We like guests to be responsible and self reliant!
We were very pleasantly surprised by what we found after a long day in the car and rain. We were greeted by smiling faces, nice red wine and good conversation. Anika runs a dance studio/retreat center that is just gorgeous- lots of green space including acres upon acres of forest that she and her husband planted years ago. The cabin is a rustic but incredibly inviting and cozy nest a couple hundred feet from the rest of the compound. She very sweetly got the place all warmed up with the woodstove and left hot water bottles in our beds which kept us toasty all night. There is no running water at the cabin, though there is a bathroom and hot showers back at the compound. I wish we could have stayed many days. Anika and Phillip have really outdone themselves! We hope to be back.
After a very tiresome arrival, Anica greeted me with food, tea, and conversation. I absolutely loved the space, it was so relaxing and a great way to unwind at the end of my tour. I should have stayed longer! All the best!
Me and my girlfriend stayed with Catharina and Philip for four nights. We had a really really nice experience. They are both very well traveled, social and helpful people. They have created a forest estate on their former farm. We stayed in a wooden cabin in the middle of the woods. You will really go back to basic without tv or Wi-Fi! The woods are great with acres of trees. The cabin is coosy and has an actual woodfurnest to heat up the place. I think everybody should try this place!
