We wish you a warm welcome at Residence Martin B&B where hospitality, kindness and familiarity will follow you all along your visit in the most beautiful city in Italy, Florence.
The Classic room is a double (or twin) room very nice and quiet, furnished in fiorentine style and very comfortable!
The residence is located in the heart of the historic center in a typical area of Mercato San Lorenzo(central market), where you can find all tuscany food products and artigianal sellers. The Residence is less than 5 minutes walk from the main train station Santa Maria Novella . As well as the most popular monuments, squares and museums, in a heart beat: Piazza del Duomo, Cappelle Medicee, Museum Accademia, Piazza della Signoria, Loggia del Porcellino, palazzo Vecchio, and many more...
We're just 5 minutes to walk from Santa Maria Novella Station:
When you will exit from the train station Santa Maria Novella you have to look on your right, there is a McDonalds on the corner of Piazza Flli Alinari and via Nazionale. Just walk on the right handside of via nazionale for 300 meters, until the second street on your right, and you will find via dell'ariento. We are about 50 meters on the right handside, right after the farmacia, number 33. So it's impossible to be wrong!!
The B&B was recently renovated with spacious and comfortable rooms with free WiFi, TV, bed linen and towels, heating and air conditioning. The large bathroom is shared with one other room, always very clean, equipped with all soap products, shampoo and hairdryer.
It's possible to have a private external bathroom on request with an extra fee.
Breakfast(2,50 per person per day) and tourist tax(1 euro per person per night) are not included.
The hosts were warm and friendly and were very helpful. The room and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. We found the lack of a private bathroom inconvenient.
We felt the room was nice, the bed was extremely comfortable. We stayed for one week and our room was cleaned daily. Also, the kitchen was adequate but it would have been nice to have better kitchen tools. We loved the balcony and dinning room. The location is fantastic and we appreciated the tips Veronica provided us about the city and what it had to offer. The family is lovely and kind. You feel welcome and appreciated. We would definitely stay there again.
Veronica and her family were warm, very helpful and considerate. They helped me store my bags so I could enjoy Firenze for an extra day and Veronica gave me detailed information, travel tips, restaurant a d shopping suggestions and a map. The room is very comfortable, quiet, has a cute little terrace and super well located. You can get to all sites by foot. I also loved being across from the historic Marche Centrale, where you can buy fresh food and artisanal products. You must eat the fresh figs! Highly recommend staying with them.
Grazie, arrivederci. Louisette. 21 avril 2013.
This is a great room in a fab location in Florence. The hosts are very helpful and friendly and told us about a lovely local Tuscan restaurant that we returned to as it was fab. It is basically a shared house in the same apartment building as the family and my only criticism is that at night other guests were noisy in the kitchen and balcony and we had to ask them to be quiet. Perhaps a curfew of using the balcony past 12 would work? That is no criticism of the hosts or the room- overall it is a brilliant place to stay and we hope to be back! Many thanks
Loved our stay at the Martin residence! Conveniently located in the middle of the famous Leather market, we we're able to get pretty much anywhere by a 15 mins walk. The place is clean and the other guest respectful. Veronica is so very sweet and make sure you have at least one meal at Nicholas restaurant! he is an awesome cook ;)
This bnb place was very professionally run. Nycolas was a very nice host and easy to reach. The place was cleaned every day and the location is absolutely perfect, being close to the train station and all the action. It was also nice meeting other travelers and chat over a glass of wine on the terrace.
I would recommend the Residence Martin to anyone. It is perfectly located and they were amazing hosts. They welcomed us with great recommendations on where to go and what to see. We enjoyed our stay at the residence Martin. Especially the little terrace in the back of the apartment. Very quiet and comfortable. If I where to go back to Firenze I would not hesitate one second to book again there.
This is an awesome place to stay and Veronica was an amazing host!! So first - the place: actually she was able to give us a room with 2 beds which suited my friend and I better. A/C is a great thing to have (a must, really in the summer) and the room is spacious and quiet. There were 2 bathrooms right next door which very much suited us because it felt like we had a private bathroom and I am pregnant so I need to go frequently. Also the location of this place is really wonderful, IN San Lorenzo market (good for shopping), very, very close to the Duomo, 2 sec from the Central Market (really close to everything actually) - and breakfast at the bar down the street is very nice with a tasty selection of pastry or hot beverage (you can also swap out for something more expensive for an additional euro if you want). There is also a full kitchen and fridge as well as a nice balcony - we didn't really take advantage but we should have and gone to the market every day instead of eating out. And there were also special, welcome touches like toiletries in the bathrooms. In addition, Veronica (also had the chance to meet Nycolas) speaks English fluently and she was a source of great information of where to go and where to eat (check out the Napolitan pizza place she recommends, yummmm) in Florence. She made us feel very welcome, lots of extra special touches and was flexible about check out...I was bad and late to move my stuff but we were able to arrange. I hope that I can come back one day to explore Florence again and introduce our babies. :)
We had a great stay in Florence thanks to Nycolas and his wife Veronica. Their room is very convenient to the train station and the directions they gave made getting very very easy.
Veronica was extremely helpful in giving us directions and tips on where to get authentic Florence food and also tips on how to get into the museums since we did not book tickets in advance.
The room was perfect for our stay and the breakfast was very convenient.
We would definately recommend Nycolas and Veronica.
