Cook House is a renovated Catskills cottage by Reset Club — featured in Vogue, Curbed, and Remodelista. Made for weekends where dinner matters, records are on, and the evening takes its time. Professionally laundered Parachute linens, Wonder Valley bath products, and Sonos throughout. One of four Reset Club properties in the Catskills.

The space
At Cook House, the kitchen is the center of gravity. Open to the living area, set up for everything from an elaborate dinner to a very good cheese board, and positioned so that chopping, listening to records, and lounging by the fireplace all happen in the same breathing room. The covered front porch extends everything outside in almost any weather. There's a fire pit further out for later nights.

When you're done, there's an outdoor shower, a hot tub, and inside, a soaking tub and a drop-down projection screen at the foot of the bed. Cook House is the kind of place where you can spend hours just moving through basic things — making something, eating it, reading, soaking, watching a film from bed — and realize you've built an entire world out of a single afternoon. It's for two people, or one person who wants all of it to themselves.

It's one of four properties by Reset Club, built around the belief that the right environment changes what you're capable of. Every property is held to the same standard — from the linens to the lighting — but each one has its own character. Cook House is the most self-contained of the four.

Neighborhood highlights

Cook House is on a quiet road just under 2.5 hours from NYC, in the heart of the Catskills. Well-placed for both nature and good eating. For hiking and scenic nature walks, Vernooy Kill Falls, Ashokan Reservoir, and Minnewaska State Park are all 10 to 20 minutes away.

For food and drink: Inness Restaurant and Spa, Westwind Orchard, and Arrowood Farm Brewery are all within 20 minutes. This area has become one of the more interesting food destinations in the Northeast. Worth planning a dinner or two around.

For groceries: Tetta's Market and Deli is the closest for last-minute needs. Accord Market and MyTown Marketplace in Stone Ridge are better for a full shop. If you're arriving late, Shoprite in New Paltz is usually open until midnight (10pm Sundays).

You can call me Sloan. With my partner Doug, I run Reset Club, where we believe the right environment changes what you're capable of. The question behind everything we build: how do you design a space that gives someone's mind room to surprise itself? The light, the books, the playlist already on — every detail is intentional, and the space is always expecting you.
