we took with Fabricio to the volcanoes, went zip lining, and visited the old capital for an amazing day trip. I would highly recommend staying here if you find yourself looking for a relaxing place just outside of San Jose.

La Casita is a beautiful little house. It has two beds in one very large room, a nice bathroom, a kitchen with dishware, a nice living room with tv and dvd player, a washer, and a nice yard with a patio set to relax on. It feels very safe, has a gated area around the house, and is about a 2 minute walk from the bus stop that takes you directly to the center of San Jose. Our host Fabricio was very welcoming and helpful, he picked us up from the airport, helped us plan activities we wanted to do while in Costa Rica, and even made phone calls for us and attempted to help us find the best bus route to get to certain places. He definitely made our stay easier!
