The place is clean, and it was quiet and peaceful. It was in a nice neighbourhood close to Atwater market and other food places. Gail made sure we are welcomed. She also gave us some tips on places to visit or restaurants to go.
Gail's house is perfect. It's very close to metro and airport bus station. Also, her house is close to downtown, so, everything is perfect. I love it.
Apartment is almost right across the street from a metro station, and is s very compact, so a lot depends on how clean and considerate they are - during my stay the fridge was a mess and one of the guests left dishes in the sink often. Room is smallish but clean.
Everything was just great! I enjoyed the apartment and the place was really close to the main St. Elizabeth street.
The room and bathroom was clean. The metro station Lionel-Groulx was right around the corner so getting around Montreal was very easy. Gail was very accommodating with my check-in and check-out time. Communication was also very efficient and easy. The apartment in located on a busy street so it can get a little bit noisy in the morning because of traffic. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to lay their head at night.
Gail is a super nice and responsible host. I highly recommend this airbnb to budget travelers. The location is perfect for first-timers to Montreal taking the airport shuttle and city transit as the shuttle's first stop is where the BnB is at, and a major Metro stop is kitty-corner from the bnb.
To get to the workshop I attended at Rene-Levesque Blvd and rue Guy, it took a comfortable 20 mins to walk (or transit at just 10 mins), and there is an excellent public market and grocery (plus a Subway, McDonalds, etc) 5 min walk away.
The room I was in was good enough. The floor (with shared kitchen and b/r) had some 'old house' scruff but it was clean as best as possible and good enough. A nice bonus was having a washing machine available on the floor w/ outside drying or machine drying upon request.
I would highly recommend to bring noise-cancelling earbuds as it was quite noisy in the front room where regular earplugs and window fan didn't block out enough (I recommend that when traveling, anyway), and if you have difficulty with stairs or have a lot of heavy large suitcases, the steep stairways to the rooms would likely be a challenge. Also, a movable fan (besides the fixed window fan) in the room would be very helpful on during the humid summer nights.
My stay was wonderful. I stayed here on a short business trip and it was just what I needed. I had an earlier flight than expected and Gail was nice enough to accommodate my early arrival. The location was great, just one bus stop to the flat from the airport and the metro was close and convenient. The room is cozy and clean. The bathroom is a shared bathroom, so I had to wait my turn a couple times but not a problem at all.
