The price shown in the calendar is the price applicable for stays of 4 days. For stays shorter than 4 days or stays of between 5 and 6 nights please contact us through the messaging system before putting though a booking. The longer you stay the lower the rate, typically. To maintain a good standard for our guests we require certain conditions to be complied with. We appreciate most will respect our property but the occasional abuse requires that we state the following conditions.
A photo ID will need to be presented, which will be photographed.
All our apartments are non-smoking apartments. For smoking please step outside and make sure you don't leave cigarette butts behind.
No pets or animals are accepted.
Number of Guests should not exceed the number stated on the Confirmation Notice or subsequently agreed in writing or email. Fees will apply for excess guests not agreed with the owners in advance.
Parties and Functions are strictly prohibited. The price charged is for domestic use only and not commercial. Accordingly this rate does not allow for the extra wear associated with functions in terms of cleaning, garbage removal, wear and tear, repairs etc.
Damage, breakages, theft and loss are the tenants responsibility during their stay.
Departure - the property should be left in a similar state to its condition on arrival.
Linen is supplied. Bath towels are not to be used for beach.
Loss - the owners take no responsibility for the tenant’s personal property.
We have endeavoured to provide quality service to all our visitors and have provided you with a clean and tidy apartment and we ask that you follow some simple guidelines.
Before you vacate, we ask that you ensure the following has been done:
* Please wash any dirty dishes with the dishwashing facilities provided.
* Wipe the table, bench/stove tops of food spills to avoid staining and insects.
* Please leave oven, cooktop and microwave in a clean condition.
* Please remove any left over food from fridge and put into bins provided.
* Please empty any rubbish bins.
There is a standard cleaning charge at a nominal rate included in the price for your accommodation. However, should there be any extra cleaning required upon your departure; the cost for this cleaning is $50.00 per hour which will be invoiced to you, the guest.
Note: Variances can be agreed on, but only by arrangement with the owner in writing.

Really nice , clean modern apartment. Good location, 15 mins walk to the beach and train station. Bus stop outside the door. Hosts nice and friendly.
We stayed at the apartment for a little more than two weeks and never even felt for a single second that we are away from home. Everything was well organised and the description of the apartment was more than accurate. The location is perfect, close to beaches, cafes and transport. We couldn't have wished anything better than this.

Living Like Locals was easy and very nice to communicate with not only in English but also in German. Giuseppe did welcome us at the apartment personally and showed us around. The apartment is located perfectly in a nice neighborhood in Elwood in walking distance to the beach and also close to St. Kilda. The apartment is tastefully furnished and is equipped with everything you can think of being needed to live like a local. We had a wonderful time in Melbourne and we can recommend Living Like Locals and the Elwood apartment without any reservation.
We had a great stay at the apartment with our family. We immigrated to Australia in April and stayed in the apartment for 5 weeks while we were looking for a permanent home. Susanne and Giuseppe were fabulous hosts and were always easily contactable and very accommodating. Any questions we had were always answered quickly. The apartment itself was very well maintained and easily accessible by either train or tram with and the airport bus stops right outside. It's 10 minutes walk from the beach and the Elwood village shops. There are also numerous parks within 15 minutes walk, which was great for the the kids. All in all we and the kids had a great 5 weeks in Elwood, and a great start to our new life in Australia.
