You will share the bathroom with 2 other Airbnb rooms. The toilet is separated from the bathroom.

The kitchen is well equipped: classic oven, 4-burner ceramic hob, very powerful blender, food processor, dishwasher… A fridge is reserved exclusively for our Airbnb guests. You will also find basic cooking products at your disposal: sugar, salt, spices, olive oil and vinegar. You will also generally find something to prepare for breakfast: milk, bread (sometimes homemade), butter, jam, coffee and tea. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance.

YOU ARE UNIQUE PEOPLE

Please let us know in advance if you have any special requests, activities you like to do, dietary restrictions or hobbies.

YOU ARE OUR GUESTS

We are Jakub and Boris. Jakub is a Frenchman who has lived in Prague for over 20 years. He speaks Czech well (he is a translator) and knows Prague, its neighborhood, but also the rest of the country and Czech culture (he studied at the Czech National Film School, and was an interpreter in dance shows). Boris is Slovak, and speaks several languages perfectly, including French. He studied medicine, but also studied at the Lausanne Hotel School and has a background in translation/interpretation. You will be with us as roommates/as guests/as at home/as family: we cannot choose. We'll be happy to share our experience of the Czech Republic with you, give you advice, and you can count on our help if you need it. We want you to feel at home and find all the privacy you need here.

Guest access
Our apartment, located in a 19th century building, occupies the entire top floor under the roofs, and is distinguished by its charm and unique layout. It is organized into four bedrooms, distributed in such a way as to offer both privacy and conviviality.

A SPACE DESIGNED FOR SHARING:
The apartment is divided into two distinct wings:

- The wing dedicated to our Airbnb guests: It includes three lockable bedrooms, as well as a shared bathroom and toilet, reserved for our guests.

- Our private wing: We live there and have our own bathroom and toilet.

A COMMON HEART FOR EXCHANGES:
The living room, kitchen and access to the private rooftop garden are in the central part of the apartment, which connects the two wings. This space, which we consider the backbone of our home, is entirely shared between us and our guests.

A PHILOSOPHY OF WELCOMING AND LIVING:
Our apartment is not a classic accommodation: it was specially designed to be shared 18 years ago and we have been sharing it for 18 years. We are committed to creating an atmosphere where everyone feels free and comfortable using the common areas, as if they were at home.

Where you’ll be

Prague, Czechia

The apartment is located in Zizkov, also called the Montmartre of Prague, a bohemian and popular area preferred by expats and artists. It has the highest concentration of bars and cafes in the Czech Republic. Located on a hill, it is a green neighborhood with winding streets that overlooks the old town. It was built largely in the 19th century, on the site of the imperial vineyards. It is traditionally the artisans' district.

At the bottom of our building you will find a grocery store open until midnight and another open all night within a 5-minute walk. On Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays there is a very popular market on Jiří z Poděbrad Square, a 10-minute walk away. Prague's largest beer garden is also a 10-minute walk away. Prague locals like to meet there with friends after work, or for a picnic, as it is also a nice viewpoint of the old town. Our building is also a 7-minute walk from Karlin, an industrial and office district on the edge of the Vltava, the new restaurant mecca in Prague.

For transportation, the main train station is a 13-minute walk away, and the bus station is 15 minutes away. We are a 3-minute walk to a bus stop and a 6-minute walk to a tram stop. By car, the airport is half an hour away (and Charles Bridge is 7 minutes away).

On the cultural side, Ponec, the most important venue dedicated to contemporary dance is a 5-minute walk away (Tanec Praha festival in June), and Akropolis, also a 5-minute walk away, is a legendary concert venue. You will also find an original concept art and experimental cinema, Pritomnost, a 5-minute walk away. On Thursday nights in summer, rock concerts are held outside under the huge chestnut tree of the U Vystreleneho Oka bar, a 5-minute walk away. Finally, Kasarna Karlin, a 10-minute walk away, is a very active cultural center that offers, among other things, concerts and outdoor screenings in the courtyard of a former barracks.

Jacques-Eloi, alias Jakub, born in 1970, is a Frenchman living in Prague for more than 20 years. He translates from czech to french for the nuclear industry, but also picaresque literature. He studied actuarial science, but also in the Czech National Film School and was the artistic director of a Film Festival in Rouen, which he co-founded in total confusion and which has been doing very well in south America since he stopped running it. He has been a performer in czech theaters and continues to practice non-acting, being perfectly in his element at the bottom of the sea among fishes. He does painting with people called mentally handicapped and loves the freedom of those shared moments. Sometimes he works seriously in an association that helps young Madagascans, by supporting their study or professional projects. He goes from time to time to recharge his batteries in Corsica, in the sole company of wild boars and morays. He likes kirsch soufflé and good restaurants. Boris, born in 1980, is Slovak, and is a trained translator/interpreter. He speaks multiple languages - perfectly Czech, Slovak, and French ; well English, Hebrew, Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic ; and a little bit Italian, Hungarian, German and Russian. He studied also medicine, and at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne. His passions: Jewish culture, bakery and pastry, the psychology of plants and their musical preference (Madonna for the roses and klezmer music for the tomatoes). He likes activities that require precision - linocut, calligraphy and soap making. He likes also everything that falls apart and especially buildings in ruins, but don't worry : Jakub is careful that the apartments we offer do not correspond to those romantic tastes of Rome antic. Boris gets along well with children, and would be an excellent father, however only Benjamin, our robot vacuum cleaner, will take care of us in our old age. When we are on vacation, it is usually our friend Tomaš who replaces us. Tomaš was born in 1985, and he leads a totally ecological and respectful life for our planet. He produces very little CO2, even when he breathes. He lives in his garden, without gas or electricity, in the light and warmth of the sun. If you want a bouquet of flowers, ask Tomaš, he will create you a bouquet of flowers of his own fields which reflects his cheerful, free and independent personality. Our team would not be complete without Ksenia and Riccardo who clean all the apartments and rooms with dedication and love. Their totem animals are the panda and the snoopy. Ksenia speaks Czech, English, Ukrainian and Russian while Riccardo speaks English and Spanish. Ksenia is creative on her bike with the big lizard she saved from the cold, Riccardo is doing a master in economics and is a rational and kind person you can totally trust.
